Oh thank god it's relatively simple to shift and it isn't the usual noita flavor of using quantum entanglement to travel to a tangential worldspace then summon the black hole near the eyes to summon and kill your sleep paralysis demon, after which the game crashes and your new run shifts a random material
But there's also this one book halfway across 18 parallel universes found by killing God himself with a watermelon that says "quantum stuff", so you're not TOTALLY in the dark
lol You think it's actually that hard to find secrets? You obviously don't know about the song you can play on both of the secret musical wands by switching between them mid-cast that requires three sets of notes from both parallel worlds and using perks to double the capacity of both wands so that you can play the notes you find written on the background behind every orb-room boss which you can only see once you've defeated all of them simultaneously within the span of a minute. After that, you get a *permanent* dot near your character which points to the nearest watermelon.
@@CheshireCad I don't know if this is a joke... because it kinda totally fits into the Noitaverse and the devs would totally include such a random item
A funny one is when vomit is replaced with something, because then whenever you get sick, you barf up that material from now on, which can lead to some hilarious situations of either strongly avoiding, or desperately trying to keep yourself sick so you can barf constantly all the time.
I had a run where my shifting broke the game in a great way. My first shift was blood to polymorphine, which obviously was quite bad. My second shift was polymorphine to acid, which was far better but didn't solve the problem that all blood was still polymorphine. So I did a third shift. I put some transformed polymorphine (formerly blood) in a flask and did another shift but it made oil into transformed polymorphine as well. I was saddened, until I realized that the transformed polymorphine (of either blood or oil) didn't transform me. The game broke and made transformed polymorphine into a 'neutral' liquid, which removed stains like water but did nothing else unless I put it into a flask and drunk it. At that point, it could either have the effects of poly, oil or acid. I continued my run and everyone who joined the stream would always freak out as I would be teleporting into endless pools of polymorphine. I did keep the save file, I will look where you like having weird seeds posted as you might wanna check it out. Some of the more tech savy people said it looked like I had done like 5+ shifts despite only doing 3.
Thanks for sharing, man. That sounds fun! Shifting does have some strange results and can end up with you turning your world into a sort of weird "jelly state" where solids aren't really solid and other such oddities.
fungal shift is such a useful mechanic, some useful shifts I've had recently are blood to ambrosia (not fun in hisii base), and acid to smoke. Pretty cool being able to influence rare materials to spawn more often, or dangerous materials to spawn less often.
@@namelessarcuve For a moment Noita guy became a spitter from Left for dead 2 Then he remembered that he was ailve and spitters are zombies so he killed himself out of confusion
My most recent shift was water to molten gold which was awesome but also very dangerous, luckily I found fire immunity and i've been able to make it to the end.
In my run earlier I shifted lava to fungus. Not knowing that being submerged in fungus would deprive me of oxygen, I promptly went and jumped into the lava-lake-turned-fungal-forest and immediately drowned as I couldn't fly back out in time.
The shift groups are super weird, I shifted away polymorph and unstable polymorph remained. Also there's way to make solids turn into liquids and gasses take on the properties of other fluids. Also you can bottle up mists to have mist of anything! Fungal shifting is really cool af.
My favorite was gas to lively concoction. I put the slimeball?(can't remember the name of the spell) spell on a wand and all the gas that continuously came from the wand just filled you to max lc so infinite healing.
Fun one was shifting lava into worm blood when I had all the eating perks. Drank from the lava lake to about 20000% nourishment and enjoyed my god wands with absolutely ridiculous damage outputs. A bit less fun was when I shifted snow into ominous liquid...
One of the most "fun" shifts I've done was during a Noita Together session: water to lava. The Snowy Depths and Hiisi Base were an obstacle course of lava falls and lava lakes. It was amazing.
@romaliop yep! Also, the lava melted the snow, which, instead of water, turned into more lava :D So it was a mad dash to get to the bottom and into a portal before the entire bottom of the levels flooded and became inaccessible. Hiisi Base was even more crazy because of all the molten metal and explosions everywhere, haha.
Tried this for the first time last night, it was great. Shifted toxic ooze to vomit then got the rat buff. I commanded a large army of rats to do my bidding.
Damn the last few days I was wondering what this exactly is and does, thanks for the video! I am currently getting better at building wands, but I still struggle to do long runs, like visiting parallel worlds or something like that. Your videos are really motivating to keep playing
I got into my first long run today, thanks to your videos i managed to beat mage king and now i am in first parrarel world all i can say is luminous drill is the best
My favourite shifts were probably toxic sludge to ambrosia, having a toxic slime shooting balls of ambrosia at me, smoke to urine, making a wand that emitted smoke particles due to a fire spell constantly spray urine everywhere, and water to LC when I got a water stone. It's such a unique mechanic and the randomness of it makes it unpredictable in the best way.
Been seeing multiple posts about certain seeds fungal shifts but had no idea what it is. Thanks to this video I now know why noita is top tier and respect it even more.
I had a flask of blood in one run and Blood got turned into alchenic precursor. The next ingredients to nake midas in that run was Snow and Water.... i accidentally turned the entire frozen cave into gold when enemies started killing each other
One thing I've noticed that I don't think was mentioned in the video is that when the shift first happens, sometimes I get the shifted material dropped on me as it happens. Once or twice I've had something shift into Acid, and then had Acid drop on me and take away a bunch of my health. I could be crazy, but I'm very sure I've seen it happen.
Whatever you shift will always drop a small amount of that shifted material onto the ground around you, this is why its safer to shift in the air as most of the new material wont touch you.

i got an early fungus shift recently that shifted lava to brine, so i cheesed the bridge boss and also claimed the nuke orb finally, draining that lava lake was so satisfying :D
I spent about 3 hours looking for a Lava -> Blood wand to go orb hunting... and the very first fungal shift in that world was Lava -> Whiskey. Yaaaaaaaay
I personally prefer shifting only at early game, if i will get something terrible, not much lost, if something good (like acid to sand) i accept it. I must say in last time the most funny run was the one where blood became poly, at least it bringed some emotions. I discovered something interesting: shifting magical liquid to something else changes texture of shields, but its barely possible to get it in bottle without contact damage.
Yup, I saw some posts about that on the Discord. Very interesting stuff that I'll be messing around with at some point in my "everything run" I've been streaming.
is it more often that two materials in flasks have a larger chance to change into each other? whenever i fungal shift i usually do ambrosia or berserkium, but i sometimes accidentally eat something like rotten meat, vomit gets into the flask and they turn into it! most god-like runs i did ended because of this

The first fungal shift is smoke -> held flask, so all my smoke is alchemic precursor. The next fungal shift is oil -> held flask, so all my oil is draught of midas. I also rerolled the first perks and took more blood, not sure if that's also set by the seed, but it seems to affect the oil lamps? They bleed a ton of oil (which is now midas) In the fungal caverns, there's also a kivaskivi (fire stone). I was hoping for the passive wand flame torch thing to constantly make smoke, but the kivaskivi is even better. So just holding it, it pours alchemic precursor all over the floor. I'm just paranoid I'm going to accidentally anger the gods and get blasted by steve before I can turn the planet to gold. EDIT: The Holy Mountain after the ice caves has the perk Oil Blood. I clipped myself with a plasma beam and flooded the holy mountain with midas. Infinite Gold run I guess.
I got a fungal shift and after that, every explosion caused the creation of peat, and once it touched a little bit of liquid, the liquid began infinitely growing and flooded the entire world.
Most funniest thing would be blood to lc (lively concoction) then you will have no stress going fighting anything ,i know if that doesn't exist but think of it
I have had this game in my library for nearly a year at this point. I've played it for like 5 hours before I realised that my entire brain had shrivled up and died under how little I understood about what the fuck was going on.
I had a REALLY good run going where i had everything needed for parallel world domination and new game+ loops but tried turning something into healthium for convenience since i had to collect rotten meat as the catalyst in large quantities which was REALLY annoying. JUST to have my flask of the little healthium i could salvage turn into steam. An hour of collecting rotten meat, mud, and chaotic polymorph Up in literal smoke. Was tilted so i just finished the work and ended the run there.
I fungal shifted water into ambrosia, bruh, like bruh in a way that i probably cant kill anything anymore, and its gonna be crazy with a water trail, but then also i have repelling cape so a 100% ambrosia stain lasts for like maybe 2 seconds max, tested and its not even a second.
Hey Fury! I know you like cool seed and speaking of fungal shifts I played a daily recently: 1300080804 On the second floor fungal caverns, on the right almost at the bottom there's a flask of ambrosia and it fungal shifts smoke into it. In the first holy mountain there's a wand with fire orbit wich produces a lot of smoke. Also you probably want enough gold for 1 reroll, so go for around 400 gold on the first floor.
I had the worst shift once. Had the extra blood perk and did a fungal shift with a acid bottle. I do the shift, get back “acid” to no change on my bottle…….turns out blood got turned into acid…..I was only in the second biome.
I managed to convert the Live Gunpowder variant in a bottle to... drumroll please! Ordinary gunpowder. Unfortunately I got obliterated by a lightning elemental before I could try it out.
Mhmm. I know every material in the game, unless there are any SUPER hidden ones related to the cauldron. It's "fungus" though, so didn't warrant an extra mention. Now, if you were to tell me you knew how to make *fungus_secret_creeping* then I'd want to know how (it's not the same as mystery fungus.)
I love this mechanic but when i do eat 180+ seconds of fungus and then hold a flask of somthing i want to change it just doesn't do anything. I don't get any announcement saying somethings changed. The eyes appear but no text comes up. Idl what to do
@@FuryForged I can't fungal shift at all is the problem. This isnt between shifts or anything I've never fungal shifted before. pretty sure it's a technical problem
Are you using mods? It's possible a mod is changing things, because in the vanilla game there is literally no way to avoid fungal shifting if you have at least 180 seconds of the fungus/tripping status effect...unless you're using an old version of the game from before fungal shifts.

Now, if you were to tell me you knew how to make *fungus_secret_creeping* then I'd want to know how (it's not the same as mystery fungus.)
@@FuryForged now im on ran 1800 hp and 2 super wands i will tray so hard to do any thing new to tell you pro 💎
I once had lava shift to puke...
I love this mechanic but when i do eat 180+ seconds of fungus and then hold a flask of somthing i want to change it just doesn't do anything. I don't get any announcement saying somethings changed. The eyes appear but no text comes up. Idl what to do
You have to wait 5 minutes between shifts. Otherwise, any time you have 180 seconds of the fungus status, you will trigger one.
