That work for me . I do use by basic equipment a lot because I do lots of small properties that I can't be park on the street with my trailer. So just the truck is good I will be trying this next week .
PA lawn Guy Dan I have also had the same story of my life of pricing you mentioned, but just today I asked what the "the lawn from Purgatory" was worth and low-and-behold they were happy with it. Also, glad to see you have the same pride issue I have; just can't let some things go even if it is not in the price agreement. Great video!
In 1993 I only had a Toyota Carolla 4 door with trunk and a 100 pound Snapper 21” commercial. I would tip the mower on its front wheels and lift it up into the trunk several times a day. Thankfully the next year I had a Mazda B2000 truck and a Wheel Horse 252-H.
Nice job Dan. I'm addicted to weed eaters! I'm going Saturday morning to my Echo dealer's open house and he's already setting aside the Echo SRM 225 with the i30 starter, brush cutter blade kit and the bigger Speed Feed 450 string trimmer head for me. Lol! Once a year most Echo dealers have an open house and customers get 20% off tools like weed eaters and chainsaws. It's full price for the accessories like the brush cutter blade kit and the Speed Feed 450 string trimmer head. That's still $40.00 off the regular price.
Dan's Daily Vlog Yeah, we are. You have to understand that it's all small towns here though. The biggest town in this county is 3,500 people. My town is growing a little at 800! The wife and I separated last May.
This makes me want to go back to landscaping. I worked four different jobs since my landscaping job and I'm miserable, most of the jobs have some labor but also diagnosis involved and it gets boring after a while just figuring problems out, everything becomes a problem eventually that you're trying to solve. Although the pay wasn't the greatest I always felt happy when I came home from landscaping because my mind was free, just cutting grass, not much strain on the brain.
It was nice meeting ya yesterday. I did recognize the mohawk...lol. We chatted briefly a month or so ago via text about pressure washing and lawn care. .....Brian Holland
I dont understand wanting to work for someone else like you have chosen to do. but ill say this again....you do a darn good job. i dont know if its the grass down in the south or your just that awesome:), but very crisp lawns. good job dan.
Thank you Jon. It all boils down to what interests me and gets me up in the morning. My job now is not micro managed so besides getting the cans they tell me to get, I can get them as I see fit and making money is up to me (paid commission). I get what you're saying tho. It's a hard choice. Medical, dental and vision insurance helped me a lot with my decision (46 yrs old)
Hey Dan you are pretty cool I mow the yards just like you do. I have a bolens set up last year I did 100 yards with a bolens set up . Take Care and God Bless
I just started putting 50:1 on my Briggs engine husauvarna push mower it runs better. I am going to buy a 2.5 gallon gas can and just carry 2 stroke gas. Thanks for the idea. BTW I like the new style 2017 lawn care with just the tb360 and the km 90. i roll with a fs90r a fc90 edger an echo blower and a 22in husauvarna AWD push mower. Thanks again dan your the man!!
PA Lawn Guy. Also was thinking " 'wish I still had the vitality you demonstrate; a little jealous, but after 4 cancers, two chemos, a radiation, and stem cell transplant it takes it out of you at 70. Appreciate your health and take care of it.
That’s what I like to see one man one lawn mower Weed whipper stick edger and blower go make your money smart man no need to get fancy as long as you’re making that Cash
Just a few thoughts since I do a similar job up here in Toronto. I turn my emergency flasher lights on when parking on the street, insurance companies will ask if there is an incident. I knock on the clients door to announce my arrival, did you have to clean up the dog poop in the back? I bag to remove the thatch and debris. Two minuet garden raking makes clients happy also completely edging the boulevard including their neighbours looks nicer and encourages new customers. Take pride in a job well done..
Dan says "Probably should have charged them more but that's the story of my life"... Lol That! That's why I can't not watch his vids. He says what we're all thinking when we're out busting Ass. Good job Dan.
why on earth would anyone put thumbs down for this, what possible reason could it be, whats wrong with people these days, is it so hard to be nice to people.
Cause I have a history some people choose to not overlook and it is their mission to troll. Thumbs down or thumbs up don't really matter. It is all "activity" and youtube like it all (SEO speaking of course)
man.... if I was to go to the back yard for 1 minute and not lock my stuff up I would come back to an empty truck here in Dallas Tx. So I say that to say this: LOCK IT UP BUDDY!!!!!
How does the straight shaft edger attachment do on weekly maintained yards? I read somewhere that the curved shaft ones cut better than the straight shafts on maintained edges because of their higher blade speed. Does it leave stragglers on the side walks or anything?
Troybilt, MTD Craftsman all come from the same company so if looking at those, go for price and specs. My next push mower will be a Honda self propelled or a Snapper Self Propelled since now a push mower is my primary mower.
Dan's Daily Vlog Yea finally the liberal media has been exposed as never before, the liberal snowflakes ❄️ are losing it ! The working people of this country have had enough of the craziness of the last eight years !Have a good week!
Frankie Gambino yeah seriously,I started in construction at 13 cause I knew the boss and went to landscaping and welding etc etc so I've worked with tons of Mexicans here in Texas and they all have said it's really not hard to get citizenship so they don't understand why that's one of the main liberal points, especially when Obama was saying the same stuff. I'm just glad to see I'm not the only one here that says liberal jokes and stuff
Yea there are a lot of guy's that think like us but scared they might piss somebody off , you know the type political correct they won't take a damn stand on anything!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Dan that noise sounds like your muffler bolts are loose I've had similar problems. it could also be your trotter cable that's vibrating on the handle as well. Idk if you would be interested in some edger blades that I heard and seen work awesome for overgrown edges. it's called the golden edge edger blades. Looks like the kind da work and job I would do for a few customers I have.
golden edge huh? I will look into them for sure. Thank you. I think the noise is under the cover where the guts of my pull cord are. The muffler was snug but I was thinking the same as you
We ate at Zaxbys last weekend. How can you drink UN sweet tea? I always get sweet tea.I called you out on the FALL RIVER GET TO KNOW ME CHALLENGE that was started by Kevin.IF YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT IT LOOK UP FALL RIVER LAWN CARE.
Is he doing a thing trying to get subscribers or something? I don't play those games. Just good vids with a message. I sometimes mix unsweet and sweet but rather have only unsweet over sweet cause sweet is too sweet and leaves me feeling like I drank candy
No it is just so everyone in the Lawn care business gets to know each other You are my favorite channel so I mentioned you.I hope you don't mind. Then that person mentions 3 other people.
Hey nice video,, im planning to start my bussines in the 2018 and i was wondering in can i get some good tips about how to start it.. and how to price.. i live in raleigh,nc.. thanks.
Hello Dan you gotta check on Homeshoppingnetwork I saw this new trimming blade it looks like a drone propeller blade it's got a ring on the outer side and it's got blades on the inside the ring it there to protect plants and what ever else gets in the way it looks pretty good for 50 or 60 bucks it's compatible with many weed trimmers and it can be used for edging also the guy used it it looks sturdy check it out ok I'm getting one to try have a good day
Hey bud, Great to see ya. I do it out of convenience but I mix my gas with costly marine gas (ethanol free) so I use straight gas when I hit the pumps for my truck but since I prefer to carry one can, mix gas it is!!!
How do dan London calling. Nice job. I done like the way you go to work , your quick on the strimmer Like the saying goes. If your going to be a bear be a grizzly 👍
I hook up my little trailer and slide it from the trailer into the bed of my truck then disconnect the (now empty) trailer and to remove the pallet I simply reverse the process.
Good video Dan, So I take it you got rid of the gravely zero turn? Im actually looking to upgrade to a gravely ztx 52. How much did you pay for yours if you don't mind me asking. Keep up the good work.
Hi Dan , please tell me the name and model of the trimming tool you're using at 6:15. I have to buy one - my electric edger takes 100 times longer to use.
Nice video Dan. I am just curious if metallic blades on a grass cutter would cut evenly than the wire trimmer --- something similar to what a lawn mower could do? I would appreciate your comments on this. Thanks.
Yes and no. The string trimmer is going so fast it is going to cut just as even as a metal blade BUT it is up to the operator to not allow wobble at the head. That would cause an uneven cut.
Well, I know what you mean but ya do get what ya pay for and if a push mower is going to be your primary mower, than a good Hoinda or Snapper will lasts many years over a cheaper Troybilt or similar
Hey dan i have 1 question since im going into lawn care since i like yard work even though im 14 but where should i go to get ethanol free gas since i live in ct
troy built replaced the tb360 with the tb370 and it only comes with the smaller 163cc motor . What are they thinking. 389.99 or get the tb370 XP for 399.99 but that one has front castor wheels with 190cc motor .
I always wanted to try the model with castor wheels but I met a man who knew a girl who's father's neighbors nephew had one he purchased a wayzzz back and ummmm... shit, where was I again...? Oh ya, I heard the castor set up is not too good
I liked my Husqvuarna LD 28 split shaft - straight shaft weedeater and I used an $80 edger attachment for edging (with a blade). If that is too much money. Then look for an inexpensive Echo trimmer from Home Depot and use .080 round line.
The loading trick was very kool. But how do you dismount the mower from the bed? You didn't show that. don't have a bad anything physically I've been literally lifting up my mowers. But have a commercial grade Arens that s super heavy & is becoming a pan in the ass to load and unload. Any tps would be greatly apprecated.
Hey Dan, enjoyed the video. One question, can you tell me what your goal is with trimming what you had just edged? I'm not being smart with you, I'm wondering simply because I've never seen anyone, and, I myself, have never done anything more than stick edge, and then blow out the edge with a back pack blower. Thanks!
+little jimmy The lawn season ends around November and starts back up mid March but you can mow once a month in that timeframe to clean up leaves and keep weeds down power washing can be done all year and yes if we got even a quarter inch of snow it would be panic time
Alex A yeah on my dually it's WAYYY higher but I just use my legs and grab the front and backs of my commercial mowers and pick it up and put it in but at 18 years old I can afford to work my body a bit
Dan's Daily Vlog I could see it easily helping, for me I'm just lucky I'm young, when I'm older I'm sure I'll either do that or ramps or start pulling trailers for all the mowers not just zero turns, but the only trailers I've got are large so I don't ever pull just the small mowers with em but thanks for the tip
Yes back in the 80's an Echo PE21 (I think) was my first stick edger) but a Craftsman 3HP push edger was the first real edger I ever used in the early 80's
why do you use a push mower would it be better with ztr? you would do it faster and put some tripes on the lawn. i would think a new client would be impessed and happy
ZTR’s are big, heavy and require a trailer. Also the cost could be 2 years worth of side hustle income. Lastly, I did a video and proved the push mower on MY size yards isn’t really slower than a ztr... especially if the back yard is fenced and gated smaller than most ZTRs
+Stephanie Reta I go for $60 an hour. Most lawns e around 35 to 45 minutes with basic equipment ( in my area ) so I get an average of $40 a yard to cut, edge, trim and blow
Nope, The 100 4 mix is working fine and in my back yard shed. I use it and my push hoinda to do my back yard so I don't have to open gates when I mow my yard.
@@DansVlog true but I used my echo trimmer and tried to edge with that puppy and I don't know if his grass was just tough or what but I hadn't been edged in a long time and I had to full throttle that baby even then I couldn't get it to cut through the grass man oh man I need a stick edger I gotta do the small jobs first before I can get one.
This GUY'S knows whats He;s Doing! Good Job !!
+rdietz68 Thank You!
Dan, why are you such a legend, BEAST and a Savage? In my eyes what you do for the community is very cool, and keep it up!!!
a legend, a beast AND a savage!!??? Hot-Damn I am the man!!!

Thank you and ya, dead lifting can get ya back one of these days
That loading idea is pretty cool.
Works for my bad back, weak shoulders and my noodle arms! lol
I changed my plans because of you.
Good video. You need a zero turn ! I have 25 lawns in LA. Always looking for tips. Thanks.
+CajunCoinHunter I sold my Zero. No need for it with such small lawns and I don't plan on growing.

I love it
How does the straight shaft edger attachment do on weekly maintained yards? I read somewhere that the curved shaft ones cut better than the straight shafts on maintained edges because of their higher blade speed.
Does it leave stragglers on the side walks or anything?
It works great
I need to get a new pushmower. Toro Recyclers dont seem to last that long. Do you have any suggestions for a make/model to get? have 1/2 acre to mow.
Troybilt, MTD Craftsman all come from the same company so if looking at those, go for price and specs. My next push mower will be a Honda self propelled or a Snapper Self Propelled since now a push mower is my primary mower.

Idk if you would be interested in some edger blades that I heard and seen work awesome for overgrown edges. it's called the golden edge edger blades. Looks like the kind da work and job I would do for a few customers I have.

That trick works for loading a mower. I have a tb230 but looking at a craftsman 196cc 4wd push mower
sweet
Didn’t get the craftsman 196cc . But bought a John Deere js38 rwd 190cc 22 inch mower

I thought I was the only one that put mixed gas in my push mower. I run a Honda and it's been running mixed gas for 4 years.
Hey bud, Great to see ya. I do it out of convenience but I mix my gas with costly marine gas (ethanol free) so I use straight gas when I hit the pumps for my truck but since I prefer to carry one can, mix gas it is!!!
YourWay LawnCare doesn't it smoke if you do? what honda mower you have?
No it has never smoked before. It's a roughly 4-5 year old HRR216
When I do shared areas like between the sidewalk and the street I do the entire area just to make it uniform all the way.
hey welcome 🔙 buddy. we've missed u
Thank you Albert. I missed you guys
I like that mower trick :)

Stihl KM90 Kombi Powerhead with straight shaft edger attachment
Thanks Dan - I'll check that out.
Thanks...really appreciate it.
the Honda hc216 commercial push mower is absolutely amazing, but they are way to much money
Well, I know what you mean but ya do get what ya pay for and if a push mower is going to be your primary mower, than a good Hoinda or Snapper will lasts many years over a cheaper Troybilt or similar
Hey dan i have 1 question since im going into lawn care since i like yard work even though im 14 but where should i go to get ethanol free gas since i live in ct
www.pure-gas.org should be able to help you out
Love the tip on putting the mower in the ute. Where's the gravely?
Thank you. Sold the Gravely when I dropped my larger yards
troy built replaced the tb360 with the tb370 and it only comes with the smaller 163cc motor . What are they thinking. 389.99 or get the tb370 XP for 399.99 but that one has front castor wheels with 190cc motor .
They did the same with the Troybilt Pony riding mower I got a 17.5 horse power now they reduced it to 15. something horse power.
I always wanted to try the model with castor wheels but I met a man who knew a girl who's father's neighbors nephew had one he purchased a wayzzz back and ummmm... shit, where was I again...? Oh ya, I heard the castor set up is not too good
But ya never know til ya try it for yourself ya know??
Dan what’s a good entry commercial weed eater? Also want to use for edging and do you know a good diameter string for edging?
I liked my Husqvuarna LD 28 split shaft - straight shaft weedeater and I used an $80 edger attachment for edging (with a blade). If that is too much money. Then look for an inexpensive Echo trimmer from Home Depot and use .080 round line.
we don't have that tool over here in the uk we tend 2 just use our strimmer
Do u have a preference on what kinda edger blades u use?
I buy them in bulk from local lawn shop. The ones from Homedepot and Lowes are too thin and cost way to much
Have you ever broken a window with the weed whacker? I just did it the other week. Cost me $500 for a new window.
+Adman1175 Ya I got a few over the years!
Bro wish I would of seen this this morning. I was struggling
Ya got it now for the next one!!!
The loading trick was very kool. But how do you dismount the mower from the bed? You didn't show that. don't have a bad anything physically I've been literally lifting up my mowers. But have a commercial grade Arens that s super heavy & is becoming a pan in the ass to load and unload. Any tps would be greatly apprecated.
definitely up sell a house wash!
for real!
Should I start the mower first and just use the self propelled to drive it up on my foot? ... or whats left of it :-)
Do it dann!!! 💪
LOL Doin it my friend! Doin it...
Thanks!
+Erix7810 If the edger didn't make it perfect, I might hit it a little with the whip to clean it up
Awesome, thanks!
I know it's early in the season but will that yard get greener or does it look like that all year?
LOWONBILLETS All nice and green now
Nice work.....you need to wash that dirty driveway for them.
I hope they ask but they are renters and this was I think a one time cut
I find it funny after you seen the text from gf about u sweet tea there was more of a step in your walk lol Danny boy
She rocks man. What can I say???
in savanna GA can you powerwash and do landscaping year round ? And do you guys completely panic if you get a inch of snow haha . BTW good video
+little jimmy The lawn season ends around November and starts back up mid March but you can mow once a month in that timeframe to clean up leaves and keep weeds down power washing can be done all year and yes if we got even a quarter inch of snow it would be panic time
That tip on getting your mower into the back of your truck it great, but my truck bed is much higher than yours.
Alex A yeah on my dually it's WAYYY higher but I just use my legs and grab the front and backs of my commercial mowers and pick it up and put it in but at 18 years old I can afford to work my body a bit
I know what you mean. Use my method to get things going then lift it up the final height. Maybe it will help.
Dan's Daily Vlog I could see it easily helping, for me I'm just lucky I'm young, when I'm older I'm sure I'll either do that or ramps or start pulling trailers for all the mowers not just zero turns, but the only trailers I've got are large so I don't ever pull just the small mowers with em but thanks for the tip
what was the first edger u used? echo?
Yes back in the 80's an Echo PE21 (I think) was my first stick edger) but a Craftsman 3HP push edger was the first real edger I ever used in the early 80's
really informative Video, thumbs up
greeting Rauman
+Rauman Thank You!
Better job than me
Good Job. May I ask what state are you?
Could you please show how to get it off the truck the lawnmower
who makes your yard sighns?
why do you use a push mower would it be better with ztr? you would do it faster and put some tripes on the lawn. i would think a new client would be impessed and happy
ZTR’s are big, heavy and require a trailer. Also the cost could be 2 years worth of side hustle income. Lastly, I did a video and proved the push mower on MY size yards isn’t really slower than a ztr... especially if the back yard is fenced and gated smaller than most ZTRs
that noise sounds like a alam going off at a bank lol ...... but i think its inside the muffler baffles broken inside ?
Hey Dan I just got a new trimmer. In your opinion would you put the guard on or not??
Legal answer is leave the trimmer as it came from the manufacturer. Do what you feel comfortable with
Dan's Vlog ok thanks
Ps love your vids
Thank you bud
How come you get lawn looking so nice
Pride
how would you know whats a good charge???
+Stephanie Reta I go for $60 an hour. Most lawns e around 35 to 45 minutes with basic equipment ( in my area ) so I get an average of $40 a yard to cut, edge, trim and blow
How do you get your lawn mower off the truck?
Charlton ayala Awesome question and I will show how I do it on my next mowing vid
I demonstated how in todays vid Charlton
awesome stuff man!!!
What happened to 100 rx , did shaft break?
Nope, The 100 4 mix is working fine and in my back yard shed. I use it and my push hoinda to do my back yard so I don't have to open gates when I mow my yard.
do you charge extra for bagging?
No cause I don't bag unless I feel it will make things quicker
Dan i love your videos but i wouldnt have a mowhawk
Ch He Thank You and you not wanting a Mohawk and me loving mine is what makes this world so fun!
Buckle up
What about unloading the mower?
where is your trailer at
Sold it a while ago
I need to get an edger man, trying to do that with a weed eater is a pain in the ass
I like the ease of an edger but trimmers can do it just as good with practice
@@DansVlog true but I used my echo trimmer and tried to edge with that puppy and I don't know if his grass was just tough or what but I hadn't been edged in a long time and I had to full throttle that baby even then I couldn't get it to cut through the grass man oh man I need a stick edger I gotta do the small jobs first before I can get one.
why do u walk backwards with your edger?? I use to do til my competition told me it mess up the shift,
I sometimes go backwards to clean it up some after cutting fwd first
I go backwards to keep from using the weed eater on the edge.sometimes the blade doesn't cut everything a loose.
so how do you load a mower in a real mans truck? like a Ram 1500
Nathan Horoho I would do the same thing with my F150. Once ya get it over your foot, the bending is over so ya just keep lifting to the tailgate
Push Mower Jimmy Casey l
