Premier Guitar, please PLEASE get a bassist who knows how to dial tones for your gear demos. I swear more than half of the videos I see that Steve is playing in, he doesn't do any of the gear justice at all.
It make me sad everytime i see that guy do a poor demo of a great piece of gear...always blasting everything on extreme setting that sound bad and not knowing what he's talking about.
It's a preamp, not a overdrive only, so you should have plugged this beast into the return effect loop of the amp so that we only hear the Darkglass preamp and not both DarkGlass and Aguilar
Great pedal, bad review, we didn't hear the dry sound, we didn't hear the gentle tubby dist. We didn't hear so much this pedal can do... Please get a great bass player and a classic passive bass for your reviews guys, otherwise you might loose us
wow this review makes it sound absolutely terrible i think the main problem is he keeps the drive maxed the entire time idk about you but for ANYTHING, guitar pedals, amps etc i dont think anybody reasonable plays with drive maxed you have to back it off to around 1 o clock or noon for it to sound good(unless you want a fizzy mess for something like doom or sludge metal bass tone) this review is awful this pedal is amazing and its super upsetting that he makes it sound so terrible
Why do all these bass demo guys always play the dumbest Rock, Pop, Funk, Jazz or R n' B but never Metal, Punk or industrial and usually not a single chord, so if you play heavy and aggressive with chords you have not a single reference as to the sound of most gear for your taste. My favorite Distortion to use on Bass Guitar is the MXR Full Bore Metal, the EQ section lets it actually sound like a Distortion and not another Overdrive or Fuzz or whatever other wooly crap.

so you think you can do it better?
Alex B Well, he kinda did. Patrick did a review of this pedal on his channel already and I think is better than this video.
+Alex B Patrick Hunter's video are pretty cool man, check them out.
your demo is WAY better, congrats dude
Sounds like a bunch of farts in the key of shit
Only over your cheap ass computer speakers...

You should probably listen. He says the Aguilar is only for his monitoring. The video audio is the DarkGlass only.
Is the ground lft by passed when using the 3 pin output?

this review is awful
this pedal is amazing and its super upsetting that he makes it sound so terrible
And also the fact that any distortion sounds crap when recording DI. Always mic a bass amp when you want good distortion tones
What 1/4" cables are those that you're using?
Dave.
The guy explains the pedal well, but yeah, unfortunately doesn't get any good tones out of it. I use the b3k and it doesn't sound this tinny and bad.
someones a nolly fan
No more active basses, please
Lemmy bass sound....
Whys it so damn expensive!
Because boutique gear is expensive?
it literally is the best sounding bass preamp ive ever used
its definitely worth it
this review does it NO justice whatsoever
Definitely worth it.
Sounds rough...
