You have an amazing channel, Tobias! It is a beautiful sport, I love birds falling down too! You must have great fun! And you must be an excellent shooter, Tobias! What bird tastes best? Do you have some of them made into trophies? And do you hunt any other animals except birds? Keep on, buddy, good luck and many kills!
Thanks for the kind words, Lukas. I'm glad you like the videos! I am unfortunately not a great cook, so I can't get the best tastes out of the birds. I'm lucky to have hunting buddies who are amazing at making food though, and the best bird I've been served, was a smoked young female capercaillie. The woodcock tastes great too! Regarding trophies, I had my first male capercaillie taxidermed. I only hunt birds - more videos will come in September :)
@@TobiasDybwad Thanks for your reply! Means a lot, I like your videos very much! So, you hunt more for fun and enjoyments than for meat and trophies, right? Yes, I like woodcock too! Have never eaten capercaillie, but I guess the young ones must be best - like any kind of meat, yeah? Arent there any mammals to hunt in your region or have you just chosen birds? Never mind you are not a great cook - you have your buddies and you are an excellent shooter, that´s most important. There would have been nothing to be cooked without you! Looking forward to September, Tobias!
Hi, Lukas. Yep, regardless of who cooks them, all the birds I shoot end up on a plate, and it's commonly said that the young ones taste better. I hunt more for recreation than for trophies, like you say :) The love and respect for the birds doesn't start and end with the hunting season though. I watch them year round, and like to "hunt" them with my camera out of season. My family have hunted grouse with pointing dogs for generations, so it became a deep rooted passion from a young age. Otherwise I'd have the opportunity to hunt mammals, like deer, red deer, moose and reindeer. Plenty of game in Norway!
@@TobiasDybwad Thanks for nice words, Tobias! You have an amazing hobby. And it seems you do like nature and the birds, despite you kill them. No surprise that young ones taste better. I love lamb, veal...🙂 I would say younger animals have always better meat. Does it pay off to choose smaller (younger) birds to shoot? Or do you take any game bird that your dog points? So, your family has been hunting "only" grouse and you have extended it to other bird species, right? And have you ever hunted any mammals? What about small game, fox, rabbit, hare, marmot....? Are they in Norway? Thanks and stay safe!
