    From my experience with some Japanese people, I was very impressed by how many live very simply and don't have 'too much stuff' like Americans. It's easy to be weighed down by things. I wish to try her method and see if it could possibly work. I'm so glad that Airbnb allowed her to be an international presenter of a topic and to be able to speak in her own language, which also helps create community (others can learn about other cultures through a natural presence).

    Before read her book I was following the minimalist philosophy. I had a few thing but I felt that it was missing something. After reading KonMarie method, I discovered the missing: I didn't love some of my few things!
    I did the process to all my house and now I feel much better. My possessions was reduced but I know that I really love what I have now.

    I love her. Very simple, yet charming. Doesn't need to wear colourful clothes or try too hard to be adorable. She's a natural

    I have read Marie's books and used her principles to tidy my t-shirts, etc. I love hearing her speak and am continuing to tidy up. I think that she is right, start first thing in the day and do the clothing first. I cannot imagine, right now, tidying photos! Brava, Marie!

    Thank you for teaching me the way to let go things by saying thanks to the discarded. I feel releasing negative feelings by letting go of things that do not spark joy and also not feeling guilty when throwing things out is so important to me. I did not have a clue before. One thing that saddens me is that we all say thank you to our God, the creator first.

    I've done my clothes one month ago and it's still organized. I did the books, documents and kitchen and I'm fascinated by the results. I have to do the komono part and it looks overwhelming. I hope I manage to finish!

    Really interesting! I hadn't imagine there could exist a "tidying consultant"! LOL. It'd be great if it could be translated to Spanish so that I could share with my 2 aunts who are my fellows at hosting through Airbnb. ;-)

    Oh wow! Ma c'era pure Marie Kondo! Non ci credoooo....!!!
    Ho fatto anche un Video sul suo metodo,
    applicato alla mia casa, dove adesso ospito.
    ...aiuto, se lei entrasse 24h prima degli ospiti e vedesse il casino che ho in giro... butterebbe anche me in uno dei suoi sacchi!! :-D ha ha ha Però non demordo, prima o poi "marikonderizzerò" tutta la casa senza pietà! Così poi.. basta perdere ore e ore per pulire e riordinare prima dell'accoglienza, diventa tutto più facile! :-)

    She usually wears the same dress and white coat, but I think it's because she only keeps what sparks joy to her because she's a minimalist, so she must have only a couple of dresses and coats :)

    • @TheMorningtrain
      @TheMorningtrain 8 лет назад +12

      She is not a minamilst , and she has said so. She possibly has a self made "uniform" for her public speaking work, like many of us do for our job. While her method is helpful to people who subscribe to a minamilst lifestyle, she herself does not consider herself a minamilst.

      It's a common problem , thus konmari's popularity in Japan. Buy your wife the book!

    I guess her method is something like getting rid of what you stupidly are attached to but it's useless (that's why it doesn't spark joy in you) and keep what is truly necessary and makes you feel better. In the end, we only live once...
