someone on tumblr (i think their name is inq-dreams?) put what they thought he was saying during the World Revolving part and I think it fits pretty well “Please Knight, answer the phone, pleaaaase-ha ha ha, all the suspense is making me wait, to tell you how much it’s ringing! Please Knight, answer the phone, pleaaaase-ha ha ha, all the suspense is, all the suspense is, tell me what you’re really selling!”
I'm pretty sure insread of 'all the suspense is making me wait' it's 'pull the strings and make them ring' which I'm pretty sure is flavour text in his fight at some point.
@@Evelyn_onfire i personally think its "Please answer me, please answer the phone" if that's not it, then its "mike" not "knight" (in my opinion) Toby fox doesnt use songs for heavy lore drops, and if he suddenly does, then he would probably have implied the lore drop earlier. Spamton never implies the knight being on the phone (he does mention him, but that dialogue is very limited), its much more possible it being mike because it seems spamton has a great amount of resentment/hate towards him (calling him a criminal and all that)
@@LambTAFFF that is an excellent point, especially when you think about how Gaster was most likely the one who called Spamton in the first place, so if he was saying “knight” it would imply that the knight is Gaster. That is still a possibility, but highly unlikely after what we saw at the end of Chapter 2, with the whole Kris cutscene
This particular version makes it hard to hear the "lyrics" properly (better to listen to on Toby Fox's Bandcamp WITH HEADPHONES) But here's my definitive take on the lyrics, after several headphone listens, vocal isolations, slowing down, etc. Lyrics: (I) Think he's coming for me, answer the phone I can't wait here all alone (could be I can't wait (un)til' you're all alone) He pulls the strings, and makes them ring. Until your heart can't keep breaking up (honestly 50/50 on this, but breaking up is definitely how it ends.) this and the world revolving's names are capitalized. idk if it means anything, but i feel like since both holders (shadow crystal holders) have it, it must mean something. and if future holders' song names are capitalized, then it HAS to mean something. maybe someone who knows how to look into game files can find a connection.
So he has clips of the all these other fight themes PS Flowey, Napstablook/Mad Dummy, Mettaton Neo and Jevil (and probably more) This guy is a whole bootleg and it fits his character so well 😂
"Please, mike, answer the phone, hands on the top, pull the strings an- pul the strings an- don't you wanna be a big shot?" That's what i think the lyrics are

Toby Fox makes amazing songs only for them to go to Littleguy Funnyman and honestly? I love that. manlets with a banger theme is something I find hilarious
i feel like one of the reasons people say Jevil's fight is harder than Spamton NEO is just the better gear you can get after chapter 1 and the extra HP you get from becoming LV 2 after sealing the fountain, i feel like Spamton NEO could be even harder with only chapter 1 gear and hp and without S-Action and R-Action
[SPOILERS FOR ALTERNATE ROUTE] I finally beat him on the alternate route today after trying for hours the weekend I got to him and then not even wanting to try for two weeks after. I can't believe how much more difficult that was than his pacifist route fight, especially since his attacks aren't random. At least the music slapped. That might have been the only thing keeping me going.
Yeah I think the fight is much harder by yourself. No Ralsei heals. No powerhouse mean girl. Just you and him. And yeah his attacks aren't randomized but it definitely feels like they hit harder.
why does everyone keeps talking about Gaster like he's some kinda [BIG SHOT]? Come on guys, almost all of your theories start and end with "it's Gaster lmao".
gee it's almost like people think that because half of the songs in the game have some kinda gaster lietmotif (including the secret bosses) thinking that gaster has nothing to do with deltarune is more stupid than thinking he is in it
@@heartbae87 Gaster lietmotif? Where? You do realize Gaster's theme is a very simple melody with only 4 notes. It'll be very easy to mistake certain parts of any song for Gaster's "lietmotif", ESPECIALLY when you reach INCREDIBLY hard, like every single person who immediately just slaps Gaster into any damn theory they make into this game. Sure, no one should rule out Gaster, but it's incredibly stupid and *lazy* to just put all the blame onto that guy. He's low hanging fruit. Just because he's this mysterious creepy person, he's already the reason for all other mysterious creepy ideas. Can't you think of anything better? More clever? Or are you just going to slap the Gaster label onto anything just because it *vaguely* resembles that 4-note song and just because the letter "G" comes up somewhere?
@@AnkaaAvarshina it's a simple motif for a reason, really clever too. You are gonna be hearing those notes in places other than Deltarune and undertale. Fitting with the whole "shattered across time and space" thing
This song actually made the fight harder for me. The music was so distracting that I had to turn the music off to actually beat the fight. Still a bop outside the fight tho
What if Jevil was once like how Spamton currently is at one point (why he got locked in the prison) and after a period of time Spamton removes Gaster and becomes "free" like Jevil is?
Really hope Jevil, Spamton NEO and whoever follows that don’t unlock something real major down the line. Would suck to do full replays over to unlock whatever that is, cuz you HAVE to defeat them before the final boss of each area. 🗿
At least you can go back and beat jevil after you completed chapter 2 by going into your ch 1 save, but from now on I guess you just have to keep the secret bosses in mind so you don't miss them
My immediate thoughts were going to it possibly unlocking something like the Grand Elements did _way_ back in OFF: An alternate, absolutely *_STUPID_* ending. It sounds exactly like the mockery of 100% completionism Toby Fox would do without deviating from Deltarune's "your choices *don't* matter" theme.
I've been stuck on being unable to beat jevil on my first deltarune playthrough, never was able to take out jevil and i was too stubborn to skip them, Only when chapter 2 came out did i give up on jevil then i beat my homeboy spamton neo, went to rematch jevil and won on a new save spamton is a real big shot help innit?
i feel like alot of people sleep on this part 1:35 its personally my fav part of the song with what practically sounds like a electric guitar and kinda a nice flow from the climax part of the song it also kinda carries that feeling of riding down the rails very intense you can feel the tension as you are trying ride along side spamton and stop him
The fact Metaton NEO looks so similar to Spamton brings up a lot pf questions. For example, did Alphys get the idea for Metaton's body from going to the Dark World in Undertale? Who knows.
@@PoipoleBoi i meant in deltarune metaton designed the body in the lab and threw it away, hence why in the dark world its abandoned in a basement. In Undertale i guess metaton gave alphys the design and she made it happen
I Think Neo is Gasters design, Alphys just followed the blueprints, if so, then the pink goo machine will be quite literally be her only original invention
At 3:29 if you listen closely it sounds as if someone (presumably spamtom) is saying something along the lines of "please mike answer the phone, Hands on top, pull the strings and make em ring, don't you want to be free? please mike answer the phone, hands on top, pull the things and pull the strings and, TELL ME WHAT YOUR REALLY SELLING!" Maybe it a little reference to when spamton was no longer a [BIG SHOT] and was calling mike for help, but hey that's just a theory, A GAME THEORY
same but i hear "tell me what your voice is" instead of "tell me what you're really selling" at the end. it's weird because i don't think anybody else has mentioned this. originally i thought it might be referring to gaster in some strange way. it doesn't really fit the lore though

Theres honestly so much going on here and I find something new every time i listen, its ridiculously impressive how Toby not only made a new composition but also managed to include all the rest of his motifs, made it meaningful and relevant, *all without making it cluttered*- this man deserves all the credit possible
I love how Toby fox sampled his own songs to make this.

Bruh, you forgot "The World Revolving" you little [sponge]

I'm pretty sure insread of 'all the suspense is making me wait' it's 'pull the strings and make them ring' which I'm pretty sure is flavour text in his fight at some point.
@@dermo5018 could be that. People also think that instead of saying “knight”, he’s saying “mike”
Knight is probably more likely though
@@Evelyn_onfire i personally think its
"Please answer me, please answer the phone" if that's not it, then its "mike" not "knight" (in my opinion)
Toby fox doesnt use songs for heavy lore drops, and if he suddenly does, then he would probably have implied the lore drop earlier.
HELLO?
BASED DEPARTMENT?
IT'S FOR YOU.
IT'S FOR ME?
This particular version makes it hard to hear the "lyrics" properly (better to listen to on Toby Fox's Bandcamp WITH HEADPHONES)
But here's my definitive take on the lyrics, after several headphone listens, vocal isolations, slowing down, etc.
Lyrics:
(I) Think he's coming for me, answer the phone
I can't wait here all alone (could be I can't wait (un)til' you're all alone)
He pulls the strings, and makes them ring.
Until your heart can't keep breaking up (honestly 50/50 on this, but breaking up is definitely how it ends.)
Think he's coming for me (ᵗʰᶦⁿᵏ ʰᵉ'ˢ ᶜᵒᵐᶦⁿᵍ ᶠᵒʳ ᵐᵉ) answer the phone (ᵃⁿˢʷᵉʳ ᵗʰᵉ ᵖʰᵒⁿᵉ

Pulls the strings and
Pulls the strings and (I'll tell you what, you big SHOT)
Notes
- The I on the first line is not in the audio, I just put it there for grammatical reasons.
- The second line is literally impossible to decipher as either of the two options, they both sound the exact same if you say them out loud (the un is inaudible).
- The 4th line is the most difficult by FAR, could also be I'll tell you how much it's ringing ('it's ringing' is overlapped with 'breaking up')
- Breaking up is phone lingo for losing signal, further connecting it to Spamton himself.
- The tiny text in the second verse is the echo.
this and the world revolving's names are capitalized. idk if it means anything, but i feel like since both holders (shadow crystal holders) have it, it must mean something. and if future holders' song names are capitalized, then it HAS to mean something. maybe someone who knows how to look into game files can find a connection.
nows your chance to be a is also capitialized
gaster always speaks wingdings in all caps. both jevil & spamton's themes are in all caps, plus they both most likely have met gaster.
1st song. NOWS YOUR CHANCE TO BE A. 2nd song. BIG SHOT
connect them and you get
NOWS YOUR CHANCE TO BE A BIG SHOT
both characters also seem to speak in all caps
it's probably an empheisis on how crazy the bosses are
Imagine walking outside and this starts to play
So he has clips of the all these other fight themes
PS Flowey, Napstablook/Mad Dummy, Mettaton Neo and Jevil (and probably more)
This guy is a whole bootleg and it fits his character so well 😂
"Please, mike, answer the phone, hands on the top, pull the strings an- pul the strings an- don't you wanna be a big shot?"

The entire damn Deltarune fanbase after seeing "BIG SHOT" for Splatoon 3's "Salmon run":
i feel like one of the reasons people say Jevil's fight is harder than Spamton NEO is just the better gear you can get after chapter 1 and the extra HP you get from becoming LV 2 after sealing the fountain, i feel like Spamton NEO could be even harder with only chapter 1 gear and hp and without S-Action and R-Action
I would love a boss fight in Chapter 3 where its Jevil And Spamton teaming up to try and kill you, with both of their mechanics merged into One Fight.
[SPOILERS FOR ALTERNATE ROUTE]
I finally beat him on the alternate route today after trying for hours the weekend I got to him and then not even wanting to try for two weeks after.
That because you're alone. Without the party members, you can't do much. You only gived 1 turn like any RPGs would.

Yeah lol, kinda annoying that every Secret boss character was theorized as Gaster.
gee it's almost like people think that because half of the songs in the game have some kinda gaster lietmotif (including the secret bosses)
thinking that gaster has nothing to do with deltarune is more stupid than thinking he is in it
@@heartbae87 Gaster lietmotif? Really hope Jevil, Spamton NEO and whoever follows that don’t unlock something real major down the line. Would suck to do full replays over to unlock whatever that is, cuz you HAVE to defeat them before the final boss of each area. 🗿
At least you can go back and beat jevil after you completed chapter 2 by going into your ch 1 save, but from now on I guess you just have to keep the secret bosses in mind so you don't miss them
@@ragnello_ I’m hoping you can do that for every secret boss.
My immediate thoughts were going to it possibly unlocking something like the Grand Elements did _way_ back in OFF: An alternate, absolutely *_STUPID_* ending. The fact Metaton NEO looks so similar to Spamton brings up a lot pf questions. For example, did Alphys get the idea for Metaton's body from going to the Dark World in Undertale? Who knows.
I think it was an abandoned design by metaton in the computer lab or something
@@needlebodkin7693 but how did alphys come up with the idea if Spamton is the original carrier?
