Wow! I'm from Indiana and they just busted a lady for keeping large amounts of amounts of money by inflating the amounts of homeless staying at her hotel. There are many Christian homeless shelters.

I had my business in a building adjacent to the freeway here in Lawndale California. The homeless population along the freeway were breaking into our secure parking structure and burglarized the tools and materials from both of my work vans. I found some of my belongings in one of the tents. Called the Sheriff - they said there is nothing they could do, that their hands were tied. The emboldened homeless population went on to STEAL one of the vans and vandalize the ignition of the other one. I had one of my cars there as well which they would break into, hotbox, have sex in and leave me grossly misspelled taunting notes. I ended up clucking the car - a 2009 V8 BMW M3, and moving my business to Gardena where the city police did not have their 'hands tied' It was at this point that I realized that the government was part of the problem and extorting me for tax dollars under threat of property seizure. THEN - the Franchise Tax Board started sending me letters that companies like mine usually make more money and that my tax liability had been reassessed at a higher 'estimated' rate. They ended up levying our stock portfolio and bank accounts, putting a Lien on a small aircraft I own and then erected barrier after barrier to resolving the issue. Now that I told them I have figured out who they really are, I offered to surrender the aircraft since, now it's TAINTED with a lien, and they declined to do that. These people are evil - they steal from productive people in order to launder the money into their pockets in the name of 'programs' Can't wait for the pitchfork revolution.

Yes, they were in my front yard for 6 years until the county forced ME to take down their tent, threatening to charge ME $1,000/day and file criminal charges against ME. They wouldn't leave, because they had no incentive, so to avoid the big fines, I had to take them into my house, and now they've taken over my house and enslaved me with their threats of law suits if I try to evict them. It's a very complicated situation. I saw one case where a man was afraid that if he moved in the shelters, the government would get into his brain, or something like that. But some people can be helped.

The market is a fairest way for people to value what real estate is about…location, location, location. The real problem is regulating boarding houses out of existence. Google “what happened to boarding houses?” According to Google, boarding houses have been regulated out of existence. Boarding houses were the cheapest way to live as recently as the 1980’s (when there was real inflation). The Blues Brothers (1980) has a lot of scenes in Chicago area boarding houses. Another instance of government regulation ruining a good thing. Regulation can be used for good or evil.
In almost every instance, a person being homeless isn’t about affordable housing. It’s about anti-social, drug addicted, people with mental problems who need our compassion. Compassion means we give these people options…either a state mental hospital, drug rehab, or jail.
Of course, once given those options most people will have a “moment of clarity” and figure out a way off the streets without going to drug rehab, jail, or a mental hospital. That’s compassion…demanding people take responsibility for their problems and trying to help them. Ultimately, they need to be born-again in Christ. Christ offers forgiveness of all sins, eternal life, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps a person turn away from sins and toward the eternal love of God in Christ Jesus. There are many Christian homeless shelters.
It makes me wonder what politicians coming into town. That's the only time when they want to clean up a certain section is when other politicians show up.

All of the homeless interviewed were high on drugs. This issues has many layers to it. There needs to drug rehab, community housing as well as instutautional housing as alot are dealing with mental illness.

In LA county, rent is up now since pandemic around $4000/mo while income hasn’t really changed at $17/hr and necessities like food, utilities etc up 150% since Ukraine, Israel war couple years back. Average working people CAN’T afford to be housed anymore, lost job during pandemic then got evicted when moratorium expired Jan 2023. Meanwhile, a lot of high priced NEW housing going up by investment companies which stays empty. We need more affordable housing NOW instead of making homelessness illegal. I called the DPW (dept of public work) to clear the homeless encampment. They told me to call the district police office. I called the police office and they told me to call DPW. I’m like just get your butt here and dismantle the tent city.
Yep!! I kept telling the police that intersection at my residence dangerous multiple crashes every year and they need to do something like speed bumps, make left turn signal etc to stop speeders. They say they can’t do anything about it, not their job. Called city finally after a DEATH of 5 year old and grandmother broken ribs by car hit & run here while they crossed the crosswalk. City tells me it’s police jurisdiction, so back to square one 😓
I had my business in a building adjacent to the freeway here in Lawndale California. The homeless population along the freeway were breaking into our secure parking structure and burglarized the tools and materials from both of my work vans. I found some of my belongings in one of the tents. Called the Sheriff - they said there is nothing they could do, that their hands were tied. The emboldened homeless population went on to STEAL one of the vans and vandalize the ignition of the other one. I had one of my cars there as well which they would break into, hotbox, have sex in and leave me grossly misspelled taunting notes.
I ended up clucking the car - a 2009 V8 BMW M3, and moving my business to Gardena where the city police did not have their 'hands tied' It was at this point that I realized that the government was part of the problem and extorting me for tax dollars under threat of property seizure.
THEN - the Franchise Tax Board started sending me letters that companies like mine usually make more money and that my tax liability had been reassessed at a higher 'estimated' rate. They ended up levying our stock portfolio and bank accounts, putting a Lien on a small aircraft I own and then erected barrier after barrier to resolving the issue. Now that I told them I have figured out who they really are, I offered to surrender the aircraft since, now it's TAINTED with a lien, and they declined to do that.
These people are evil - they steal from productive people in order to launder the money into their pockets in the name of 'programs'

They can’t get apartment your rents are to high. Tiny houses are one of many solutions. 2. California has always been a little nutty with rents. 2. Veterans, elderly and disabled are stuck with fixed income add that to landlords, even if you paid your rent on time. Landlords evict people to get more from new tenants. Just because you can does not make it right!!

As someone who is homeless and have been living in my car in Los Angeles for 3 years, it’s about damn time; better late than never💯. Granted, I work and drive a luxury car to live in, many do not have anything. Those are the ones you help first plus seniors and veterans. As a homeless advocate, we can’t continue to commit crimes, take over the streets, schools, beaches, bridges, neighborhoods, and sleep near churches juxtaposed the drug addicts who feel like they are exempt from abiding by laws. Now, it’s time to CLEAN & CLEAR DTLA👍🏿🙏🏿.

Yes, they were in my front yard for 6 years until the county forced ME to take down their tent, threatening to charge ME $1,000/day and file criminal charges against ME. They wouldn't leave, because they had no incentive, so to avoid the big fines, I had to take them into my house, and now they've taken over my house and enslaved me with their threats of law suits if I try to evict them. It's a nightmare I can't recover from.

The people who really wanted to be housed went into motel/ hotel rooms for shelter. The riff raff chose to do their own thing. The time is up for the riff raff to move off the trains, buses, parks and sidewalks. No more loitering in and around public libraries. Move elsewhere.
