A relatively trivial example : road develops potholes and instead of resurfacing the road they will build bollards and huge speed humps to slow the traffic up. It's cheaper to do this I guess. Locals become frustrated and complain but nothing changes. Year after year, decade after decade. Liberal or Labour administration being voted in makes no difference. Vote after vote, election after election. There is little improvement or change Yes, it's better than most places on Earth and people have formed a sense of smug complacency. Yet there's an underlying feeling, an unease that somehow the society could and should be better than what it is. I sincerely believe that China has a sense of moving forward, that the authorities know what they are doing and that things will improve. Can't say I have that feeling here...

Jerry, thanks for your video. Unity is a value in the Chinese culture, starting with unity of the family. I remembered when I was growing up, our grandmother, my parents & my siblings lived in 1 house. My dad's 2 younger brothers also lived in the same house. Then when my uncles got married they moved out because there was insufficient rooms in the house. If we had a bigger house, I think my uncles would have have stayed. We have to give credit to the Chinese government under president Xi. He came from a poor family & worked in farms when he was young. So he understands the living conditions of the poor. He worked hard & rose in the ranks to be president. His philosophy is to work for the people of China & provide them with a good life. Please keep up your good work & share more of your videos
Yes Jerry, I can feel your joy and enthusiasm in your self transformation in China from your expression in the video. It's awesome weather even it's winter my friend
You are right, Jerry. Every time when I think of the unity of 1.4 billion people, I feel very awful. The planet earth will soon be changed dramatically by this historic phenomenon.
It's awesome to see it in real life trust me my friend
@@JERRYGOODE Yes, I think so since it really impacts the earth with one fifth of the global population.

The problem is the mainstream fake news media in USA are lying and smearing China, keeping the people outside of China not knowing what's really going on in China.

HI Jerry...Your video is inspiring...Sincere, Truthful and Grateful.unlike other Democracy which is Pretentious, Hypocritical. Take Care. Wish All The Best. God Bless.
Jerry, u know what, Chinese has a mentality of "long live the mutual understanding of each other, 理解万岁", which means everyone thinks or acts in other's shoes. This is very important for a society.
Yeah buddy I love that thought its so awsome to know anything can be sorted out
As an overseas Chinese, I fully agree with you on Chinese civilization and society. Well done.

''Jerry'' what you have shown us so far and what i've seen from other vloggers like ''gecko walk'' how can some people living in China called her poor without sounding like an idiot.. sure there are underdeveloped parts just like anywhere else in the world.. but China urban planning is really beyond the so called international stand.. i'm reminded they never stop evolving.. you need to show some more.. i think you've made a good choice to buy in that area.. by summer time that place will be buzzing with trades.. people and foods.. so good to be alive..
Hi bro sure mate! Things are really happening here in china and the world choose to not see it
@@JERRYGOODE a small correction Jerry..not the world but tge West chose not to see it. Their arrogances and sense of superiorities, and jealousy placed them in denial mode.
I think China learnt urban planning from Singapore. Deng on his visit to Singapore was so impressed that he sent officials to study their system. Now I dare say the pupil have equalled, if not overtaken the master.
@@teohct1 agreed. China of today is modelled on Singapore. So clean and so safe, and everything is for the good of the people and the country.
China is now richer than the US.
well said Jerry!
Thanks for showing us around your lovely neighbourhood Jerry. 👍
Your videos are getting better each time. God bless your family & life in China. Please look after yourself, do not mess up your life like Winston and Laowhy.

The ONLY time for division is between the positive and the negative.
Envious of your life style in China. I can't even have a glass of beer on the beach in my country. Thank you Jerry but still piss that can enjoy a beer anywhere and any time of the day. Cheers mate keep those beautiful informative vids coming.

You mean Sunday at dry county?
@@Yellow1964 Yeah mate.
@@madmanjshum I live in Texas, Red state, conservative state. In US, two big party Republican referred as red and Democrat referred as blue. The liquor stores close on Sunday which is reserved for worship. More freedom for sure, but the crime is out of control. Too many guns in the society. Gun right is the platform for red party. Homicide is daily event in most major city. Second issue is homeless.

Excellent video. Thank you so much for showing us the real life in Qinhuangdao. One of my favorite Chinese city.
Wow that’s a different city.
Keep going
I'm just getting warmed up bud
Thank you, Jerry!
Good story, I like it. Thanks for sharing 👍👍
I'm glad you liked it buddy
You are right about President Xi I fully agree
Yours is a happy, healthy life and thus you are free.

Great video. Thank you
The song is 孙楠-风往北吹 wind blow to the north by Sun Nan.
Nice!!!!
Yes Jerry, I can feel your joy and enthusiasm in your self transformation in China from your expression in the video. A person is most happy when he can change and transform himself for the better and that change itself is a victory and happiness. The most difficult challenge in life is changing oneself and that takes courage and awakening. I observe that people from the west are easily irritated and angry. They are like always angry.
When you say 'China', you mean Chinese culture and society , Chinese way of thinking, Chinese values and principles, Chinese philosophy, Chinese etiquette, Chinese respect, honour, loyalty and integrity, Chinese tolerance and tenacity, Chinese dream and ambition, Chinese humility, Chinese patriotism, Chinese civic-consciousness, Chinese speed, Chinese technology, Chinese education, Chinese act of sacrifices, Chinese family and love, Chinese filial piety, Chinese confucianism, etc. Thanks a gazillion for your attentiveness and patience, Jerry of China. 🤣👻❤️🇨🇳
You talk like a man, I like that! I appreciate your honesty keep it up man👍

@@JERRYGOODE that sounds so heartless
In general that is true. If they don't so by themselves, some parents will issue a letter giving them notice to move out. As an Asian, I was totally shocked to learn this when I was a student in UK in the '80.
