    Tang outfits and art form remain the most beautiful during 5000 years of Chinese history. Tang Dynasty is the height of Chinese culture, and went on to form the fabric of Japanese and Korean culture.

      this! ppl don’t talk about this enough, esp when i tell people japanese aesthetics are chinese, just from a particular chinese dynasty bc we had so many styles from diff ruling families. hanbok drew inspiration from tang people deny, tang was so influential during this time it’s common sense they influenced korea japan dai viet and more but ppl lack common sense! bonsais in japan are existing bc they borrowed it from TANG china finallt someone gets it!

Some talented neitzen combines the theme song of a Chinese series with the dance and become a trend .ruclips.net/video/_xtcLeslpmM/видео.html

      @@annp4077 I know the dance troupe you sent, they wear Tang dynasty clothes but they do not perform Tang dance. Tang dances and rituals are lost after so many years. The most vivid ancient dance is Qing Dynasty since it's the last dynasty and there are clear records as well as old royal dancers who were still alive. People only try to create dances based on Tang statues and painting's poses, but they are not Tang dances, clearly modern creation

    Its funny how non Chinese people suddenly becomes expert of Chinese history.
    This form of dance have been practised as traditional dance for long periods of course there will be little modifications and changes with the passing time and that's same for so called classical and traditional dance today all over the world.

    • @Makkaru112
      @Makkaru112 3 года назад

      Indeed. But many Chinese people act alot like non Chinese. It's more to do with access to certain knowledge etc. If the dance speaks to the soul and uplifts the spirit it's doing something right anyway! If it takes you back to that era then it did something right. The cell memory knows all and our intuition needs to be trusted more. ❤❤❤❤

      Well when you are interesting into something I think with the source of information and literatures now days will give you so much access to dig up many things including culture, history and anthropology .... Become a local doesn't guarantee to be knowledgeable into their own culture and history especially in this modern era where people more interesting into pop culture compare to their own traditional culture.

    • @tc2334
      @tc2334 Месяц назад

      Most Chinese people aren't experts of Chinese history either and are even more prone to just taking things like this at face value. There are loads of records of the names of dances, the occasions they were danced at, the clothes they wore when they danced and how fast or graceful these dances were, but there are scant records of the dance steps/hand positions from any Tang Dynasty dance handbook. These are, at best, modern dances based on poses seen from Tang Dyansty paintings.
      This is not a modification. This is a modern interpretation of a dance that stopped being danced over 1000 years ago.

During the Tang dynasty different dance style was developed as Chinese scholars was tasked by the Tang emperor to create a good dance style that court ladies will perform during the visit of the foreign visitors who was invited by the Tang emperor. Take note that only during the Tang dynasty era began the migration of Japanese,Korean and Persians as the tang emperor invited them to live and study the culture of Chinese people. A visual treat to the eyes. A captivating interpretation of what an ancient Tang Dynasty court dance could be like; with slow and deliberate movements interspersed with quick, staccato ones. Based on Tang Dynasty paintings, women tried to show their suppleness by pleating their skirts in an accordion form, and raised the waist all the way up to under the armpits, so that the waistline was barrel shaped to show a full and rounded body contour. It was fashionable then for Tang women to look slightly plump, with a lower-cut front to expose the cleavages between their breasts. Here is where the modern-day dancers differ from the ancient ones, presumably to suit contemporary tastes or socially acceptable norms. It would be remarkable for plumper dancers to move as swiftly and suddenly as the modern-day slimmer dancers.

      Everybody learns and adapts/adopts from everyone else. Chinese are practical-minded enough to do so from the best and evolve them into something uniquely suited to themselves. Those who don’t adapt to the times are falling way behind. China is still here after more than 5,000 years of uninterrupted history. We can’t say the same for some 200- or 300-years old upstarts who keep bragging they’re the best when they’ve barely lasted one millennium.

      Agree. But in keeping with ancient Tang dynasty's strict court etiquette, their hair could not be undone during a court dance. The only time when you could see their hair undone...best left to your imagination...🤣😂

      what? Hair style and clothing are most important culture symbols that distinguish center Chinese from barbarians(夏夷之辨). The disheveled hair (披发左衽)is a typical barbarian(蛮夷), and it was the most despised by the ancient Chinese

    The closest dance to real Tang Dynasty dance is Japan’s Gagaku dance. The Japanese Imperial Family imported it during the Tang Dynasty and has virtually not changed the dance since they first imported it over 1,300 years ago.
