  • Welcome to my full solo teach and playthrough of the Collision scenario of Euthia: Torment of Resurrection, an adventure board game by designers Markéta Bláhová, Tadeáš Spousta. BGG Link: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/2....
I received a free copy of the game to make this playthrough.
    RULES MISTAKES:
    1. First Strike only happens once at the beginning of combat, not every round of combat.
    2. Gold card ability Regeneration lasts for the entire combat.
Basically, I wasn't even close to defeating the final boss.

Great production here! love your video editing. when playing rhis game, dont forget about Shii's intervention. Even though you made some mistakes making rhe game easier, that shii's intervention balances the game out.

I didn’t realize that you get the treasure card automatically. For some reason I thought I needed to mine for it. Thank you! I learned something. Really love this game. I skipped the expansion and just have the standee original version. I made a makeshift printout of the Druid hero from the first expansion and got the Necromancer hero only. I did back for the ice one. It is a bunch of stuff but is better if you can organize it well. I got printed baggies for tiles and 3-D printed hero boxes for each one.

I believe I got that one right, but don't take my word on it. I got a bunch of rules wrong on this one, especially how combat works. Thanks for watching!

I was initially put off this game. Seems like a rinse and repeat of others. Has a bit of a Mage Knight feel to it, without the card play. I quite enjoyed this playthrough. I'm reconsidering my opinion of this game. You showcased it well. Thanks for an entertaining vid mate. Cheers!

I'm glad you enjoyed the playthrough. I try not to tip the scales, so to speak, with my playthroughs and simply present my honest experience. I like a lot of things about Euthia and I see why it is so popular. My only hesitation is with the combat system, which doesn't appeal to my tastes. I find the systems in Mage Knight and Gloomhaven, etc, to be more interesting. But others will enjoy this dice based combat much more, so I'd say your feelings about the combat is important. I'll definitely return to the game in time and finish the scenarios. Anyway, thanks so much for watching!

Fantastic playthrough, thank you. I played a dozen times when the original KS arrived and this video makes me want to pull it out again. Hopefully you'll film some more scenarios.

Thanks for the awesome playthrough, always love your videos. I must admit I found the scenario and gameplay a little dull… this was on my radar but the more I see it played the less I like it. I have mage knight and it grabbed me more than this for a lot less money and table clutter.

I had never played this scenario and it wasn't my favorite of the ones I've tried. It isn't representative of the others I've played, which was fun for me. And it does play quickly. The longer scenarios are more interesting. But if the combat seemed dull to you then I would stay away. Thanks for watching!

I wouldn't compare it to Mage Knight, you're bound to be disappointed in that case, not really the same thing at all, and I love both.

I really want to like this game, and i do to a degree. I'm in the late pledge, so have a few months still to decide if i want to go all-in or not. The issue i have is the monsters; they lack personality. I wish they had done an overhaul of them. Right now, they're all very similar.
Also, when the minion uses the gold cards, isn't the top bit an ongoing effect? So it applies every round. So for example the mistress would regenerate every round by 1? Also, great video! Please do more.

Yes, I misunderstood that rule and played it wrong, along with the first strike rule. Notes are in the description. Thanks for watching!

I owned this after the first campaign and while I liked a lot of what it had to offer, I culled it after 4 or 5 plays.
I have absolutely zero interest in competitive play and I hated how the card cache mechanism works for the monster rewards. In competitive, card rewards are good as you can use them against the other players. However, in solo those card "rewards" make the monsters stronger and give you almost nothing (4 cards is a gold is a tiny reward). It would be fine if EVERY monster did this, but only around half do. That means you have some monsters that give great rewards and some that actually punish you for fighting them (where it's all rewards for the competitive game).
They really needed to find a better way to deal with those card "rewards" for solo.

Yeah, that's a fair criticism for sure. I also am not interested in the competitive modes and won't play them, but I'm like that for Mage Knight as well. I'm still enjoying it but I'm not sure if it has the legs for me. I want to try all the scenarios first, which will take me some time considering how I bounce around between games. Thanks for watching!

should the 2 gold cards not have been kept in the final fight? I'm sure she should have regenerated every round and had +2 fight every round due to those cards. I could be wrong, but I'm sure the box at the very top with the single health and fight symbol means for the remainder of the fight. Not played this scenario yet, so thanks for the playthrough. Love this game. 👍🏻

You got me going back and forth about this game Shaggi! I like how this scenario was totally backwards and had a big exploration component.
Do you know if the expansions make the game extremely different? Or just add more similar components?
Thanks for helping decide how to stock my shelves! 😆

I really have no idea what the expansions add or how they play. I've still barely scratched the surface of the base game. I think there is a lot of info out there from other creators who are more plugged in. Thanks so much for watching!

That's a great question that is difficult to answer. I can only speak for myself and keep in mind that I received this for free, so that definitely affects my perspective. I've enjoyed my plays so far. Now that it is organized, getting it out again isn't that daunting. I've decided not to invest in the expansions. I think this will be a game I play occasionally, but I don't think it could hold up to play after play after play all at once. The combat system doesn't have the legs for me, and I would worry about burning out on the game. Some people will love this, especially if you want something streamlined with dice combat. For me, I would rather play Mage Knight. But also, this style of game isn't in my wheelhouse. So it is a mixed bag for me -- fun but limited. A bit expensive and requires some annoying work up front, but then becomes rather smooth. I do like the scenarios, but I wish it had a bit more narrative. I like it but wouldn't say I love it. But I understand why a lot of people love it. Sorry I can't give you a more definitive opinion. Thanks for watching!

    Okay so I just watched through the whole video now. I noticed you made two significant mistakes during the video. This is not to be elitist or critical, as the game has a ton of rules and I keep forgetting things during gameplay all the time, myself. I'm writing this just to let you know, if you care;
For one, first strike throwing weapons are only used once at the beginning of a combat encounter, NOT at the beginning of every round of that encounter. The rulebook honestly isn't clear enough about this, but it is the case. You also only use a single regular weapon every time you attack during the normal combat turn, even if you have multiple equipped.
Secondly, during the final battle, you removed the gold cards after using them. The gold cards are supposed to remain for the entirety of the combat encounter. So the boss would for example regenerate 1hp every single round, which would have made the encounter a lot harder (probably why the game asks you to add so many Silver cards when revealing the boss, so that the chance of getting a gold card during the fight is higher and thus balancing the combat encounter out to be harder).
Great video though! Would love to see you play some more Euthia on the channel, I find it a really enjoyable game to watch.
