I’m so happy this helped encourage you. I didn’t hear back about my first internship until April and know many friends who got it even as summer started. so don’t give up, you got this!!
The best opportunity to get an internship is all about "who you know". If you know how to play golf, you're guaranteed to get internships. I've been getting young people internships because I know them and referred them to other colleagues in different companies. Sending out resumes is pretty much useless.
@@monoinluv4894 My son, with ZERO work experience, is a college junior and he got several internship offers this past summer in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and software sales without sending out any resume. He became friends with people on the golf course and the people who work there told him whenever there are corporate events being held there. My son just showed up that day and tried to play if they were short on people which they often do. He got to know a lot of people and he hustled himself. He also happened to be a very good golfer so it is natural that those people would invite him back to play with them again and again. He was picked for the position over many qualified candidates with a much better resume than he did. In other words, it is not how much you know but who you know. He ended up accepting a position in software sales and was paid like $55/hour for a ten weeks internship. The company's Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) likes my son so much that the CMO personally asked him to come back for next year's internship and the CMO will personally mentor him.

Hi Alexis, Glad I found your video. I'm a 4th-year student at UW and I am going through some graduation anxiety right now and the tips you gave are super helpful and sorted out a lot of the confusions I had! Thanks!
Hey Alexis I just wanted to say thank you for the insight as I got a lot go good information regarding how to seem more applicable for entry level internships that do not require experience.
the whole point of an internship is to not have experience. So, if i understand corrct. the workforce experience charter goes something like this: Graduate program/internship - 0years Jnr/entry position - 1~3years Standard Position- 2~4years Snr - 5 years +
Video idea: Informational Interviews How-To, what questions to ask, following up, etc. Personally, info int. are something I struggle with just getting started on. Obviously, I am curious about their position/them, but idk how to go on about it.
What about unpaid internships? What is your input on it? I honestly, would like to get a paid internship instead since I am looking for one after graduation.
Awesome advice your video really encouraged me to keep trying to network. I do have a question though I know you said it may be rude to mention that you are interested in a position first when connecting on Linkedin, but what if I said something like I'm interested in the internship and I noticed we went to the same college so I wanted to know your experience with the company is that still a bad way to put it?
i’m gonna be a senior in college next year. i’m worried i’m late in the game with applying for internships and gaining experience. do you have any advice for me? is it possible to have an internship during the school year?
If you are looking for an internship maybe I can tell you where I had my internship program. Consumerchoice (email: internship@consumerchoice.com) you can email them Jamie.

I'm a non-US citizen Health Science (B.S) student at an online American university. I want to find a paid internship in US that is health related but all I can find are for tech and finance students. Could you please help me with this?
YES! I own a USA based company looking to hire 10 interns asap to work remotely from anywhere, or from our Costa Rica location. It's a partially paid internship that pays in USD. Ideal background is people who have experience with networking, social marketing, content creation, and event planning, plus an understanding of the mindfulness, new-age spirituality & metaphysical niche, and professional level English writing & speaking. You can visit www.thehedgehouse.com/interns if you want to learn more. But we're more interested in people who are able to demonstrate their skill regardless of education or formal work experience. Interns who can show they can self teach & learn new skills as they go is actually a skill we value and even specifically look for when interviewing! So don't give up. And keep self teaching!

the school i go to doesn't let anyone work at unpaid internships
Unpaid internships aren't always worth it.
If you're willing to work for free, why should someone pay you for work? It doesn't make sense to do an unpaid internship.
I must at least be able to afford my daily needs.
