This vlog reminds me a lot when I was a teacher of the Vietnamese refugees in the camp in Bataan. Hindi ka pa ata buhay JM when it started and baka elem ka when it finally closed in the 90s. We wore ao dai (pronounced as ao yay) to celebrate their traditions & graduation in the camp. Teachers were gifted with gold jewelries during end of cycle before they eventually migrate to the US. They can only bring gold when they escaped Vietnam. Our students were aged 18 yrs old (young adults) to mid adult up to old age 70 and up. Another organization handled the children and the program for adults was handled by the US State Dept. We taught them ESL and cultural orientation. Like Filipinos they are hospitable they would invite their teachers to their billets saying; "Teacha come eat my haws, cook my mother." They would serve hu tieu, banh mi, bun cha gio & so many more. Seeing how Vietnam has been evolving now is such a feat for them. Thank you for this vlog.
Danang has really changed. Dati it used to be a gateway lang to nearby historic cities like Hue and Hoi An. This series of videos is an eye opener. Might visit Danang soon. 😊
