Shawn was amazing. One of the saddest deaths in sports history. Guy was headed for the Ed Reed/Brian Dawkins/Ronnie Lott/Jack Tatum level. Number 21 was one of the few good things about the last 20 years of Skins football.
The brightest spot. He was special. The vibes we are getting from Jayden, is the same we got from Sean Taylor the very moment took the field. He was a generational talent.
Mike Sellers was always my favorite player when I was a kid. Dude was tough and did all the dirty work playing FB. I also met him once when I was 6. His car broke down and I was hanging out at work with my dad, who managed a mechanic shop and did a lot of towing broken down cars. Me, my dad and this massive human rode back to the shop together in this tow truck. He was so nice and upbeat. I still have the card he signed and gave to me. He ended up playing with the Redskins for like 11 or 12 years.
Fellow Sellers fan too. Worked for Enterprise at Dulles Airport and he would be in a lot. Cool dude. Always laughing and joking with everybody. Wish he was still playing for WSH!
Sean taylor was so awesome to watch so explosive and put everything into every play he would of been a hall of famer for sure ..... so sad gone too soon #21............................ also love this channel thank you for everything you guys are doing cant wait for the next one have a fun sunday yall
Born outside of Baltimore, but there wasn’t a ravens team in ‘91, so I was raised a Redkins fan.. moved to just outside Detroit, never left the Skins but grabbed onto the Wings. Love the channel. Good to be a Washington or a Detroit fan rn, in the nfl. The TWO BEST TEAMS IN THE NFC!! See you in the NFC Championship game!
In Super Bowl XXII, Washington Redskins quarterback Doug Williams set two Super Bowl passing records and became the first Black quarterback to start and win a Super Bowl. Impressive. Awesome game.
I saw Art Monk play in person and on TV and he was one of the greatest of all time. Outside of the old heads in the fanbase, not enough credit is given to Joe Jacoby
I'm old, been a fan since 1970. I'd be here all day. Back in the day, I was a Riggins, Sonny, and Grimm fan. Jacoby was underrated, he still isn't HoF. I loved Fischer, he was an undersized superhero; always played over his weight class. Larry Brown was used like a red-headed stepchild and kept coming back. Later it was Darryl Green, another undersized superhero. The duo of Dexter Manley and Charles Mann. Joe Gibbs winning SBs with 3 different QBs, I think that still stands alone. My favorite SB was against Broncos with Doug Wms at QB; THAT, was a spanking.
Thanks for the content! Mount Rushmore to me means 4 - here are mine: Sammy Baugh, John Riggins, Sonny Jurgenson, Darrell Green. Anybody reading this who doesn't know how Sammy Baugh is should go look him up. One of the pioneers of the game.
I'm 63 and originally from DC. I'm old enough to remember running back Larry Brown. He was a beast. I've lived in an Atlanta suburb for the last 27 years. And I'm sorely conflicted between the Falcons and Commanders. My dream is that they play each other in the NFC Championship Game this year. AND MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN! Lol
As a young guy my dad took me to Carlisle pa about 45 minutes from home to whatch the skins practice! Had to be 1987ish!? Was born and raised a skins fan and that Washington team will never have a different name in my book! HTTR!
Naming only 4 top Redskins/Commanders all-time is hard, especially since we've been around since 1933. But, if my hand was forced based on talent and accolades, #1 Sammy Baugh - who was our QB, S, & P w/ too many accolades to mention drafted in 1937 , #2 Darrell Green - CB & KR/PR, fastest man in football and also too many accolades to mention, #3 John Riggins RB with too many accolades to mention and #4 Joe Gibbs - HC but there may not even be a Green or Riggins without him. Notable mentions: Doug Williams, Sean Taylor, Charlie Taylor, Art Monk, Gary Clark, Chris Hanburger, Russ Grimm, Joe Jacoby, Sonny Jurgeson, Bobby Mitchell and, of course, he couldn't read but he'd decapitate your backfield, Mr. Dexter Manley
Just some notes on the Lattimore trade. Washington still has the 3rd they got from the Jahan Datson trade, which is the Dolphins 3rd. Also, remember the difference between the Commanders 4th round pick and the Saints 5th is probably gonna be 10 spots max. Washington sent the Saints back their sixth they got for John Ridgeway. Adam Peters turned Datson and John Ridgeway into Lattimore and moved back like 10 picks on day three. Genius.
Top 3 players, I would have to pick from this list: Sonny Jurgensen, Charley Taylor, Art Monk, Larry Brown, The entire "Hogs" OL under Gibbs, Pat Fisher, Daryl Green, Sean Taylor, Dave Butz, Charles Mann, and Doug Williams. Good luck in picking three from that list.
There is so many great players from the Redskins. Sean Taylor, John Riggins , Darrell Green, Joe Thiesman, I could go on and on. I have followed the Redskins since 1978.
For funzies, Brian Mitchell, Chris Cooley, Sean Springs, Champ Bailey, Clinton Portis, Marcus Washington, Chris Samuels, Jon Jansen, Steven Davis, London Fletcher, Trae Mckenzie, Sean Taylor
Rushmore: Art Monk, Darrel Green, John Riggins, and Sean Taylor. There’s also the “hogs” with Jacoby, Bostic, Doc Walker, and the rest. We have kickers like Mosely and Lomiller. Jergunsen, and Theisman. Gary Clark, Rickey Sanders, and Charlie Brown. Manley, and Mann. Mitchell and Byner. The list goes on and on.
Darrell Green, Sonny Jurgenson, Art Monk, Dave Butz, Sean Taylor, John 'The Diesel' Riggins, Gary Clark, Doug Williams, Joe Jacoby, Dexter Manley, Champ Bailey, Mark Moseley, Todd Bowles, among others
I loved Dexter Manley & LaVar Arrington but Darrell Green was my all-time favorite. Honestly, there are really too many great players to name being that I have been a fan for almost 60 years.
Mount Rushmore: John Riggins, Darrel Green, Art Monk, Joe Jacoby Honorable mentions: Dexter Manley, Charles Mann, Gary Clark, Sonny Jurgensen, Dave Butz, Monte Coleman, Chris Hanburger, Mark Moseley, Charley Taylor. it's been soo long I've thought of some of them, I can't remember half of them.

John rigging, mark mosley, Gary Clark, Doug Williams, Darrell green, Dave butz, russ grim, Joe Jacoby, Ricky sanders, Santana moss, dexter Manley, Shaun Taylor, Joe thiesman, Sammy bauh, Fred Smoot
Terry Allen playing for Redskins AFTER getting both knee surgeries. Really liked Cooley too, how many fans could possibly NOT have DG28 on their list? Tackle Chris Samuels, another of my favorites, as was Mike Sellers.
Darryl Green, John Riggins, Art Monk, Doug Williams. Joe Theismann, I know he was the ultimate diva, but he was the quarterback that helped the Redskins to their first Super Bowl victory in 82'.
Ken Houston, John Riggins, Sonny Jurgenson, Joe Thiesman, Mark Rypien, Doug Williams, Joe Jocoby, Russ Grimm, Dexter Manley, Art Monk, Gary clark, Chris Hamburger, Darrell Green, Sean Taylor, Larry Brown, Earnest Byner, Joe Washington, George Rodgers, Dave Butz, Ryan Kerrigan, Darryl Grant, Sammy Baugh, Charley Taylor, Clinton Portis, London Flecher , Jerry Smith, Brian Mitchell, Mike Bass, LaVar Arrinigton, Brig Owens, Wilber Marshall, Champ Bailey, Trent Williams, Deangelo Hall
Okay...absolute respect to the Detroit Lions. They are a legitimately scary team. And if Washington were to meet them in the playoffs...I don't know. But first off...the absolute HOF is Barry Sanders. And if you don't know NFL running backs.....Barry Sanders is the absolute greatest RB in the NFL. If Washington and Detroit were to clash again in the NFC Championship....It would be a toss up. As a Washington fan....Detroit scares the hell out of me.
And Lattimore is signed for the next 2 seasons w/ a base salary of $605,000.00!!! Excellent move!!!! Not to mention getting the Left Tackle right with a rookie in the 3rd round.
Sammy Baugh, Darrell Green, Art Monk and John Riggins. Sean Taylor would have been up there if he hadn't been taken from us too soon. Dexter Manly, Gary Clark, Brian Mitchell, Russ Grimm... the Team is 92 years old. We've got a lot of guys.
Dexter Manley, Art Monk, Joe Jacoby, John Riggins, Dave Butz, Darryl Green, Monte Coleman, Sean Taylor.
Great list I'd like to add Charles Mann and Ryan kerrigan
Champ Bailey
Mark Mosely, the only kicker to ever win MVP!
You left out my boy #30 Brian Mitchell
Joe Theisman
Sean Taylor was the bright spot in dark times for us. I'll never forget Sean even if he only played a few seasons due to his untimely death.
#21 ❤

John Riggins, Brian Mitchell, Art Monk. Gary Clark. Dexter Manley, Darrell Green so many greats
Dexter Manley , Charles Mann, Doug Williams, Mark Mosley, Joe Jacoby
Doug played ONE great quarter for us, not sure he qualifies as an Mt Rushmore candidate.
@@Bellthoriannah you gotta put Doug in consideration just for that Superbowl performance alone
He was a back up...@@SorryNotSorry4You
I gotta go with Dexter Manley, Art Monk, Darryl Green, Joe Thiesmann, John Riggins. You can't have a Rushmore without John Riggins
@Bellthorian First Black QB To Get The Chip..He Definitely Qualifies

Darrell Green and John riggins the epitome of Joe Gibbs success
