    The reason you can’t take photos of the radiation shelter from the other angles is because that’s where the entrances and structural devices are located and close up high definition videos of those cold provide enemies (Russia) with information to destroy the shelter easily and release radiation. We saw another tour group (from a different company) try to pick up one of the puppies that had been walking with us, he immediately freaked out and tried to bite her. She probably had fleas too.
    But there was a pet dog belonging to one of the guards at Duga 2 and she accompanied us on the walking tour. She was very cute and soft.

  • @moisteggroll3421
    @moisteggroll3421 Год назад +2

    I was there in 2018. The reason they want you to only photograph from that angle is that there are government buildings to the sides of that monument and around the reactor. Its illegal to take photographs of goverment buildings there, or atleast that's what my guide told me. The buildings didn't look interesting so you're not missing much anyway, but im more inclined to believe their explanation. They bussed us to that area just to take pictures of that angle specifically and then we left, that being the closest I got to the reactor on that tour. I believe they had tours where you could go inside the reactor but I'm not sure if they still do that anymore. On another note I only went through one checkpoint entering the exclusion zone, and it's also technically forbidden to go into any of the buildings in Pripyat due to safety reasons but the guides still lead people through them.

    Explanation of the disaster from the technical part
    The test on unit 4 was to see if the rotary speed of the turbines is enough to power the MCP's (Main circulation pump, which circulates water) during a power outage, and will it give them enough time to turn on the Emergency Diesel Generators (take about 40 seconds to kick in). The test was to be done at low power, to not risk an explosion. The RBMK reactor (Reaktor Bolshoy Mochnosti Kanalnyy, probably messed that up) . High Power channel type reactor. It gets unstable at low power, producing Xeon, which reduces reactivity by absorbing neutrons. They reduced the power too much, causing the reactor to almost shut down (00:31 AM). They pulled out most of the control rods to 100%. Only 18 rods were inside the core, the power was at around 500MW. TG8 (Turbine-Generator) has been shut down. The reactor stalled too much, and went to a solid 0MW. More rods are pulled out. During this whole ordeal, a hot spot has been building up, because USP (Short rods below core compensate and prevent hot spots) rods were out. A power surge occurs, and since most rods are out, it gets out of control A3-5 ( or AZ-5, full reactor shut down, inserts all control rods at once). For this part you need a better understanding of the RBMK. The "Displacers" that as the name suggests displace water, are made of graphite that accelerates reactivity. The graphite hits the core first, and since a large mass of graphite suddenly enters the core, reactivity skyrockets. All water inside the core instantly turns to steam, which expands and causes a rupture of the channels. Locks and jams the rods in place and makes the disaster inevitable. Power skyrockets even further, reaching 33000MW, but thats as high as the counter went, the actual reading is probably 4 times higher. The maximum designated power of the RBMK is 3200MW, and the safe limit is 3300MW. Explosion, the 3000 Thousand ton lid flips and falls onto the core, and hydrogen and oxygen from the water literally being split apart from the heat causes another huge explosion, launching the lid 25 Meters into the air, blowing through the roof, and landing back onto the core. The whole block has been destroyed.

    The Russian and Belarussian soldiers and Ukrainian pro-Russian separatists who in 2022 ventured unknowinly into the forests of the radioactive exclusion zone of Chernobyl dug some of their tanks in the ground there. They lived there almost a month eating the animals in the forests too. Now there's nobody alive. Around 6000 Russians, Belarussian and pro-Russian Ukrainian separatist soldiers did the unthinkable. Majority died in the forests in the exclusion zone of Chernobyl while those who remained alive started to lose their legs and hands and were taken to hospital in Belarus and were refused any hospitalization since no doctor could touch them out of fear of radioactive contamination. After they were taken to Belarus, their families and kin were called to go collect their relatives. They died a slow and extremely, extraordinarily painful death.
