I was in a bad car accident the morning of this game. I wasn't wearing a seat belt and my mom rear ended a truck. I went head first into the windshield. I was only 7. True story.

Also have to miss this style of Padres uniforms. I know most of their fans wanted them to go back to the brown and gold/yellow uniforms, but I felt their blue and orange uniforms from the 90's and early 2000's before they moved to be Petco, was more of a San Diego based uniform.
Jose Carranza Koufax pitched in a dead ball era. I’d like to see Koufax try and do what Pedro did in 2000. Middle of steroid era. No raised mound. Pedro was miles ahead of everybody else in the league. Tons of pitchers dominated the 60s
In the history of Major League Baseball, 7 hall of famers have pitched a perfect game. Only two of those games took place after 1968. This unfortunately wasn’t one of those.
only ONCE before (as far as I know off the cuff) has a perfect-o gone into extra innings. Were there more? Harvey Haddix for Pittsburgh in 1959 went 12 innings PERFECT but Lew Burdett of Milwaukee Braves threw a shutout...and in the UN-lucky thirteenth...Hank Aaron doubled with two out...the next hitter (Joe Adcock) hit a home run but was so excited he OVER-RAN Hank Aaron on the base bath...and was CALLED OUT!! 3rd out. It took DAYS before the problem was settled and the Commissioner ruled Braves win 1-0. If I got any of that wrong, please correct me. But this game here is the ONLY OTHER perfect game I ever heard of that went extra innings.... Was there another?
The expos would of won the world series in 1994. That 94 team had great players. Too bad, the strike ended the hopes of the expos of becoming champions.
Let's put this whole "those '94 Expos would have won The Series if it weren't for the strike" sentiment to bed please. Two things here: 1. Yes, they had a terrific season with a team featuring future HoFers Pedro and Larry Walker while journeyman pitcher Ken Hill was having a career year. But they were also an inexperienced club. 2. Anything can happen in the postseason. The 1994 Montreal Expos were good, but they were not world beaters.
Please put the date in the video's title It was June 3, 1995. And please avoid putting information about the game in the title. A title of "06-03-1995 Montreal vs. San Diego" would have been perfect. What is great fun is rediscovering these games without knowing details.
@@StoneColeStunna - I listen to and watch a lot of old games. I tend to concentratre on regular season games rather than World Series games, precisely because I don't know the outcome of any given regular-season game. There is something magical about watching or listening to an old game as a game, rather than as a document. I would probably have watched this game if it had been presented with just the date and teams. But, knowing the outcome, all I really need to watch are the highlights. So I would urge anyone who uploads games not to reveal the outcome.
Van Horne and Singleton are very good. Unfortunately, the presence of Kevin Malone as a guest in the booth ruins the flow and description of one of the great pitching performances of all time. Can you imagine Vin Scully being joined in the booth by a distracting Buzzy Bavasi during Koufax’s perfect game?
Yes, but it’s easy to forget Joey Hamilton wasn’t pitching too shabby himself for much of the game (nine shutout innings, allowing only three singles).
I was born the day this aired. Thank you for sharing! 😄
Damn you’re old.
Pedro was a great pitcher. He was unhittable in his years. A pitcher that gives you the victory.
I was at this game with my dad. He got tired so we left in the 8th inning. D'oh!
Wtf? That’s insane. It’s only 40 mins left at the most to get through 9 if he did it. You gotta stay to potentially witness history.
Pedro Martinez was a star pitcher for the expos and the red Sox. He was awesome at pitching.
El mejor d esa época. ,sin duda alguna..

Never gonna be another Pedro!

I miss the Expos and the Murph. Sadly both are gone. Go Padres. And #BringBackTheExpos #NosAmour

@@86byrdman I got a Gwynn in the white pinstripe with the 98 WS patch on it.
Beautiful jerseys, no wonder Nationals went back to that style script and colors for their away jerseys.
pedro is the goat. change my mind
Sandy Koufax is the GOAT.
Then Randy Johnson and Greg Maddux.
He had the best prime, but other pitchers had longer periods of dominance
Jose Carranza nah the big unit, pedro, then greg maybe
please like my comment Look at Koufax’s numbers. He only needed 6 seasons to show us he is the GOAT.

Anyone else just forward to the Gwynn/Martinez match-ups?
Agree
He never struck out against Maddux and Pedro....almost 150 at bats

Any more Blue Jays games aired on CBC with the original intro like from 2007 & 2008?

Wow, I'd love to see Jomboy media do a breakdown on that game. That is one of the most ridiculous scenarios in a baseball game I have ever heard.

TBH I wouldve never clicked on the video if they didn't have the title how they do.

Today it's funny to see guys unable to catch up to Pedro's 94 mph (average speed in 2022) fast ball.
Cammi had a ‘roid rage moment when snapping his bat in the 8th after being fanned on what would’ve been ball 4.

When your league leading team was stripped apart by a fire sale, a little pr can’t hurt
@@postreading6889 Solid point. I live in Vermont and miss my trips to see the Expos in Montreal.
The Expos really let him down. Couldn't put up just one run while your guy is throwing a perfect game?
