I'm tempted every time this game comes around but I think I'll pass again. I'm fine with scenario based games (we like a lot of the same games), but I absolutely want more story immersion if I'm going to spend as much time setting up/tearing down the game as this one demands. I have other games in my collection that scratches the adventure itch, and I cannot justify yet another big box game that I'm not completely in love with. Thanks for sharing! I always enjoy hearing your opinions.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you. This is one of those games that will be a bunch of people's favorite game and get played all the time, but for others it will fall flat or just not be a game they can justify adding. Everyone is on a different timeline with different tastes. It makes it hard to say, "I think this is a really great game, but YOU should probably walk away." The fact that it is crowdfunding supposedly for the last time doesn't help matters. As always, thanks for checking out the video and commenting. I always enjoy hearing your opinions as well!

Such FOMO with this one, im backing the core for sure, I know that will be enough content for a long time but I might not be able to get the expansions in future so feel like I have to get them.

Yeah, I really dislike the FOMO present in most crowdfunding campaigns, especially this one. I personally think I am sticking with the base game. There has only been one time in 10 years that I regretted missing out on an expansion and that was Battlestar Galactica. Thanks for watching!

@@TotallyTabled thanks, this has helped me decide to stick to the base, like a lot of board gamers I get hit with FOMO, buy everything then years later I have played like 2 scenarios of the base game lol

Yeah, it is hard to balance. I almost always prefer a new game to an expansion, but some people are the exact opposite. Like you, I find that I play very few expansions.

i just picked this up on ebay, base game with the deluxe bits including the storage towers.
    1. still not an adequate storage solution. still need gamery gamer containers. its a shame for a game thats so expensive.
    2. setup is brutal. i play Voidfall so im familiar with brutal setup. for people who want a quick setup game, this isnt it by a long shot
    3. the game is expensive. imo, maybe too expensive for the adventurey type of experience it gives.
for years i avoided this. a friend kept telling me its a me game. i saw a bid on ebay that was cheap and i won it. wouldnt say im disappointed by the game or that it wasnt worth the money, but its unlikely going to stay.

I have the deluxe edition, and the storage solution it provides is not very good anyway. I ended up using a friend with a 3D printer, to print a much better solution.
Great review btw! Easy to get a good overview for newcomers, with your video.

Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked the video. I wish I had a friend with a 3D printer -- that would solve a lot of problems. :) Unfortunate to hear the deluxe edition doesn't have a great way to store stuff. Thanks for checking out the channel!

I had the 1st edition liked it in the beginning, but after 10 plays it became dull, a very poor battle mechanic. After 10 plays it became rince and repeat. It’s often compared to Mage Knight and in some ways it is, but MK is sooo much better. Also the character progression was also very poorly done. Well it wasn’t my cup of thee

It definitely isn't Mage Knight, nor is it really trying to be. But for many gamers, this would be more enjoyable and accessible than Mage Knight. They are games for different audiences. The things in MK that make it one of my favorites are all missing in Euthia, so I don't even like comparing them. I am having fun with the system and how quickly and easily it plays once setup. I haven't played 10 times, so I do worry I'll have the same experience as you did. I can see the repetitive gameplay, even though I'm still enjoying it. Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts and thanks for checking out the video!
