Thank you for the tip on the 2 processes. I updated my M31 from last year and the result was amazing. Gave it the "pop" that the core was missing.
You must work a lot to produce these videos because from a production standpoint, they are very well made. Bravo! And great content also. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, it’s definitely not as easy as I thought I would be! But helping people makes it worth it
I appreciate your explanations of “what the buttons do”. Many tutorials punch the buttons and “see what I did” not what is the purpose of the button/slider.
Thank you for this, as it explains the two processes. I have never really understood what they do, so have avoided them. I will watch this during my current processing of the Elephants Trunk Nebula.
IC 1396 will be great for these especially LHE!
Great info, thank you.
Excellent explanation of both processes! You just solved an issue I was having with HDRMulti
Glad it helped!
Best explanation to date. And I’ve seen “all of ‘em”
Thank you…👊🏼
Glad it helped!
This will be great to help make my 22 hours on ic 63 better!
Yeah because of the bright spots on the nebula it should help define them and make it look more crisp
Can you use both LHE and HDR together?
Yeah, I typically will just use the lightness mask only on HDR to get rid of the highlights and then if I want to add some contrast and punch but have more control over it than you get with HDR I will do that with LHE. So just click the lightness mask only if you want to do that. You can try clicking “to intensity” as well and then see if you have some structures that didn’t get enhanced the way you want and target those with LHE
Enjoyed this Ryan! Might try with the blown out core of M42 I recently took. I used 3 min exposures though which may mean I’ve just overcooked the core and it’s not recoverable? What exposure time do others use on M42 ??
Cheers Si
For M42 you only want - 10-30 seconds for the core and then 3-5 minutes for everything else.
3 minutes won’t be recoverable for the core but you can always take some short exposures and combine it
HDR can help but won’t fully recover 180” exposures with your set up unfortunately 😕
@@darkrangersinc Can you combine in PI or do you process separately and combine in photoshop?
Great video, this is perfect for someone like me who is still very overwhelmed by photoshop
Glad to hear! This is a simple and easy way to make a big impact in a short amount of time
Thank you Ryan, I’m going to create library of your videos for reference. Do keep up the great tutorials.
Glad to hear it’s helping! All my processing videos should be under one playlist if that helps!
THANK YOU (That's a big thank you)🫡
YOUR WELCOME! back at ya 😉
