  • One week before our wedding, 30 years ago, I was summoned to L.A. for a citizenship interview. Ensconced inside my friend Keith's family home, I spent the days writing this song for our wedding, to take place on Aug 7th, 1983. As it turned out, we even managed to give its world premier on that literally scorching day, during our wedding ceremony at St. Paul the Apostle Church near Lincoln Center NYC, with the help of a couple of our friends, Randy and Mary.
The texts were taken from Kahlil Gibran's "On Marriage" and St. Paul's "1 Corinthians 13", which we totally believed in. However, it was somewhat against the cultural current during the time of the eighties; therefore, I decided to refrain from publicizing and/or publishing it and merely saved it as our own celebratory piece.
Now, as we celebrate our 30th Anniversary, with a sense that American culture is at least attempting to swing back more towards traditional values, I sincerely hope that the wisdom of these texts can be more resonating for this and future generations. Because, one thing we do know to be eternally true for sure, after 30 years:
    LOVE NEVER fails!
