I love seeing more of Ben! He seems like such a chill guy. (Ben, please be my friend)
The addition of Ben for several episodes is very cool. Ben is the Frank Fritz of Chasing Cardboard. LOL. Really like that dude!
@@scottstuber5857 I totally agree!
Wow.. You weren't kidding when you told me this episode was gonna be a good one! Unbelievable!
His biggest mistake was letting a buddy tell him that he has over a million dollars there after grading.
My dream is to find even a fraction of a collection like this to dig through and take the long time to grade. What a fun show!
I’m not a Pokémon fan at all, and this was still one of my all time favorite episodes!
The way you guys approach negotiations, learn from and educate your sellers, and end up somehow finding a way to make everyone a winner is part of the magic of chasing cardboard!
Keep crushing it 💪
Ben is a ratings boost. Lol. Mike is starting to get jealous. And where’s Marcel. I love the growth of the cast of characters. But this doesn’t work without Ty. Thanks for another great episode. Can’t wait for the next one
Why is this not on a network channel! Slide CC right in front of American Pickers!
His laugh after 125k was offered summed it up lol.
I would of to 😂😂😂😂
Who else gets exited when they see a new Chasing Cardboard episode 🙋♂️
Just another 500 subscribers and this channel hits 45k! 🎉
Tell your friends & family and keep this channel growing!
Your offer was STRONG. Kudos as always for being extremely fair. Also, if you ever need a comic expert. You know who to call!
Truly one of, if not the most insane storage unit purchase I have seen. $30k in art, $100k+ in pokemon cards? Are you kidding me? Wow!!!!
Got my fresh xtra large coffee ready to watch.
My favorite show on RUclips and its not even close
I’m not a Pokémon expert, but the guy should have taken the $125K offer. He has basically nothing in them… so he just won a mini lottery. Take that cash and be happy
125k plus the 70k in art , All that would have been from 400$ unit take the deal 😆
@@ryanratcliff2548 Greed and fomo is a powerful thing
Doesn’t make any sense at all. So you open a 200$ hobby box pull a card worth 10k. Do you sell it for a 2k bc the box only cost 200. No. You try to maximize what you got. Sell it for what it’s worth. This goes for everything. You bought. House in 1980 for 100k. It’s worth 2 million today. Do you sell for 1 million. No. You sell at market or as close to Market value as possible
Bad analogy, the guy obviously isnt broke, id love to sell them as i needed money.
Ya the guy just needs to be patient and he'll maximize his sale on the stuff. Sure 125k sounds great.....but so does 200k.....250k. I think it's a good thing he went with the auction
Anyone that says they are expecting 10s and 9s on vintage pokemon stored in a unit is a clown.
He can get 7-8 and still get a grand for one
I hate the upcharge thing. Please tell me why BGS doesn't do it, but PSA insists on charging you more just to give it a better grade. It's still being authenticated and slabbed. Nothing about the upcharges makes any remote sense and that is why I never grade with PSA!!! EVER!.
BGS are the best of a bad bunch. Don't grade with PSA and just buy mint looking PSA 6's. Most are flawless.
Top notch content as usual! Keep Chasin'!!!
The 125K was super generous!
I thought he would have jumped at the opportunity to take the deal, I would have.
50K to spend on grading and that in itself is a huge gamble at that, what if the grades that come back are low, to much risk I think.
I think we’ll need an update on this one fellas.
Great episode!!
@@juliofranco1043 it's hard for us to determind the true value. I felt he was pushing hard near the end for the guy to sell. So the buyer must know he can make some decent coin on the lot.
Really enjoyable episode. I’ve never watched content on Pokémon cards, until today
Let’s goooo chasing Carboard 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
Great collection when he said 550k I thought it was for the whole building not just the pocket mon. I don’t know nothing about that . Great episode I wanted him to counter and said 175k and then meet in the middle at 150k . Please do an update video when it all sales at the end thank you.
Haha $550-600k right down to $125k
Thank you. Every time you have a new episode it’s the highlight of my day. Thanks
Crazy guy spends $400 for an offer of 125k and turns it down very surprised
Pure greed
obviously he knows its worth more. What it cost him has nothing to do it
These episodes are getting epic
Love your content!
This collection needs to get in front of all of the biggest Pokémon collectors! Someone will want to buy it!
Yes they will well worth more than 125k
Awesome episode, Ty. Can't wait for the next one. 👍🤘
Who carefully stores away tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of collectibles in a storage unit but then neglects to pay the $200/month in rent?
Could have been a death?
@@BogusTime7 Must be. A loner with no family or estate lawyer or financial power of attorney . . .
unfortunately he passed away and his family didn't have time to mess with it
Don't let this happen to your collections. Imagine being such an avid collector, over the years you put your time (money) and effort into collating such a collection for it to be lost inside a storage unit and sold for pennies on the dollar.
Great episode, can't wait for the next one!
The person that lost that storage unit, I assumed must have either became ill or passed away. No way he left all that and just stopped paying rent….he could sell one box of cards to pay the rent for years. I am sure he would have wanted his family to benefit from his collection too….I sure hope these folks do the right thing and share this massive windfall with that man’s family. I wish the storage unit places would call people’s family before they auctioned off their stuff…it’s really sad.
Monks! Great coffee shop, been there a few times!
hopefully those boxes arent full of G.I Joe packs.
In my opinon 125k is way too much of a risk ! He will probably never get anywhere near that price point. Everything has to be in flawless condition gem mint , second it is going to take along time to try to get
500k.
Great episode. Great offer. You would be crazy to spend more than 160 with the risk and effort all on the buyer. 300-500k max value, so you gotta start at 300 to account for risk, luck, and effort. Subtract 50-75 on grading is 225-250. Then 60-70% is more than you can expect to get when selling to a reseller. That like 135-175k. That was in my head as fast I can type, so do not quote me on it. If I was a gambling and hustling man, I would go up to 160.
I'm not even a pokemon collector, and I was impressed.
Having recently spent time researching Pokemon cards, due to a charity store pick-up of cards, I'll be very happy if I NEVER see another Pokemon card for the rest of my life! I knew, given the condition, that my find was going to be sub $100 (and I ended up selling them for half that), but the amount of variations and information you need to know is INSANE! Went to the card shop to sell them, and they wouldn't even make me an offer. After that point I had a point to prove to myself. Glad they're gone!!!
So... if I was the seller - who has very little into the lot - I'd have bitten your hand off with your offer, and moved on to something that I liked dealing with. It can all get very overwhelming, very quickly - esp. for people with zero interest in Pokemon.
I love the videos man keep up the good work brother
Great episode and I don't even mess with Pokemon. That was a perfectly fair offer you guys gave. I bet he wakes up at night with regrets of not taking it. I know I would have.
With the Pokémon cards I would broker a deal where I would take a percentage of the total sales.
The vast percentage.
Next episode looks 🔥
Nice collection, great find.
Your cardboard team made a VERY strong offer, for me too much risk
I would never go public, people are nuts this guy probably has some crazy relative, that will be crazy.
Love the videos. Keep the faith and keep chasing.
I am laughing Mao, chasing cardboard spent 2 years buying uhauls of junk wax and when they FINALLY find a collection that they can make a HUGE profit he doesn't have the money to make a somewhat fair offer that may have landed him the collection. Way to be a great guy and let us all know how to get a hold of him though. This was my favorite episode ever past and future.
Great to see Danny phantump here
Loving you guys content love what you do and the abundance of information that you give in the videos about the cards and the history in them soo cool. Keep up that amazing content.
I would contact a Auction House to sell the LV suitcase
Great video and amazing Pokemon collection. Just want to say that Japanese cards are worth less than their English counterparts. Vintage Japanese holo cards were printed more and in some sets were even guaranteed every pack.
Wow just wow. I’m not big into Pokemon but this is an amazing collection and if I had the money I would have bought it
I've really enjoyed Ben on these episodes!
I woulda taken the $125K and ran...what is the old saying about a bird in the hand? haha
I saw a little footage of comic books...what was the deal with those?
I think the value of the Pokemon are in between what he has it valued and what your guys have it valued at. It’s definitely not as much as they think.
The guy clearly does not understand how much condition matters with Pokemon and how it impacts value. Also as a pokemon collector I could never look at a booster box that age or any of those cards and just assume legit. Now it may be but that would take an expert errrrr knowledgeable collector to look at and determine, first! Should have never been an offer unless agreed examined first. Good luck to Gordon Gekko The reals tory here after all that is what happened to the collections owner, death no family... thats a story worth chasing, And if they didnt buy some of that stuff like the top loader binders etc thats fairly new trends. So weird or sad.
plot twist - they are all fake
Worth no where near 400-500K
Dude is dreaming on that 400-500k appraisal…not a chance in….
Should have taken the 125k
We DO NOT want CC to become a a TV show! Organtic and real shows like CC get ruined once they go to "Hollywood". Plus cable TV is a dying industry.
I mean it’s easy, comp the boxes and make an offer, leave the singles for him to deal with, maybe buy just the charizards and blastoises raw off recent comps
50k in grading? Dude must have a millions worth there
POKEMON GRIAL 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥FOUND
Wow,🥳
The delusion at 400k to 500k valuation. This guy was steered wrong and it will cost him money.
That guy had people boosting the price up that doesnt know what they are talking about. 125k was a good offer. What a fool to let that go. He thinks he is going to get 500k he is kidding himself.
Lol
I would be afraid to show my place with all those valuable collectibles. A lot of thieves out there and it only takes one to break in & ruin your life.
Sometimes No is the answer your looking for.
Sorry...but these sellers had "pie-in-the-sky" dreams. I highly doubt they are going to get the money they THINK they are going to get. It was BEST you walked away. Frankly, I think the two of you dodged a bullet.
Gee...remember the Funko Pop debacle? Although I think you would have did better here......I still think it was best you walked.
These cards are HARD to get 9s and 10s thats why 9s and 10s are so valuable
What I would do if I was him. Pick out the most valuable nicest looking ones grade them if they come out highly graded sell them use that money and grade others and just gauge where you are . If they are coming back 10s continue grading if you’re getting 7s just stop and sell raw
Make a deal with an auction house. No offense to chasing cardboard, but if you don’t need the money and auction houses, probably going to maximize your profit
Good move by him keeping his cards and grading. Will make 3x what they offered and it’s all liquid easy to move.
He won't if the PSA grader creases his cards and gives them all 5's
Wow
Ima Pokémon expert and would appraise the entire collection
65-75K Tops, I dont think the value is there at 500k unless they were all graded cards. Pokemon is a weird hobby, should a big difference on value depending on who you talk to. I would stay away.
18:28 this singular card would be close to $50,000 alone if it were to grade a 10. At a 9 it falls to $5k. The range of this collection could space anywhere from $50,000 to $500k+. At least he has guaranteed value with the vintage sealed booster boxes/theme decks.
I can only say good luck with your wants but they are not going to meet others needs....take the deal 🎉 Greed destroyed the world .... it's just paper without real monetary value. Pokemon is like beanie babies.... it's going to fall down quickly soon.
Someone get ahold of Logan Paul 🚀
I mean this guy would be kind of dumb to not grade and sell all of this himself. A lot more money in it.
Yo, you kinda look like The King Of Random
this is not worth what u think but go ahead buddy get it all graded and see what happens lmao gl!
BBCE and Pokémon shouldn’t be associated with each other anymore lol
My opinion he should have taken that 125k and ran to the bank. Always ok to leave some meat on the bone for the next guy. Plus he is loosing interest on that 125k. My faith in pokemon cards for the future does not exist. Great episode
Hellll no there's a ton more there then 125k
Right 35-40 k for one box I see these pokemon rippers on you tube will be calling him to buy real soon
I think the up charge is a pathetic rip off……it’s no different than Kamala’s unrecognized value income tax 😅….you could end up with a 10 grade that’s really an 8 or 9 just so pathetic PSA can scam xtra fees
Looks like over millions to me
This guy was kind of cringe to me.. he just wanna show off his find and brag? And then he laughed at an offer.. be better man. be better. The Pokemon market can be brutal.
This guy talks about wanting to wait to see if prices are going to go back to what they were in Covid era. 😂 clueless.
That low ball offer 125k LOL Trying to make profit of 375k damn guys.
They’re not 1st Edition. You’ll need to grade these cards and hope for PSA 10’s to either make profit or worse case brake even. Not to mention the boosters are not authenticated so he’s takin a risk.
These guys completely try to rip people off. Its comical
Oh yeah? How did we try to rip someone off?
Hes does'nt buy it nothing!! BS
Less talking, more deals.
I love this chanel but I always get the sense that they are exploiting the community for profit. Especially when they try to frame it like they want to "help" people at the end of the day it's a business for profit.
exploiting the community? really dude?
@@HavingFunAllDay-jt1pu how hard is it to understand?? Buying low selling at the highest possible...? Am I missing something?
@@keepmymindpreoccupied How is that exploiting the community? Buying and selling is done every day all across the world. It's called capitalism
This comment didn't age well. This exact episode they didn't buy and gave "the community" the sellers email address. 😂😂😂😂
@@HavingFunAllDay-jt1pu cool like I said FOR PROFIT I on the other hand wish actual collectors would find and buy them directly from these people but instead we got to watch Mr. Capitalism find great deals and charge us more for them 🙌 love it. Thanks guys! 👍
13:15 this is lowkey disrespectful😭 “is this any high end stuff than this” I don’t know Pokémon like that but I can imagine it’s like showing some a 52 mantle and a honus Wagner and being like is their anything better than this??😭😭
I don't think was the intent but I guess it can be interpreted that way... Note, the buyer doesn't know Pokemon well and he also wants to see if the seller is hiding anything, so he can throw a proper offer.
Like when it was just baseball cards. Not it's everything. Greed is green!
I’m not a Pokémon fan at all, and this was still one of my all time favorite episodes!
The way you guys approach negotiations, learn from and educate your sellers, and end up somehow finding a way to make everyone a winner is part of the magic of chasing cardboard!

I would be afraid to show my place with all those valuable collectibles. A lot of thieves out there and it only takes one to break in & ruin your life.
First of all, HE thinks they're valuable.....I'm not so sure they are worth what they think they are. NOthing is worth anything UNTIL you sell it. These guys thought every THING in there was valuable.
