"the Grateful Dead treated the stage is if it were a picnic blanket" - John Mayer (like him or not I like the quote) they would hang out on the stage maybe smoking a cigarette leaning up against some speakers, other artists always make some grand entrance meant to make them look like gods or something, but the dead were just chilling, I like the vibe
It was Lord Acton, not Confucius, who said that absolute power corrupts absolutely. Still, I've misattributed quotations myself, and Bob Weir is a great man.
The irony.. basically "If you're a deadhead then don't worry, Jerry is so exhausted that he can't function at the moment.. but don't worry, his doctor says he can play for you again soon.."
@@firstube I started going to shows again in '92, after several years, and I thought Jerry played/sounded just great. I guess at some point he had a relapse, and it was too late. I'm glad that I was able to see him and the Dead, when I could. Last time was Vegas in May of '95. R.I.P Jerry.
the only thing i find not acid inspired is in fact the music ,, when ya take say hawkwind ,early floyd ,ya can tell its trying to trip ya out ,i just dont see the link in there music and acid inspired visuals ,sorry but to me its just basic rock n blues country ,nothing really mind expanding about there music to me ,
Then you just haven’t paired the two to know, as well as not fully hearing the interplay that helps lead one into the psychedelic aspects of the music. And your examples are more psilocybin IMO

I thought the same thing..It is truly sad the person he seems to have become. Eagerly doing most, if not all those things TGD refused to even talk about. I recently saw where there is a new Nike D&CO tennis shoe coming out. They will make money on anything they can, these days. Reminds me of Gene Simmons a bit. Truly sad to see.

Well Said Sir;
@@dickhedd8490 Ty. That's one I used to hear, 'back in the day'. It sums it all up well, for me, still. Cheers.
Love you Bobby!! 🍃💞🐺💞🍃
You know Weir and David Lee Roth look eerily similar at times.
Back when the Grateful Dead RULED the world!

Sure wish the dead kinda stayed with the "No politics" rule.

Walk Hard !!
92 is about when jerry stated to do dope again,,,, the end

Long strange trip.
Bobby's so fucking high, but it cool. Hes cool.
He doesn't seem high at all.
It was Lord Acton who said "absolute power corrupts absolutely" not Confucius. But hey its Bobby...fuck it.
I thought it was Richard Nixon, post resignation.
Thought it was spiderman’s late Uncle

Believe me, you can "see" music when tripping. Only did it once in the highschool band and it was the worst I ever played.

Bob hates power yet is a member of Bohemian Grove. I don’t know the guy so who knows what he’s up to. I love him deeply. Just a thought!
Maybe he’s undercover, gathering intel and burying IEDs
When they stopped doing drugs the music got better? Man, there's just so much wrong with that statement lol
Most likely referring to blow. Definitely still baked with a few drinks to go with it
"We all thoroughly despise power"...cute line Bob(by). You pay your Bohemian Grove membership dues yet this year?

Heroin wins again
He's ALL ego
Bob is certainly necessary a Jerry ; need one another.
You only realize it at certain times when you see them look and smile at each other.. they know what they're doing
Bob's not all ego...Mrs Weir wanna be #RedheadDeadhead
I never got that impression, of Weir. He, like the others, seemed to be mostly about the music.
on stage he is hardly relevant, he 'WISHES' he was the band conductor

He was absolutely in the 90s if you were there
