Still in awe of Tommy, after seeing him in Leeds (UK) 4 years ago. He IS the complete guitar player, able to squeeze every last drop of "feeling" out of the slow ones and then rev up to play the fast ones like you only dream about ! Truly an astounding player !
Tommy Emmanuel is revered in the musical community around the globe. He is hailed as one, if not the greatest acoustic guitar player of our time. I would say that is superstar status. Thank you sidneyandherbie for uploading this! :D
Browsing YT, and seeing my recommendations, I am CONTINUOUSLY STUNNED at Tommy's repertoire range. How can he possibly have learned (and perfected) so damn many pieces of so many different genres. Just an ASTONISHING ECLECTIC MEMORY ... not to mention his skills!
@sidneyandherbie this will be my 1st tommy gig having only discovered him on YT a couple of months ago, and i cant stop watching him. ive been to alot of concerts over the years but i have never looked forward to one as much. comments on YT describe it as a magical experience and say the sound quality is unbelievable. i doubt you would disagree.=)
So cool Tommy....I see he has added another pickup to his Maton ... I suspect it might be like a strip pickup across the sound board...does anyone have an idea ...Great sound ...and such a great player Dave Alberta
@fotwunny He said in one interview that it takes him less than a year to get the paintwork looking like that1 It's not just the strings that take a beating!
This song is actually called Restless Eyes, by Janis Ian. I think Tommy managed to make a great song even better. Only he could have done that, just a fantastic version.

I actually found this is a song called you needed me, this is just reworking of it. RUclips Anne Murray yiu needed me it's slower and in a lower key but definitely this song

When it comes to music, TE gets my attention more than most bands with numerous persons moving all over the stage. His skill is phenomenal.
Don't dare miss him if he comes close, or far. You will never be the same. Musician or not.
Guitar genius, he's also a great composer, his arrangements are outstanding, what an amazing musician and such humble likeable guy
