I'm not sure of that. I have had more than one time we are above the clouds. I think it is more weather than the time of day.

I don't know if it's the terrain you're skiing on or the positioning of your GoPro, but I do appreciate that the film footage is relatively smooth. I don't feel nauseous at the end.

Nice coverage of the place on an A+ Day. The biggest issue is you only get one good day in 5, Has always been better later in the season from my own experience. An A+ day to me means a recent dump of new snow, clear skies, the 20s or so Temp, and most importantly. Low to no wind. It's the wind that makes it "IceFace".
Thanks for watching! HaHa I know. I was extremely lucky with this day in January. The day before was cloudy & foggy. The mountain was actually foggy down below the clouds which was also very cool if you watch the entire video.

Never been to Whiteface but I drive past several times a year, and through Lake Placid. Great description and overview of the mountain. However, the US beat Russia in the medal round, but won gold by defeating Finland two days later 👍

I was there 2 weeks ago... let me tell you how LUCKY you got with those views. I’ve been going for 15 years and I’ve only seen it like that once!!
lol same here, used to ski there all the time when I was little. Pretty rare to see that. The day before was all fog and half the mountain on that day was fog lol. At least no wind which was nice
Interesting-I’ve skied there 3 times from 2018-2020 and always had those conditions!!!
I'm thinking of heading to whiteface this weekend. How were the conditions when you went there. (Conditions for east coast expectations)
What up Felix! Conditions were mostly man made snow. Better conditions in the morning and little whiteface summit seemed the best. Obviously some ice and hard pack. I am about 3 hours west of lake placid and we have received a good amount of snow so that could help.

damn, how long is the lift to the top take?
Its actually two lifts, you can take a chair or gondola and another lift. Comparable to other mountains, its high speed for the main lifts or gondola.
What month did you record this? How are the conditions in late March?
Check the date, I think January. Hard to say for march depends on how warm it is.
