- Join us for a special day out as we hop on an old diesel Loco And head to the original filming location for Harry Potter and the TV show Heartbeat
This incredible British heritage line is done by North Yorkshire Moors Railway from Pickering to Whitby (with stops on the way) we stopped off at the tiny village of Goathland
Goathland Station is famous for the scene out of the very first Harry Potter movie, the station is used for Hogsmead where the famous Hogwarts Express pulls up
Goathland is also home to Scribbs Garage which was used in the 90’s British tv show Heartbeat starring Nick Berry

We did this train ride a few years ago, the scenery was so pretty wasn't it, I love just driving over the Yorkshire moors stopping at goth land , my fella is from Skipton and I could easily move up there x

If anyone is thinking of doing this trip that doesn't have a car then there is a bus service from York every hour. Up until October it will only be £2! This also stops at Flamingo Land and Whitby 😁
Visited Keighley & Worth Valley Railway last year in Yorkshire. Unfortunately they pulled the steam trains out of service on the day we were due to ride on them due to hot weather - which was funny considering it wasn’t a problem on the busy Saturday…shame as we really wanted the full steam experience. (At least we got to go to Dungeness on mini puff puffs!)

Good old class 31 with a rake OK Mark 1 carriages! Another nice railway to do is the Severn Valley. Went recently for their diesel gala

You’re the same as me Andy, born in Lincolnshire (Boston), now live in Lancashire (Oldham). I’m also going to Pickering on holiday this September. I’ve done this same trip as you Pickering to Goathland and back a good few years ago. It’s a lovely journey. Brought back some memories. Thanks Andy 👍🏻

Cheers for vlog, really enjoyed and look forward to the next. Diesels not my favourite tbh, prefer steam engines / locomotives as in my opinion have more character, excitement especially when travelling a.k.a steaming through countryside & in Kent steaming up banks. Really awesome moments to enjoy when train being pulled by steam loco, don't mind diesels, but in my opinion its the steam engines for me that are favourite. But nice vlog, really interesting, would of thought had more related to Harry Potter there? Like a mini museum at station? Photos? Maybe something in future could add? But yeah, cheers again, look forward to next vlog. 😀👍
