Kane came out in 87 solo wise. But before that he was DJ'ying for Roxanne Shante and wrote a lot of music on Biz Markie's classic first album. All the dope rappers that came in the 90's stole the styles and flows of Kane, Krs, Kool G, Rakim, Slick Rick and LL Cool J.

Kane always had a smooth side but most people like his early stuff '87-'89. Same for me. I prefer his up-tempo tracks. He had the illest beats. B-Boy breakbeats. You have to check out "The wrath of Kane" (not the live version) I consider that as one of his best. Up there with Raw and Set it off.

Mc Shan - Kill That Noise used this sample before Kane. Also Jaz-O - Pumpin used this sample and Redhead Kingpin & The FBI - Do The Right Thing after Kane. Kane wasn't going at Moe Dee on this song don't listen to these misinformed fools. Kane and Moe Dee never had beef smh. Kane is throwing darts at Rakim on Mortal Combat.
