    I dont always comment but i started watching with the aspen rt. Your videos made me see i could fix up my classics without spending a ton. Something us car guys that have to work and survive in this crazy time, need to learn. I have a bunch of cars. The people that try and tell you what to do or insult you or your cars normally dont even own a classic let alone work on it. Your car, your money, your channel. Who cares what they say when they have nothing invested. Thanks and keep it up. Us real car guys appreciate it

Coming out awesome!! Thanks for sharing!

    To some folks out there in YT Land. It's been confirmed this is an El Camino with the SS option package. So it is in fact worth more money than the base model when offered for sale. Now that it has a Chevy 350/5.7 liter V8 engine instead of the 305 makes it more valuable.

    I understand your desire to shut down the idiots that post nonsense. I know as a YT viewer I get annoyed when I see people praising RUclipsrs, saying how they are amazing and how they would love to buy one of their cars. When in reality the cars are incomplete and only look good for the camera. it only bothers me because I know other people that lack knowledge will agree with them.

    • @clunkersandclassics
      @clunkersandclassics  8 месяцев назад +1

      It's very rare that a viewer buys a car from a youtuber, most, I assume don't have the money to. Most youtubers fix up worthless junk that has no resale value and do it for youtube money only. It looks cool but if the average person did it they'd be in the poor house. Totally unrealistic.

    Say, for the chrome moldings on the door panels, if you can remove them, clean'm up with scotch brite pad & just put some chrome foil tape over them & wrap it over to the back & BAM ! it looks brand new. If I lived closer, I would swing by & help ya...Good Luck Sir...

    Love how you explained/educated people about the SS vs not being an SS and the $7000 plus added value for good condition version(the gap goes much higher when pristine)...
    Again good work,seems I comment that a lot but keeps me coming back and that says a lot as I am a Mopar guy watching Chevy restorations. I also like seeing how Nikki is doing that alone is a tough job taking care of a blind dog,that I respect!!! Take care and I'll watch the next one!

    Lee you can get the creases out of the carpet with a heat gun and the steam from an iron but DON’T touch the iron to the carpet. Once I heated up a really bad crease I put a bag of dog food on it since I could form it to the floor pan corner and let it cool down. It looked really nice after it set up.
    I guess Bo in Durant retired that was a surprise. You might check with Louis’s Upholstery in Kingston OK, Upholstery Shop (yup that’s the whole name) in Colbert OK but they are only open 9-Noon so they are about to retire, and J&R Auto Trim in Ardmore Ok. I’m Texas is Rivas General Upholstery in Sherman TX, Bramble’s Upholstery in Pottsboro TX, and Cover All in Flower Mound.
    I enjoy your no BS content so you do you and they can’t choose to watch elsewhere. If none of those pan out to get your visor fixed I think you might still have my email, maybe we can figure something out with mailing it to someone, just let me know.

    If you are having trouble finding the chrome for the door panels, I have had good luck with the chrome looking vinyl wrap that younger guys wrap their cars with.
    The kind that stretches when warmed up with a hair dryer works best for me. The stuff that is just chrome tape sucks.

    In my opinion 85% of potential buyers of the El Camino SS would prefer to have the 350 engine over the 305 engine. As far as the numbers matching debate. Well, there aren't any serious car collectors/investors hunting down the remaining 4th generation SS El Camino's. What's more important is the usefullness of the vehicle itself. With the 350 engine the El Camino can carry a lot of cargo and still have enough torque and hp to cruise on the interstate.

    Keep up the good work man! People fail to realize depending on your neck of the woods, prices fluctuate like crazy with these classics aswell . Up her in Maine for an example a 80s square body with magnificent body rust is going for around 5k, a decent one is going for 12k plus. There's a huge market up here to. They're everywhere also. Ina state where there's not many around I bet they're going for 10 plus in rough condition.
    Don't see a lot of Oldsmobiles up here so if you got a one, they're big bucks too. Chevy cars and trucks are everywhere here. The local parts stores pretty much sell everything you need to build a 350 except the block but they will order one for you too hahaha. Its crazy.
