Here is some advise if you plan on driving you Toyota on those rocky roads, dump the stock street tires, and get a good set of all terrian tires. Like Toyo, Nitto, etc. You want something with a strong sidewall too so you don't get flats when you drive over the rocks. Also, invest in a good pair of shocks too. That will help the performance on your Toy.

Thanks. Your points are well taken. When this video was made I have traveled to Death Valley over 10x with friends and in stock tires with my previous vehicle, which was a Subaru forester. However, I do understand the importance of having good tires, shocks, and even a lift, but the cost to do so is out of my budget. If you would like to donate, then I can provide you with my PayPay account!

Look online people are always selling their used tires. Also check 4wheel Parts. They always have sales going on. Good tires are the most important. I’ve been off roading for many years and rescued a lot of people driving with stock tires. The problem with stock tires is they are thin and have zero traction in the dirt. Stay safe and never go off roading solo unless you have a way to communicate off the grid

This trip ended up costing me a new windshield because of the sandstorm I drove through when exiting towards the main highway 395.@@OffRoadOverlandCamping

The key isn't all terrain per se but LT tires vs P metric. I am frequently in Saline and people with Subaru's are regularly splitting sidewalls. Airing down P metric tires is honestly a fools game.
