Oh how I miss the golden years of GH. I was only 13 years old when I started watching it with my grandma. I miss the old stories, the faces and how well the stories were woven, unlike today....I consider the golden years of GH from 1977 - 1986. I miss Jessie and nurse Amy at the desk. I miss Leslie and Monica.... Alan and Rick. Gloria Monty made GH what it was... and I wish she were still alive and writing this show. Then we wouldn't have suffered with Sonny, Carly, Jason and all of the rest of those awful stories.
ICAM! I ran home from high school to watch GH- I still watch today, but FF through a lot of Sonny and Carly and Jason aka The Unholy Trinity. This was my favorite era, followed by the 1992-96 era. I have been very lucky to have met both Denise Alexander and Leslie Charleson- why don't they give Monica a love interest? Sure, they give a romance to Sonny's father but not to the show's longest running actress?
I agree! I loved GH for most of the 90s as well. I think Jason, Sonny and Carly all had great story for most of the 90s. But by the year 2000 the Corinthos mob stories got very old fast. And the Qs, Webber, Baldwins etc were pushed aside. Sadly by then both John Beridino ( Steve Hardy) and Emily Mc Laughlin ( Jessie ) had passed away. So GH lost its heart and soul. I dont think it ever really recovered. I tried to hang on as a viewer but I quit by 2012 after Tony Geary retired and I havent looked back.
Laura Collins, now the mayor of Port Charles. Half sister to Cyrus the drug kingpin and and attorney Martin (Tad) Grey,. glad to see Michael Knight again.. Love the use of the name Martin ( a tribute to All My Children fame)... So fun watching GH again from a different perspective.
Romabriere refers to the "Iron Mountain" because it's the term used for the storage facility where these episodes were lifted from. The Networks and film studios have a salt mine in Kansas, where they store and preserve their history. These episodes featured all contain "clips" that were used on ABC's home video of L and L on the Run in 1994. It's likely that whoever pulled these for the video back then made copies of the episodes too. Fortunately for us! These are great!! Hope there is more!
That's why all episodes are with her fully clothed and the men's feet are always firmly on the floor, even in bed. Luke and Laura had to wait to undress until Genie was legally of age.
I think she said that the other cast members would stop talking when she came up to them because she was under 18 so they could not talk to her about things like sex and dating. She said she felt kind of isolated on the set.
I HATED it when the writers took Dan from Jessie and paired him up with Ruby. Mind you, I loved Aunt Ruby, but Dan was Jessie's guy and she needed happiness.
You can say that again. I remember Phill through most of the 70s when he wasnt hitting on Diana or someone else he breaking Jessie's heart in some other way. I wish I couldve seen the old episodes of him in the 60s when Roy Thinnes was playing the role but I wasnt born until 1964. To this day the Who Killed Phil murder mystery in 1974 remains one of my favorite soap mysteries. I thought it was so sad how Jessie cradled the corpse when she found him on the floor of Lesley's office of all people! Lol.
@@Avatar610 was there a reason Jessie and Dan stopped seeing each other? I’ve been watching old episodes and I have never seen anything that explains it. One minute they are going on vacation and Dan wants to marry Jessie and the next one Jessie is being accused of getting jealous over Dan and Ruby dating. I really loved Dan and Jessie together

I can't believe I'm saying this but, I can't stand current day Laura. A character who bears no resemblance to her past. A former metal patient now mayor? Totally out of character.
Yes am so sorry to sayit! What they did to LAURA'S character does suck "BIG TIME" THEY SHOULD have made her even more interesting and stronger! Laura went through to much to turnout tone just another fromp to afraid to open her mouth and tell the whole truth To Luke,Tracy and Sonny and last but not least her son Lucky! No the real Laura if they stop and think about it longer. Laura was a real winner..but sadly they took that away from her and gave it all to Luke?????!!!!! JMVHO! PEACE & LOVE Rosie!
It's nice to see stories about older characters like Dan and Jessie.
I'm so grateful for these shows. Thank you for keeping them posted.
No one will ever replace young Genie Francis in daytime history.
Here!! Here!!!!!
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER GENIE FRANCIS. E V E R!!
Mature Genie is just as fabulous! I love her. She’s my favorite actress!
Absolutely 😊😊😊

Gloria Monty was the EP. I think the writer was Marland if he had not gone to GL yet.
Jessie Brewer, LOL! The original, beloved heroine of the show.
The woman IS A LEGEND!!!

Great stuff. Fascinating interaction of characters.

Genie Francis natural Beauty
Laura is only 18 here....she is a little girl living a grown woman's world.
And Genie is only just 17.
That's why all episodes are with her fully clothed and the men's feet are always firmly on the floor, even in bed. Luke and Laura had to wait to undress until Genie was legally of age.
This storyline would never fly together, they would call Luke a pedophile.

@@admetric I can believe it. It is tough being the ONLY girl child on set.
and 33 year old Tony Geary 🤢🤮
I didn't realize how much Julie Berman looks like Genie Francis when she was young
When she was a baby the actress that played her looked nothing like her on screen parents but more like her on screen Spencer brother.
Jessie really you blew it with Dan.
Ruby blows it too lol...
Frank Smith must be married if Susan's going after him lol
Susan doesn't want Frank and he's after her... and no he's unmarried LOLLOOL
Wow young Tracy Quartermaine. I see she is revisiting her old hairstyle lately .😎
Both Jessie and Ruby gave poor Dan the Saint Anne treatment :(
Heaven forbid either one of them could go on a weekend getaway with him!
Yeah Ruby and Jessie won't marry him! Poor Dan! :(
Jessie did go away for the weekend with Dan before they broke up
Hello, Susan, mother of Jason and Drew. i don't blame you... i woulda fell for Prince Charming, too......
Jessie really have fun
Oh, Jessie. Afraid of actually being REALLY happy with someone who is really into HER...unlike Phil the Philanderer.

The guy playing Mitch is also in Dark Shadows 3 story lines
Did Dan really suggest that he thinks Jessie has a 'warm' personality?
IKR.LOL.
Poor Susan. She was always so thirsty.
Melanie Daniels LOL
That's right, Marnie.🙂👍👍✌️😉👌👌.
Why is Luke wearing a wedding band? I watched GH back then but I can’t remember why he’d be wearing a ring.
It was his grandfather's and he swore hed never take it off.
Back when film made whatever they wanted. No forced diversity or woke crap. Simple times.
I always thought Leslie wore a wig.
She did!!
Frank Smith is Punkie Brewster's Dad? And does anyone know when Heather Comes on? Was in 1980? Or 81? And what Month?
Heather was married to Jeff in 78. So before you mentioned. It was a different actress before the LSD trip.

I have to ask: what, exactly, is GH's "Iron Mountain"???
Iron Mountain MI. is in far north of the state
It refers to Iron Mountain Storage. A company that specializes in storing media in vaults- in this case the ABC video library going back decades.

I think a bunch of the current day characters changed their spots from what they were back in the day.
Dumb question: what is the name of the hairstyle Monica has? It makes her look so much older.
The Granny Bun😂
Gibson girl. Popular in the 1890s.
