Hi
In order to answer some questions, and to clarify things, here is a video where I take you through the 4 different ways to retrieve the pin code on Vauxhalls/Opel. (The ones I know about...)
Link on how to dump EPROM : • Clio UHC EPROM 93C66 D...
Link on how to dump MCU : • Renault Scenic Dump UH...
Hope you enjoy the video.
Any questions please put them below.
Like always, thank you for watching!
I am a diesel engineer and have not had much to do with cars at all, i have a vectra here with the same engine and this looks exactly like the fault. now i can do some more checking and hopefully solve the problem. this one has now stopped starting altogether. First class video very well put together and content very easy to follow WELL DONE!!!
Thanks!😊

Hi, Foxwell NT530 scanner Opel/Vauxhall special functions will also
retrieve and display the car’s security pin code. It worked on my 2001 Vauxhall Corsa c 1.2 16v. I believe you can also erase and program keys.
Nice to know...
I now have the IM608, which also does it...
Thank you for the information...

Just bought that carprog on the strength of this video, unfortunately it didn't read the ECU at all on my 2002 vectra 2.2 dti which has the same ecu in this video, bosch psg16!?
Seems a handy little tool though.
Genious, genious, genious! How come I did not check the car pass? Ehhmmm... because i did not have one in the first place? And then the Vauxhall dealer idea! Can't wait to spend another 20 minutes of my life to discover the other two splendid ideas...

Hi,I've got an Astra H 2006 model, lost the last key but managed to get a new blade with a virgin chip. I cut the blade, key is able to lock/unlock the car manually and turn ON the engine. I have a Silca tool to programme the key but unfornately I do not have the security /immo code. I'm for a cheaper solution to read the security code. i,ve been thinking of getting carprog v10.05 or v9.31 but I'm not sure whether it can read /extract pin. What is your advice?
Hi mate i need to fit new ECU into a Corsa c bit don't have the Carr pass .
If I fit the new ECU can I extract the carpass before I programme the ECU or does it need to be programmed first ?
Hi
You can't program the replacement ecu without the car pin.
If the replacement ecu has not been reset, you need the pin from the car the ecu came from...
Or as you have seen on this video, you might be able to extract it with carprog... or other capable tool.
Thank you for watching and for your comment!

Hi,
I have CarProg but I dont know what ECU should I use...
from OP-COM i get:
System Discripton: DENSO0100
Hardware manufacturer... : DECe01
in CarProg you have only 2 denso both options give me
strange characters for pin. Do you have any Idea how to fix my problem?
If shows "strange characters", that is most like because the ecu is not supported.

Is this the original CarProg or Clone that you are using? Does Clone has the functionality of getting pin code?
Great video. I am having difficulty using Carprog and reading Vectra C Siemens Simtec 75 via EOBD to retrieve the pin code.
I does not appear to commuicate with the vehicle. I have tried many different configurations. Vaux-Com does connect /read / write to ALL ECU's . Is this normally a probem Any ideas please?
I never had an issue... it must be your carprog... have you tried it successfully on other ECUs?

Hi and thanks for the videos, you say you use carprog for retreiving pin codes from vauxhalls! I have a corsa d 1.3 cdti on a 09 plate and ive looked and enquired about the chinese carprog software with all 21 leads but they tell me it wont retrieve pin codes from my car? I dont understand because ive watched you do it on your videos. I desperately need to get my ecu pin number , I have opcom latest version but it doesnt let me get the pin numbers. Could you put me right on what software would work for me please?- many thanks Andy
Hi
Yes, carprog does it depending on the ecu fitted on the car...
For corsa D I use the Maxisys...
Now, with carprog, you can still retrieve the pin, by reading the cluster eeprom... but you need to open the cluster...
A quick google search, and you will find other tools dedicated to pin retrieval...
You can always go the the dealer... if is a one off, is probably more cost effective...
Hope that helps!

Hi can you please help at all I have a customer that has a Vauxhall Corsa and they have lost all the keys I cannot access the vehicle but do I need to pick the lock to decode it or is there another way I can get the bitting.
If all the keys are lost you either get a used ignition barrel with a key, so you can turn the ignition on and from there program a key key, or, if you have the security car have a key cut with the mechanical key code and proceed from there...

Hi,
I tried to use opcom to retrieve the pin from the dash of a 2006 tigra (corsa c), using the read eprom function.
It didn’t work, and now when it tries to read the clocks the connection drops and resets every few seconds.
I think it’s my fault, because I forgot to press and hold the trip button. :-(
So I guess my question is, do you know if there is a way to recover the clocks or is in now toast? The clocks still function as the should but just don’t communicate properly with opcom.
I hope you can help. Thank you so much for all your help so far, I’ve learned so much from you already. :-)

Hi
Which tool are you using to program the keys?
If you read the code again, does it gives you the exactly same code?
Make sure you selected the correct ecu... although you should get no communications if you select the wrong one...
Thank you for watching!
LM Auto Repairs Hi, I’m using the OpCom (a chinese clone one not the original) yep l’ve did the read operation a few times and it gives me the same security code, pretty sure the right ECU is selected as the VIN is shown correctly, however this code does not get validated on any operation requiring it within OpCom not only when attempting to program a key ( that was my main purpose). From experience have you seen this behaviour ?
Thank you !
Andrei Ciobanu
Unfortunately no... it worked every single time for me... 🤔
I've been having the exact same problem on an 07 plate astra van, it always gives me the same 4 digit code
but I noticed it is actually the first 4 numbers in the VIN and after looking in the dump, carprog is just taking this from the other 10 numbers of the VIN which is next to every line of code.
it's so frustrating :-(
Don't know about Carprog (have it, did not use it yet) but I guess you don't have official one, so that might be the problem. Just call the dealer and buy the code, or use official OpCom (some cars you can read code), or Abrites (avdi) for Opel, which I always use (official one) which works fine. If you won't pay for software, might be bitten by wrong codes or non working software, that's evident to the investment you make (the clones are great for service resets, codes reading etc, but deep going stuff... no go)
I saw your video and enjoyed it a lot. I would like to clarify a doubt, I have a vectra c that broke the ecu, however I was able to buy an ecu from a similar car that lost the keys. Is it possible to communicate the car with the ecu of the other car?

@@LMAutoRepairs hi can I get cod for meriva opel 2004 year model?
This is about car radio
That you need to take it straight from the radio...
As the immobiliser code is not the same as the radio...
Liked your video. I noticed that when you tried to get the ECU info using vaux-com, that it was blank then you did something then the information appeared. What did you do, please? Thankyou.
David White
Hi
Well... first I forgot to turn the ignition on... lol
Then for some reason opcom stopped communication... perhaps because all the attempts I did before... all I did was disconnect the interface and reconnect...
lmsvvavr thankyou.

No worries...
my opel vectra c engine ecu is YCLS
Can I output the code the same way?

Hi
One of this ways will definitely work...
Carprog does not support Vectra 2.2 z22se engine. Do you know any other similar tool that does?
Hi
There is other tools out there... like OpelScannerCANProPT...

Are you sure it is compatible with that ecu?
What are you trying to do?
pin code mate i have noticed you have v05.94 mine is v10.05

You should be able to read the pin code from the dash using opcom... is that the Corsa c?
yes mate its 2005 will try that tomorrow
Hi, I need some help. I'm trying to retrieve the security code on a Vauxhall corsa 1.2 EXP. 2007 .with system name ME7. 62 using op-com and Carprog V10.05 . When I press read all Info it comes up with.
Could not send CAN KWP packet.
I've also tried it on Key_line.

Can't read ECU.
Any help Thanks Ade
Hi
I don't have that version...
Does it gives you other options for reading?
Can you read anything with it?

@@LMAutoRepairs hi thanks for getting back to me.
No it doesn't seem to read anything. Could it be the lap top needs win 10 . I'm running with a lap top win 7 .

Never come across that problem... Sorry...
what about Could not receive CAN kwp frame error?
Hi
Once again, I never came across that problem, so never had to investigate... Have google it, to see what comes up with?
Can you extract the IMMO code from the IMMO module itself, as I've just bought an astra g, and the previous owner has had the ecu and IMMO replaced, but it's still coded for the previous vehicle, so Im wanting to correct this but I dont know what code is stored in the IMMO module, or if it even matches with the ecu etc, as the car is flagging up a whole list of DTC's

Hi
Which screen are we talking about?
The one between the dials on the cluster, or the one for the radio?
Hello, thank you for the video! Where did you buy a carprog programmer and the software for it?
Andriy S
Carprog will come with the software...
Google will help you to find it... the original and the clone versions...
There is plenty of online sellers... eBay being one of them...
Hope that helps.
Well, I know what you mean. I have been searching for Carprog in internet. The variety of offers is exactly my problem. I don't know what to buy. I am not sure if the clone will work but obviously there are only clones in internet. That's why I am asking you to tell me a particular offer with a Carprog that definitively works.
Andriy S
I can't really advise you on that... as a clone is always a gamble... it might work jut fine or might not...
I am on the second clone carprog... Although I think I have been lucky on this last one....
If you really want to be sure, buy the original...
Good, but is it possible to buy an original? I am not sure it exists. I only found a 600USD proposal from Codecard/Atomis. This is some kind of legalized clone. That sounds weird. And to give 600USD for that + SW. I don't know. Probably I'll buy an original OP-COM that seems to work well and is from a serious manufacturer. But unfortunately a basic OP COM version doesn't allow to reset an engine CU. Only 2k€ OP-COM can do that.
Andriy S
The codecard website is the original seller of carprog.
The legalisation is something that they started to offer not long ago.
The clone car prog is when connected to the Internet, and or uploaded with the original software, the ATMEL chip is killed.
What they are offering is the adding of the clone carprog to their database... and that way make it legal.
The problem is that clone car progs can fail hardware wise... not sure if you buy another clone, the same legalised software still works...
Original op-com is about £700...
Carprog and op-com do different things, you need to think what you need the tools for, and from there decide which one to buy...
carprog read via obd2??
Depends on the ECU installed... but yes...
Thank you for watching and for your comment!

Hi
Yes it is.
I see that you also have Xprog ,are Carprog and Xprog both necessarily ?Or they complete each other ?
They complete each other...
Although I do prefer Xprog for bench programming...
You buy units to be able to use carprog? 14 units left (in the message).
Mambre Khachatryan
You can just reprogram the ATMEL chip and that just loads it with 50 units...

CARPROG is a different tool all together...
Op-com is not intended to read pin codes, and therefore very limited on that...

@@LMAutoRepairs I need to replace the ECU on a Astra H. The ECU is dead and I don't think we have the security code for the new second hand ECU.
You need that case to retrieve the pin from the ecu itself...
Depending on the ecu, some tools can read it through OBD... like Carprog...
Otherwise, you need to open the ecu to read the data and then retrieve the pin...
Which car/ecu are we talking about?
@@LMAutoRepairs thanks mate. It's a Astra H. I do have carprog but I didn't think it worked with cars like the Astra H or Corsa D?

Sorry... missed the Astra H part...😋
Better probably read the eeprom on the bench and extract the pin then...
Hii bro I'm too late in watching this 😅
Bro i hav opel vectra all keys lost how can i get the acsess code 🤔

The only other way, if you don't want to go to the dealer, is remove a module, like the cluster or similar, read the data and extract the pin...

No... I don't have that issue... but I have two interfaces, one with 1.45, the other one with 1.39 if I am not mistaken...
