Great band with a lead guitarist who knows how to lay down some tasty licks. The guitar solo on "Whatcha Gonna Do" is a gem.
Ahh, riding in my boyfreinds 73 LTD Brougham, Pablo Cruise in the cassette player, sitting close on the way to the drive in. Still together after 46 years, and still listening to this album!
There is just something about that album (Worlds Away) that transports you. 1977-1979 were exceptional years!!! And this song.....😊😊😊

Pablo cruise was the first concert I ever attended . I was in the 8th grade and shortly I will be 62!
My first concert was Bad Company in 1979, I will be 62 in a little over two weeks. Those Pablo Cruise songs sure do bring back fun memories.

Mine too, I am 61, it was in jr High and the drummer did a solo by dancing on a huge Bass Drum, I am a drummer and freaked out... it was a great time!

Remembered David Jenkins from Southern Pacific with John McFee, Keith Knudson, Kurt Howell and Stu Cook.
Just saw Pablo Cruise open for Kenny Loggins in Clearwater FL this past fall. After their set, Dave Jenkins came and sat in the seat right behind me in the regular old seats. Totally normal friendly guy! I love normal people who happen to have great talent!!
Thank you Mr. Huckabee, for a wonderful band that still nail it.

One of the best memories I have as a kid was when my mom brought home this brand new album called Worlds Away. Even though I was only 6 at the time, I knew these were the guys who did “Whatcha Gonna Do?” from the year before (1977). Anyway, I remember my mom playing that album, Gerry Rafferty’s “City to City” and Billy Joel’s “The Stranger” constantly and I would just sit on the carpet in front of the speakers, reading the album covers and just getting lost in the music. 46 years later, I’m playing these same albums on my own record player in my house. The sound track to my childhood was indeed a glorious one.

I saw Pablo Cruise in the late 70's, opening for the Doobie Brothers, and I've always loved their music. Speaking as a musician, I've played their hits in various bands, love Yacht Rock, and ironically, will be playing with a Doobie Brothers tribute band (The Doobie Others) on that SAME Rock & Romance Cruise in March that Pablo will be on! Hope to get to meet these guys. Keep on goin' guys!!! 🙂💖🤘

Pablo Cruise had one of the best rhythm sections ever with Steve Price and Bud Cockrell. Cockrell was also THE voice of the band. Jeff Porcaro had high praise for Steven. That speaks volumes.
Thats for sure. I saw them live in the 70s and I was blown away by the drummer. But they are all really great musicians. And nice guys too!!!
I still remember Bud Cockrell (RIP) He blew me away with his lead vocal on the title Track A PLACE IN THE SUN. He reminded me of a prime version of TOTOS Bobby Kimball.
Mr. Price is a drummer's "Drummer" who knows when to lay down the fills... and when to show restraint. In either case, always fun to watch!

I believe the very first time I ever heard this song on the radio was in 1978 and I fell in Love with it back then but as time went on I didn’t hear it again on the radio anymore so years went by and for the Life of me I Couldn’t remember the name of This song at All but Or Even The Group ! A few decades had passed or a little more than that I Actually heard this song once Again and I was So Happy to Hear it Again and then I Finally Heard the name and song again and I Now Hope I Never Forget It Again ! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Bruce Santos was their bass player. Met him at Don Weirs Music City in San Francisco where he worked in the early 1980s, where I used to regularly shop for gear. Saw them at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in 1978 during the State Fair.
