Easy choice. Kellen could put it there, but it takes top talent to take it away from capable defenders in 50/50 balls. Titus burned em' with his speed, and Austin snatched it with his length. When you have both you're spoiled!
Kyle Wilson had the nastiest corner blitz's I've ever seen at the collegiate level. Winston Venable had some bangers from the nickel as well. Just ask Oregon... I forget if it was their 3rd or 4rth string quarterback who got forced into the game after KNOCKOUTS. To be fair, the last guy up proved the most capable in that game.
Seeing a lot of Brotzman hate for missed kicks. Believe me, plenty of painful memories, a lot of wondering "what could have been", but the reality is, he's still statistically one of the better kickers in NCAA history. #21 all time for points scored
Ehhhhh..... Maybe. The necessary speed on the ball required to consistently beat NFL corners in the flat is still an open question. I'm a huge Kellen fan, I have a signed football as the centerpiece of my office. However, IMO his offensive genius is best exploited at the OC level as opposed to QB1 in the NFL. It's one of the reason's I love college football and am apathetic to the pros. Different skill sets can shine in college, where the pro's require a more specific mold.
I wonder if the playoff would be more willing to include group of 5 schools in the playoff if TCU was still in the Mountain West or if Boise State was still as goods as they were back then
I’d say no, given how dirty the playoff has done just about any team that isn’t a brand name team to date. Not to mention the blatant corruption done against specifically TCU and Boise State historically. Like there literally is not a single mathematical reason why TCU didn’t play in a national championship in 2009. 1. TCU beat more ranked teams than Texas 2. TCU beat higher ranked teams than Texas 3. TCU beat higher ranked teams by a larger margin than Texas 4. TCU had statistically a better SOS than Texas 5. TCU had statistically a better offense than Texas 6. TCU had statistically a better defense than Texas 7. TCU had statistically a greater margin of victory than Texas. Yet TCU was still ranked behind them…. It was all just blatant corruption and greed
This was the best BSU squad ever… on both sides of the ball. Both teams should have had a shot at the title that year and both were snubbed by the snobs.
@@calebmoneyhollis663 He still ranks Top 10 All Time for: - Passing Attempts - Passing Completions - Completion Percentage - QB Efficiency - Passing Yards - Passing Touchdowns - Total Yards - Total TDs - QB rating So it’s a bit hard to say that he’s not one of the best.
The BCS Committee screwed both these teams. They didn't want to see two G5 teams whip 2 Power 5 teams in major bowl games, so they got rid of both of them by sticking them in the Fiesta Bowl against each other.
Someone should make a documentary about how the kicker from Boise Kyle Brotzman is the best kicker in BSU history and also the worst at the same time. Poor guy
I’m from Texas and not a TCU fan even though I live 3 hours from Fort Worth having said that TCU should have gone to the Sugar Bowl to face Florida and not Cincinnati which should have gone to this game to face Boise State better game match ups in my opinion.
False TCU should have played in the national championship game against Alabama. There is literally nothing to support why Texas made the championship game over TCU besides money….
Man I’ve watched highlights of this game, VT, Nevada, and etc. So many missed kick by the kicker. He literally was trash and Pederson didn’t do anything about it. Have freaking tryouts from students, soccer players, or other players. Jesus, the kicker literally cost them in 2010 against Nevada and TCU in 2011.
The Cowboys starting QB vs his offensive coordinator
Louisville fan here: Titus Young and Austin Pettis is still my all time fav WR duo
Easy choice. Kellen could put it there, but it takes top talent to take it away from capable defenders in 50/50 balls. Titus burned em' with his speed, and Austin snatched it with his length. When you have both you're spoiled!
Nothing beats the [2007] Fiesta Bowl, still one of the greatest College Football game in the century.
What a great game between two really well coached squads. It's a shame that each team got robbed out of getting a shot at a BCS school though.
Yea it really is, both were championship caliber.
Alabama would have destroyed them Stfu
@@camjones3723and u have sex with ur sister
Peterson was ALWAYS a class-act. I wish him and his family the very best!!!
Good game but such a giant cop out from the BCS, putting them against one another. I was so pissed when they announced it
So true, it was still a great game. But those 2 teams were both top 5 worthy that year.
Why not let the BCS busters bust each other eh? Keep the "blue bloods" safe. Such a shame.
This game was a lot better than I remembered. By the time the 4th quarter rolled around the intensity was through the roof.
I was there the noise was insane
Either team could've beaten anybody that year. I'm glad the BCS is done.
Same
It still sucks we need 6 or 8 teams
Man I remember being so mad this year. They purposely put these team against each other.
The playoff sucks because they made sure Boise State will never be in the playoffs
TCU proved why they should never be in the playoffs. 65-7. These teams are trash
You forgot to include a VICIOUS sack by Kyle Wilson on a corner blitz.
I was waiting for that sack. A let down.

Below average from the left hash. ELITE AT EVERY THING ELSE. Any coach would be happy to have that capability, and every fan SHOULD.
Still get goosebumps. So glad I took the bus down there as a broke college student. Memory for life!
I love how Boise State wore the same away colors they used when they beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl 3 years prior.
If Kellen Moore had been drafted by the Saints and sat behind Drew Brees, he could have developed into a solid starting QB in the NFL

Go Broncos baby! Can’t wait for Saturday!
6:00 this kid
Kellen more should of been a super bowl winning quarterback
Fr his nfl career was not his fault just unfortunate turn of events
More kellen videos please!!!!

1:05 Andy Dalton, doing Andy Dalton things.
I was there. I cheered the loudest
I like the playoffs but we arnt gonna see matchups like this on a stage like this anymore.
Separate But Equal Fiesta Bowl

id give anything to bring coach pete to oregon
I sure miss coach Pete. Would be cool to have him back
I wish we could be elite again
This was the real national title, Bama and Texas looked so slow compared to these teams.
Agree! I've ALWAYS said these were the 2 best teams in the country that year. Can't convince me otherwise!
Alabama would've smoked both of them sec is far superior to what ever the he'll garbage conference these 2 came from mw and was give me a break
Joke of a comment
Kellen Moore the best QB of college football boise state forever
For the broncos maybe but not of all college football.
He was really great to watch tho.

The first new year’s 6 bowl with non power 5 team vs non power 5 team
These two teams were denied of a chance to play at national championship

Being honest Kyle Brotzmen sorry not no how to spell he shanked alot of kicks important ones 2021-22 Jonah he's a solid kicker if only we had him then
Jesus people are still complaining about these teams not getting a shot at the title. Any time a non bcs gets a chance at the top they get thrashed.
both quarterbacks ended up at Cowboys at the same time
Andy dalton lost them that game point blank lmao
Even with today's playoff Boise wouldn't have made it. It would've been ¹Bama vs ⁴TCU and ²Texas vs ³Florida.
They would have the next season tho minus the Nevada lose
Actually cincy was 4 while florida fell to 5
one of the wackest things BCS ever did was pair these 2 in a BCS game... let em play power 5 teams. what are ya scared???
It was arguably the biggest display of corruption

You’d think that after beating Oklahoma the trick plays would be always expected. But they were not lol
Boise kicker was such trash . 2 of Moore's 3 loses as a starter were because he couldn't make easy FGs!
Actually all 3. In the 08 poinsettia bowl they missed an extra point and that was the difference
Damn, the Nevada game...
Facts
Well Andy Dalton a bust anyways
Wasn’t in college though Kinda like kellen Moore same way winnigest qb back in college football then a bust in the nfl
Wouldn’t of beat bama that year, no way
Alabama never played the #1 offensive team nor the #1 defensive team in the country
Well, we can't guarantee everything in college football
Boise st would of beat bama in 2010 though
No chance Boise beats Bama couldn't even beat Nevada
@@brian2440 About 30 teams could have the #1 offense and number #1 Defense playing in the WAC
did brotzman ever not miss in big games i swear smh
