I just entered Vault 81 on my current playthrough last night, and I'm using a mod that allows a companion + dogmeat. I was surprised when both were mentioned by the security officer. More evidence that dogmeat was supposed to be like the dog in previous titles.
I think that script checks only if Dogmeat is present during conversation, not really proving what they planned to do with him, but of course can't deny it. Just not the proof.
@@ignacytkacz3513 I guess there really isn't a way to *prove* it, but you can't have dogmeat with another companion at any point during the story. I had Strong and dogmeat and the security officer said "what about his friend and dog", which to me implied that was meant to be a thing without mods.
Yeah the caps are not really about the vault paying for the fusion cores. The fusion cores are payment to the vault for being allowed inside. My best guess is that the handful of caps are just a tiny bonus so the player doesn't feel like the fusion cores were completely wasted.
I just wish the armor on Kellogg's Outfit was on the right arm, instead of the left, we lose alot of that armor since the Pipboy takes up too much space.
I love how the NPCs talk shit to you when you could clear out that entire Vault without needing so much as a Stimpak. "I got two words for _you_ , mate... Banked. Critical."
@@Birkebeiner1066 that's fine. Like when Diamond City Security calls you "scavver". I'm not the one who grew up in a house made of garbage, in the middle of a repurposed ballpark. 😆
They do that with almost every companion. I hate these channels coming after the next gen update just to document things people knew already like 6-7 years ago.

She watched the show and saw that not allowing dogs in the vaults is probably a bad idea
"what about the dog?"
Dude. It's a fucking dog.

@@WindierCrowd683 Ok, now you've elaborated on that, I see it. Seems like you're right
same thing happened to me with that mod but someplace else. I forget where.
100 caps for 3 fusion cores is actual robbery

Pulls out a little red inhaler, "I got two words for you as well buddy: Quick. Save." Hits the jet and pulls a fatman out of nowhere-!
See now you're just justifying their paranoia

They say the same thing about Strong.
And Maccready!
In one playthrough i gave them three cores at 0% charge (reload the Gatling laser when there's one round left)
You evil bastard
I like you
That’s so petty I love it ❤
IMHO, the funniest companion to bring to the Vault 81 is Strong.
I like how the context in this case makes it sound like she's talking about dogmeat choosing his friends rather than the player.
You basically get the same thing no matter who you bring
I got the same with my follower, and I forget who I brought
They do that with almost every companion.
