People don’t understand how humble Warren is, I used to work in a club and Gov’t Mule was that nights show. Warren was 1st in for load in, I was sweeping the floor. He walked up to me and said, “Hey, I’m Warren, what’s your name? I told him and six months later when they played our club again, he walked in and said, “Hey, Todd, how ya’ doin’”
Substantial. Truly gifted...in so many ways. Dicky was asked by one of the producers at the early stages of reforming the ABB if he was afraid of playing against Warren (due to his enormous talent). To Dicky's credit, he said "I'd rather play with somebody better, than somebody worse...it just makes me better." Warren Haynes is a deeply accomplished musician. I've been playing guitar for 45 years and won't live long enough to emulate (I'm 64), but I'm very grateful I know enough to realize how good he really is.
How he plays the slide so cleanly with no string buzz or noise, will always be a mystery to me, I'm afraid. *Yes, I know he ghosts the slide with his index finger and mutes the unplayed strings with his picking hand. I know the techniques, I just can't fuckin' implement them, alright???*
Warren, one of the top 7 in the music world.. In my personal opinion, the BEST.. I don't know anyone who can't find 15 tunes of his they are amazed with.. 15.. That's. More than enough for a album..
Thank Warren ! I been goofing around with slide a man it drives me crazy all the rattling around and unwanted strings noises ! I been trying to palm mute and use my fingers like the best slide players but its not something that just falls in your lap definitely going to take lots of practice !
I'm not always the first person in the room to recognize a major talent, I'll admit, but with Warren Haynes I knew the very first time I heard him play. In my view he was hands down the best replacement for Duane Allman/second guitarist The Allman Brothers ever had. In fact I'd say he's technically even better than Duane was. Don't kill me for saying that, I just believe that the art of guitar playing has grown far beyond what it once was in 1970, and the right musician can still retain the soul (vs. all technique.)
Ok...Saturday morning...mind blown...had no idea he was that level of master player. Should have known you don't get a nod from Gregg Allman and play on the same stage with Derek Trucks without being a monster....but damn.....
must take a moment to thank Warren fro sharing his insights and interests concerning improvisation. First let me say that I've loved Allman bros. music since about 77 when I first discovered that style of music ever, it was new to me, great stuff, there was Skynrd, ZZ Top, I like their styles, Allmans had a mores 'chords', jazzier , , but bluesy style, like Elizabeth Reed, great chords, great guitar improv., miss Gregg, Duane, w/o saying, Eric n Derek, ya know, I sort of lumped that all together. Songs like Blue Sky w Warren and Dickey jamming, well, it doesn't get any better right. So I appreciate an accomplished improvisation it's such as Warren sharing their knowledge, their music is their music in that genre, lots of nice color in all your playing, always reciting, and rich, tasteful. I'll try to aspire to not be a downbeat only player, huh, I just play, I don't ever think in terms of time or theory, no time to think about it, when it's showtime and it's time for the instruments to do some talking, well, well for me, by that time a piece is so engrained into me it's as reflexive as breathing. A little analysis prior to any piece is required, ya know, what's it a gonna be

thats awesome. I know his son pretty well, but only met Warren like 4 times.
Also he seems like the kinda dude that's VERY professional and doesn't take shit from ANYONE.

Watching Warren I just don't want to play anymore. Wow great and humble at the same time ...
Check out Brian Setzer. Very, very good at his craft, yet very humble and respectful.

its so incredibly generous when a professional, a legend attempts to teach us...
Thank you for that Masters Class...the real ones keep giving on stage and off...You are the man Warren.....
I love listening to someone who really knows what they're talking about. You just can't beat years of experience 👍👍👍
An amazing guitar player and an even better band leader
My favourite guitar player, feel personified.

"...I think it's very important to open your mind that way." Right on Warren!

Absolutely loved this, useful info even for a seasoned player!

He covered more in 10 minutes, than most guitarists cover in their entire lives.
Just saw GMule for the first time and had to youtube...Warren is a one-man wrecking crew.
Welcome to the tribe✌️
"If i'm improvising, eh, you know, it's just fun.. to not think about what tuning you're in, you know?" - Right, got it.
No kidding. Can't everyone just do that?
He is right, after all! Nothing better than the experience of just playing.
Warren is one of the greatest guitar players of all time.
