I just came back from his live concert in Budapest. Every single song flawlessly preformed. He did “one sky” which is what he is all about really. Check out the music video/ film he made with it. Very special but with so many details that you are going to need sufficient time to experience it. It is a game changer, it really is. I recommend checking out the Chinese(Mandarin) version called "Autumn Strong" as well, more specifically the performance from his Arnau Concert in Kiev. The live setting adds a different kind of magic I feel, and though the song itself is similar(at least in melody) he doesn't sing it quite the same.

Yes, I understand your silence at the end. Dimash always puts so much emotion into his voice, especially with songs like this, based on a true story which was such a sad situation. I’m 71 and have listened to music since the late ‘60s. There is no one, and there will be no one like Dimash. A set of circumstances (known very early he has perfect pitch; born to a family immersed in music; sent to music and voice training school since age 5; practices at LEAST three hours a day; parents performed on stage, which he joined at 2; a very grounded and decent up-bringing in a large extended family (Islamic); top-notch voice coaches…), and by the grace of God he is what he is! I only have one child (daughter), so I adopted Dimash the first time I heard him 🥰 😁

Yes, I understand your silence at the end. Dimash always puts so much emotion into his voice, especially with songs like this, based on a true story which was such a sad situation. When asked about his vocal range he says that conveying emotions is more important than his range, which he absolutely does to perfection.

I’m 71 and have listened to music since the late ‘60s. There is no one, and there will be no one like Dimash. A set of circumstances (known very early he has perfect pitch; born to a family immersed in music; sent to music and voice training school since age 5; practices at LEAST three hours a day; parents performed on stage, which he joined at 2; a very grounded and decent up-bringing in a large extended family (Islamic); top-notch voice coaches…), and by the grace of God he is what he is! I only have one child (daughter), so I adopted Dimash the first time I heard him 🥰 😁
Only such great music and art can make one handsome man look at another handsome man in such a loving way... It's the time when souls just meet and they don't need anything but music to talk. Dimash is just someone who makes my soul wake up and feel like I'm reaching all the other souls in the world at once. You feel yourself more than just a lonely person when you hear his voice. 👉 Dimash sang Ikanaide (live and for the first time in Japanese) on the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021(in his studio). Because of the pandemic, the annual Tokyo Jazz Festival took place online again. Filmmakers verify that the videos have not been edited and manipulated, so the singer sings live.

The original song Ikanaide was composed in 1989 by Koji Tamaki (*1958) singer and songwriter, the lyrics come from one of his lyricists Goro Matsui.
In the same year, the song was used as the theme song for a Chinese-Japanese television series Farewell, Lixianglan, about the Japanese woman Yoshiko Yamaguchi (*1920 - † 2014) a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan and became famous in China. However, when the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy. She was deported to Japan and longed for China. Ms. Yamaguchi did not return to China until many years as deputy environment minister in the Japanese parliament. The song is a metaphor as the lyrics speak of how a person should hide what they are feeling.
Koji Tamaki sent a wonderful message to Dimash, thanking him, and praising him for singing his song in Japanese.

Dimash's Japan Fan Club asked the famous Japanese author of lyrics of 'Ikanaide' Goro Matsui about his emotions at Dimash performance. It's one of his favorite songs:
"… I heard Dimash singing "Ikanaide" by accident. The first thing that impressed me was his crystal clear tone and expressive voice. I heard other Asian artists perform the song many times, but despite their magnificent vocal skills, none seemed to capture the true meaning of the original lyrics. In the chorus of the song, the line "Ah, Ikanaide" is repeated several times. And although these are the same words, each line has a different meaning. And it seems to me that Dimash felt it. "

The Chinese (Autuumn Strong) and Japanese (Ikanaide/ Please, Don’t Go) versions have completely different lyrics and meanings… and of course Dimash sings both very differently:
- The Chinese version shows the image of leaves dancing in the autumn wind as a metaphor for the passage of time, a farewell and change...sad but inevitable and irrevocable
- The Japanese version does not want to accept the loss of a loved one, is full of pain, begs, suffers... heartbreaking.
I'm totally mesmerized by how sensitively Dimash differentiates and conveys to the listener the feelings of sadness and loneliness in the Chinese version and loss and pain in the Japanese version. Even his whispers and his breath are music... it breaks my heart and the tears flow... and at the end everyone suddenly holds their breath, we hear Dimash breathing, then a deep and comforting hum.
I've never heard anything like that from other singers in my entire life. Only Dimash can do that. This is true mastery.
