I love how Aro is willingly to play the long game as he said ' We will not fight.....today'. Then the last look at Alice and Bella before he leaves it's clear he won't give up on gaining them in his coven.

he was so obssessed with the "special" vampires with unique powers he wouldn't give up on the cullens unless absolutely necessary. there are aspects of the story I appreciate but over all the angsty teen drama with the century and a half vampire pretending to be a teenager is just plain creepy and poorly written. the worst part was the sparkling... a sparkle like sunlight on snow is one thing but the movies made them look like disco balls.... had it been different, bella been older, I may have enjoyed it more.

@@lasieste8171 USUALLY in fiction; the 'dhampir' (yes a therm for half-vampires actually exist) get the powers but not the weaknesses of vampires... usually to the sunligth, and to the thirst. As he claims, he can sustain by human food; so we could assume he does not sparkle at sunligth... and he is pretty mutch inmortal...maybe not entirelly; but close enougth

I remember watching this in the theater and as soon as the "vision" ended, someone in the back yelled "what the fuuuck?!" Like they were mad that it wasn't real. It was hilarious at the time and it still makes me chuckle as I can still hear it when I watch this scene

He wasn’t scared for his life. He was scared of 1. The vultori falling apart, and 2. That he would lose his chance of adding Bella and Alice to his coven.
I love Marcus's distaste for drama. Man just wants to eat or die.
From what I recall reading in an extra bit somewhere (a family tree that Stephanie Meyer published somewhere, maybe?) Marcus's wife had died, and he's just been hanging around and waiting to die ever since.
@@lacymom1109 Yeah I'm pretty sure Aro actually did it. It was his sister who was Marcus's wife. They planned to leave the coven so Aro secretly killed her so he'd stay instead.
I love that Aro didn't even confirm if he liar about his story. He could be a pure blood vampire, but Aro didn't check. He just doesn't want to die that day.

They can identify hybrids, they have the same presence of a vampire( everyone that first look Renesme think it was a vampire) but with a heartbeating and warm.
Given Aro just got through seeing,hearing and more or less sensing Resmees Hybridness, it wouldn't take a genius to figure out he's also a hybrid. One that's been around for the past 150 years, basically what he "feared" would've happened years ago.
That's because half human/half vampire are not the same as vampires, their eyes are not red or golden, they have beating hearts and warm bodies and the skin is human like. He didn't wanted to die that day, obviously, but knowing Caius he would notice immediately if it was a fake story and still try to attack.

actually he does have a shield. renata though not mental like bella is more of a physical shield. she can project a field that confuses people and makes them temporarily forget where they were going or why. people like bella and edward can penetrate the field with their mental abilities how ever.
i get your point though. with someone like bella, aro would be practically untouchable

You'd think he'd want the guy who can control the elements even moreso than Bella. He changed the tide of the battle and they were all visibly shocked by his power. His maker kept him well hidden due to knowing Aro would covet him. Though I understand the potential of Bella over time.

Marcus is either the most sensible of them or he is subconsciously trying to sabotage Aro. It didn't take him long to speak up in favor of the Cullens.
Marcus is the least problematic Volturi and actually more like Carlisle, wanting more peaceful solutions to conflict. He notices the bond between people and how loyal they are to each other or groups. So he sees that Nahuel and Renesmee is and will adhere to staying hidden and surviving on both blood and human food.
he also really wants to die. he's stuck in his old age and has been like that for literally ages. he has no interest in fights
marcus' story is really sad as his lover was killed by aro behind his back. The reason for her death being that marcus was so in love with her that he stopped caring for aro's plans to gain control of the vampire world. After her death, marcus was really depressed and suicidal and to ensure marcus' loyalty to the volturi, aro uses Chelsea's power on him (she has the gift to influence the emotional ties between people, she only appears in the books).
So you could say that he doesn't care for aro's plans but it's mainly bc he admires the love Edward and bella share as it remind him of what once was

I also noticed something here too. Due to Aro's decision, even though it would inevitably cause his death, it would cause a lot of others too. So for Alice to say that's HIS future, it's also indirectly EVERYONE ELSEs future that will die like him. Smh. It's so true when people say YOUR ACTIONS EFFECT OTHER PEOPLE. Because they truly do.

I'm not sure, so don't believe me to much... but in the book they kind of hint that Alice's gift is seeing the future and can be "changed", they really don't explain it too much and say that it depends on people decisions. I always thought she can make up some visions, you know? Combine the truth with a small lie and somehow conceal it from Aro's invasive gift 'cause he only knows the basics of Alice's power. Just a theory.
Mannnn when my family and I first watch this scene in the movie theater… Everyone was like “OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” when they revealed it was all just her vision… CRAZY best scene in the entire series 🤝🙌🏽

Did you even watch the movies? Vampires have extremely good hearing. So good in fact they can hear heartbeats, with hearing like that conversations at 200 ft is child's play.

My mom saw this in the theatre and said that when the scene ended, everybody just collectively GASPED. It was THAT big of a deal back then
Well, it was such a major departure from the books. I remember thinking, "No, they can't change the ending this much!" Then the reveal that it was one of Alice's visions, which Aro was able to experience thanks to his ability, I was relieved enough to gasp, too.
Yeah alot of gasping at the screening of it that i watched as well.
When the whole Twilight ended by this scene my mind was still stuck on aro's saying "such a prize" . I didn't exactly knew what that meant but that time it immediately strike me that the volturi would definitely come back and not let it go that easily.
Give it a few centuries.

3 months too late but he coven is filled with vamps with abilities he’s always wanted Alice as she is a seer and now wants bella as a shield in his coven.
Aro says “cuz you don’t want the smoke” with that shoulder tap and subtle head shake.
Bella actually does look better as a vampire. The amber eyes look good on her.
They made bellas shield weaker than it was in the book. Also I'm convinced that Bella could use her shield as a weapon. If her control is good enough.
How was it in the books?
@@Mohack88 when her shield was finally revealed it was a huge dome over her group. Alacks mist attack revealed its huge size and everyone gasped. Benjamin tells her well done. She realized that if Sam was inside her shield then even the wolves that weren't were protected because of how the pack members were mentally connected. She was also able to wrap her shield into a skin tight layer around everyone she wanted to.

@@Mohack88 well they had to consider time limitations and budget constraints. For instance the audio version of the 4th book is like 16 hours long. You can't get all that detail into 2 movies that are 2 to 3 hours long. But I think they did a decent job getting in as much as they did.
You can use shields offensively? I had no idea.. I figured she could only protect her people.. but in that case the volturi would win with superior fighting skills and considerable age no?
3:46 Am I the only one that interprets the look that Aro gives Marcus as if he’s seeing him in a new light? From the viewpoint of someone who has ONLY seen the films (from comments I know Marcus is suicidal in the books and wants to die) it looks like Aro knows now how much Marcus wants to die from the scene where he is about to die and says, “Finally”. It’s a look with a lot of depth to it in a few seconds.. and Marcus has no idea Aro has seen that.
For more context of why aro looked at marcus that way cause he was the one who ordered marcus's wife to be killed because marcus and his wife was going to leave and venture out in the world by themselves so aro went and killed her btw marcus's wife was aro's sister, and after marcus's wife died he was never the same longing for death that never comes, and merely follows the volturi with no enthusiasm he became a literal hollow shell of what he once was aro always felt regretful he had to kill his sister in order for marcus to not leave the coven, and after this vision he felt even mote so

Anyone catch how the camera panes and shows who got taken out by who in so many words? Jane and the camera focused on the wolves. Emmett and the camera paned to Alec. Vladmir and Stefan and the camera panned to Marcus. Kate and Tanya and the camera focused on Cauis. Carlisle and the camera focused on Aro, while also Felix and the camera again focused on Edward and Bella. Though that could be double-sided since indirectly, Bella and Edward killing Aro would cause their deaths too. But, ya'll get my point lol.

Probably was afraid of their strength as well. They are half human so they have human blood flowing through their veins which means they are a permanent newborn without the crazed blood thirst.

Atleast Aro had the sense to shake his head no when it was suggested that they move on to punishing them for consorting with werwolves. He knows as soon as that fight starts they have lost.
It's kind of sad it was all a vision because Marcus is just stuck in that coven, depressed and ready to end immortality.

I like that Arno wants to prevent the fight after the vision but still wants to save face in the same time. Ha can't show weakness and say that he is afraid of dying in the battle. He now tries to find a good reason to tell his coven why they shouldn't fight.
I wanted to throat punch Caius about five times this whole fight scene. He was SO down to do battle for nothing!

How did the Amazonian half human/vampire make his aunt immortal??
From what I read up on, Nahuel was literally just born from his dying mother when he ended up biting Huilen, causing her Transformation. It would make sense as well, seeing as we recall after Renesmee's birth in Part 1 there's a moment she bites Bella before being taken away by Edward.

Has anyone noticed that this whole future vision part doesn't make sense? Alice cannot see anyone's future if there are werewolves around, even in the book she seeked for peace from the visions by just approaching Jacob at one part, and it was a deleted scene from Part 1, surely bcs they really wanted to make the fight scene. But even then, it's pointed out by Alice in New Moon.
She saw his future long before she joined all of them.
This is why it wasn't in te book.
She can't see Halfa’s either. Bella’s future went blurry as soon as she realized she was pregnant. Bella’s future changed and Alice couldn't see Bella no matter how hard she tried.
Alice had blind spots when she was looking for witnesses that made her realize there might be more halfa’s out there.

The Aunt has red eyes so how is the hybrid not dead from her? Especially at the time when he turned her immortal? She would have been untamed.
She helped her sister giving birth, took the baby out of the womb when her sister died (the baby was able to open his mother’s body himself) and just like Renesmee did with Bella (one can see it in the birthing scene), he bite Huilen right after he came out of the womb and made her immortal. It is described in the book, Huilen explains it herself. She went into the woods for the change due the pain and the baby waited for her to come back. Then she raised her as her own. Male half breeds are venomous, females are not. But it seems his mother was already dead when he came out.
Ah and hybrids are not seen as prey, Vampires don’t seem to find them „eatable“. They are more vampire as human

They probably left rightaway when they started fighting.... they were only promised to be witnesses and not to fight once "vision" fight started happening they juest went back to brazil... thats why Alice didnt bring them upfront as she didnt know which direction Aro was going to go.
