Notice how Hayden changed his fighting style between Anakin and Vader. Anakin was more swift, Vader on the other hand was full on brute force and intense.
I swear anything Dave Filoni touches is star wars gold. He knows how to tell a story. I’m not just talking about the nostalgia involving bringing back Heyden. I’m talking about how Ahsoka’s guilt has been carried over from series to series. He knows how to start a story and knows when to end it. The man should be running all things Star Wars.
That part at 1:23 is a call-back to when Vader used that move on Obi-wan during their fight on Mustafar! I also love how much heavier Anakin's slashes are when he tapped into his dark-side combat style. In a metaphorical, yet literal sense, Ahsoka has defeated Vader thru this "Live or Die" training session. Brilliant!
It seemed he let her win or the choreograohy for her to win was awful. She just took his saber from him? Hes the strongest jedi in the galaxy at that point. Aint no one just taking his saber out his hand

Im sure this is actually anakins force ghost and finally achieving bringing balance to the force as a literal super power having already experienced both. I like how he can easily switch from light to dark at will without any issues to train Ashoka.
It definitely is Anakin’s Force Ghost. When Ahsoka said, “I will not fight you,” and Anakin responded, “I’ve heard that before”…. WOW! It’s really him, the full Anakin with all of his life’s experience including fighting his son and then saving his son’s life and killing Palpatine.
@@MRob6971 Agreed, it would be nonsensical at this point to not have a scene with Anakin and Luke. Luke after all is already aware of his force ghost from the end of ROTJ. I'm not sure they'll meet in the show. Maybe it'll end on a cliffhanger, anakin telling her where she can find Luke. Thrawn will escape in the show, and in the movie, ahsoka, luke, din djarin and bo katan might all fight thrawn together. Space Avengers

Really cool to see a pre-fall Anakin who has all of Vader’s experiences. He’s certainly fully acquainted with the light and dark. I like how wise and mature they present him, because it really throws you off when you’re used to prequel Anakin.
Anakin gave her Vader so she could learn how to move past her guilt/trauma. Her entire time in there was truly a master and padawan moment and exactly what she needed to find conviction and to survive.
The lighting of the red blade on both their faces was perfect with the yellowing of their eyes 👌 visuals were on point. Fight Choreography 10/10 it told a story
Her eyes really did glow. It was to show Anakin she can channel both dark and light, without falling to the dark side as he did. She learned the lesson.
1:38 Holy.... Probably the most frightening that Vader has ever seemed. Because this is how powerful he would have been without any cybernetics. This is the version of Vader that even Palpatine feared, and why he was lucky that Vader was arrogant enough to be his own undoing. Because no one would have been able to stand against him if he wasn't horrifically injured on Mustafar.
That transition between Anakin and Vader is beautiful. This entire scene represents how Anakin and Darth Vader have become the same person and that Anakin had become the balance of the force.
I was just saying that. Like my man,, you helped subjugate the whole galaxy for over 20 years. You think we about to just slide past that? Like we got some stuff to talk about😂😂😂
I noticed this while watching; if that was real the Darth Vader...she would've died already. There 2 times she would've died in a real fight against him. Anakin was holding back to teach her
He wasn't gonna kill her, but he got aggressive enough for her to snap outta her guilt and let go. This was like 5% of Knightfall Anakin she experienced. She would have easily been killed.
Something I couldn’t help but notice that connects to the Obi-Wan show. Both Obi-Wan and Ahsoka were wracked with guilt over what happened with Anakin. When Obi-Wan defeated Vader by cutting off half his mask, and he saw Anakin, he lets out a lament, and the response is: “ You didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker, I did.” Releasing his burden of guilt. Ahsoka defeats an unmasked Vader and sees Anakin one last time, proud of her. Releasing her burden of guilt. Vader/Anakin served a similar purpose in both stories.
You can tell Hayden has perfected the art of lightsaber fighting. He trained for so long he is practically flawless and after almost 20 years he still has the same energy and spark when fighting, literally got Battle of Mustafar vibes from Hayden.
I have to say that of all the actors who have wield a lightsaber in live action Hayden is the most enjoyable to watch. He’s got the right stance, perfect strikes, and coolest moves.
Two observations: At the end of the duel, Anakin/Vader had her in the same defeated position Baylan had her before she fell off the cliff. In her duel with Baylan, she was demoralized by Sabine and gave up "Live or die." However, in her fight with Vader, Ahsoka fought back overpowering Vader and at 2:28 her eyes glowed red, but she spared him in the end teaching her that she can be a survivor without losing herself (throughout her appearances we begin to get hints that Ahsoka has strayed from the jedi path). I think in the rematch between Ahsoka and Baylan she's going to come out on top and spare him or make a noble sacrifice that proves she isn't like her Master whose legacy according to Baylan was "death and destruction." I think Baylan and Shin will turn to the light again by ep 8.
The way he just keeps walking towards Ahsoka plus the flash to Vader as he walks out of the smoke.....add in Vader's breathing. First thought was "oh you're fucked. Run!"
Kylo and Rey are crying... how 2 minutes of combat with Anakin & Ashoka from a mini series was able to do better than 6 hours of films. (2015-2019) even if it was just a nightmare of Ashoka !!
Man Obi Wan really helped the galaxy dodge a bullet when he threw Anakin into that lava pool. If Anakin was like this instead of in the suit I don't know if Luke would have been able to stop him.

@@vananon51that was the saber’s reflection
Maybe so, but it was still intentional for the saber to reflect on her eyes for a moment when she had the choice to "kill" Vader/Anakin.
You’re imagining things her eyes never turned red it’s just the reflection of the light saber
Anakin saying incorrect like that, stomping through the fog flexing his shoulders like that and flashing into Vader
It was utterly terrifying
At 1:33 you can hear Darth Vader's breathing. To this day, it still sends a shiver down my spine. Dave Feloni really out did himself.
I love that you can tell Anakin isn't trying to beat Ahsoka here, there's plenty of times he could've.
He's trying to completely terrify her with Vader, so that when she beats him, that fear and guilt will beaten too.
1:46 Hayden when it comes to lightsaber choreography is just simply unmatched bro. The way he moves his body around while swinging the red saber is incredible
The most scarier walk ever...as he walks towards her with the saber. Love this.
Anakin has become the very embodiment of the light and dark side with those transitions
Notice how Hayden changed his fighting style between Anakin and Vader. Anakin was more swift, Vader on the other hand was full on brute force and intense.
The amount of detail was phenomenal
There's a nice little rhythm to Anakin's style, too. You can hear it after his twirl. And it's completely gone with Vader.
Utmost confident and precision too.
The man should be running all things Star Wars.
lol
🤠 🤡 l
I agree, he's the only one that at least can make Star Wars
That part at 1:23 is a call-back to when Vader used that move on Obi-wan during their fight on Mustafar!
I also love how much heavier Anakin's slashes are when he tapped into his dark-side combat style.
In a metaphorical, yet literal sense, Ahsoka has defeated Vader thru this "Live or Die" training session. Brilliant!
Yes saw that too, when he was choking obi wan same resemblance!!
It seemed he let her win or the choreograohy for her to win was awful. She just took his saber from him? Hes the strongest jedi in the galaxy at that point. Aint no one just taking his saber out his hand
@user-zz9mq1vp5t Bruh he was mentoring her not trying to kill her. Of course he was holding back. Stop glazing Anakin for a second and take a objective look at what you're watching
@@ZacharyLastname-x8xi think he let her have that moment. I mean did you see how he was destroying her though out the entire fight?!
When she leans into his red saber and her eyes turn sith color, that was so well done
That was one of the coolest moments in this scene. Seeing how little people talk about it, I wonder how many did notice. I certainly did
Her eyes never changed it’s just the lightsaber reflections
@@paulog.5788idiot it's sith eyes the lightsaber reflection yellow and the saber red 😭😂😂 stupid
@paulog.5788 what a coincidence...
Im sure this is actually anakins force ghost and finally achieving bringing balance to the force as a literal super power having already experienced both. I like how he can easily switch from light to dark at will without any issues to train Ashoka.
This is what "Becoming more powerful then you can possibly imagine" looks like.
Lol he gets to choose which youngling dies
It definitely is Anakin’s Force Ghost. When Ahsoka said, “I will not fight you,” and Anakin responded, “I’ve heard that before”…. WOW! It’s really him, the full Anakin with all of his life’s experience including fighting his son and then saving his son’s life and killing Palpatine.
I hope we get to see Luke again in the show. It would be a real trip having them side by side.
Bet my bottom dollar they will in the future. Almost mandatory at this point.
@@MRob6971 Agreed, it would be nonsensical at this point to not have a scene with Anakin and Luke. Luke after all is already aware of his force ghost from the end of ROTJ. Ahsoka SOME HOW finds out about Luke; considering this takes place after BoBF, I have to imagine it's not because Anakin's ghost tells her.
I'm not sure they'll meet in the show. Maybe it'll end on a cliffhanger, anakin telling her where she can find Luke. Thrawn will escape in the show, and in the movie, ahsoka, luke, din djarin and bo katan might all fight thrawn together. Space Avengers
The closet we'll have is from a book. Shadows of The Sith gives Luke and Anakin time go interact
@@MRob6971 I want to believe it but it wont happen because of Kathleen Kennedy who flat out hates Luke and was really angry on his appearence in season 2 and book of boba. Along with rob us of Luke meeting Boba again.
The transitions from anakin to vader, the sith eyes, the fighting, the callbacks. Man this was such a amazing episode
Really cool to see a pre-fall Anakin who has all of Vader’s experiences. He’s certainly fully acquainted with the light and dark. I like how wise and mature they present him, because it really throws you off when you’re used to prequel Anakin.
He's a jedi master now
Anakin gave her Vader so she could learn how to move past her guilt/trauma. Her entire time in there was truly a master and padawan moment and exactly what she needed to find conviction and to survive.
The lighting of the red blade on both their faces was perfect with the yellowing of their eyes 👌 visuals were on point. Fight Choreography 10/10 it told a story
Hayden is the BOMB here! His very movements as he channels Vader here are just spot on, and he's truly terrifying in his skill as a fighter.
I just love how casually Anakin dodges most of Ahsoka's attacks
“Time to die” is such a Vader expression 🤣 Imagine hearing that through the suit.
2:28 I'm pretty sure it's just because of Anakins lightsaber but Ahsoka getting the temporary sith looking eyes was chilling.
Her eyes really did glow. It was to show Anakin she can channel both dark and light, without falling to the dark side as he did. She learned the lesson.
There was definitely some yellow there. Her eyes gain some red tint cause of the saber, but her irises turn completely uniformly yellow.
@@j-diciousofficial ohhhh
1:38 Holy....
Probably the most frightening that Vader has ever seemed. Because this is how powerful he would have been without any cybernetics.
This is the version of Vader that even Palpatine feared, and why he was lucky that Vader was arrogant enough to be his own undoing.
Because no one would have been able to stand against him if he wasn't horrifically injured on Mustafar.
1:04 that slight head tilt
"incorrect"
You just KNOW you got the bad ending.
That transition between Anakin and Vader is beautiful. This entire scene represents how Anakin and Darth Vader have become the same person and that Anakin had become the balance of the force.
The Shoulder reload he does while walking is just epic
Seeing Anakin with a red lightsaber reminds me of the Revenge of the Sith video game!
"Is that what this is about?"
lmao Anakin sounds almost offended Ahsoka is still angsting about him becoming Vader.
I was just saying that. Like my man,, you helped subjugate the whole galaxy for over 20 years. You think we about to just slide past that? Like we got some stuff to talk about😂😂😂
Never watched clone wars but it’s still really gratifying to see hayden pull off a properly written anakin/vader
The way he moves full power not held back by his cybernetics was scary as all hell. The way he just stormed at her. Hayden crushed it!!!
Facts
Beautiful and incredible at the same time. Seeing the Clone Wars in live action, outstanding 👏.
The synthesized mix of Anakin and Vaders voices….mad! Mad chills!!!
The breathing when they go back into the World, followed by the flashes of the suit and the Vader filter on Hayden’s voice…
This episode was masterful
People talked about Anakin and a red lightsaber in ROTS. Now it's canon
That gesture when he says "Incorrect...", PERFECTION
"You lack conviction." The rise of Anakins voice over Vaders muffle is heard, rather than the other way around back in Rebels.
There isn’t anybody in Hayden’s league when it comes to convincing lightsaber form.
Something I couldn’t help but notice that connects to the Obi-Wan show.
Both Obi-Wan and Ahsoka were wracked with guilt over what happened with Anakin.
When Obi-Wan defeated Vader by cutting off half his mask, and he saw Anakin, he lets out a lament, and the response is: “ You didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker, I did.”
Releasing his burden of guilt.
Ahsoka defeats an unmasked Vader and sees Anakin one last time, proud of her.
Releasing her burden of guilt.
Vader/Anakin served a similar purpose in both stories.
Honestly, how can anyone beat Anakins/Hayden's saber style? It's perfect. Aggressive, looks beautiful. That character is just insane.
It's badass to see how Vader's moves would look if he didn'y lose his limbs and didn't had the armor restraining his potential.
1:38 - 1:45
Jeff Bezos catches an employee on a bathroom break
The way he just keeps walking towards Ahsoka plus the flash to Vader as he walks out of the smoke.....add in Vader's breathing. First thought was "oh you're fucked. Run!"
The overlapping voice of Anakin and Vader. For me …. Chef’s kiss 😘 beautiful transition together
You edit some of the best clips from this era of Star Wars thank you for all the work you do editing these things
I take that back this whole team deserves an oscar
Dave Filoni has given us a glimpse of Anakin if he won on mustafar. Vader’s fighting style without the suits limitations.
Every Rebels fan who stuck with the show or gave it a chance just unlocked ultimate satisfaction.😂
That walk is scary, and devious holy
Kylo and Rey are crying...
how 2 minutes of combat with Anakin & Ashoka from a mini series was able to do better than 6 hours of films. (2015-2019)
even if it was just a nightmare of Ashoka !!
Hahaha, so true
*for Ahsoka.
Man Obi Wan really helped the galaxy dodge a bullet when he threw Anakin into that lava pool. If Anakin was like this instead of in the suit I don't know if Luke would have been able to stop him.
a detail i love is when he is vader his fighting style is much more agressive
Say what you want about this series, but can we agree the bit where he briefly turns into Vader and says 'You lack conviction' is awesome?
Damn man. The Chosen One is the greyest of all grey Jedi ever, The dude can be himself and summon Vader at will. (while still holding back to teach her)
We love you Hayden ❤.
Your performance here is breathtaking it really lives up to what everyone knew you could always do, had you been given stronger dialogue. Now that us prequel fans are all older we really get to see all the time, dedication, and hard work you’ve done as an actor. We see it in every move and step you take in these fight scenes and the performance when delivering these hard emotionally hitting lines. So again thank you so much for continuing your portrayal of Anakin/Vader despite not getting the love till later on. LOVE YOU SKYGUY! ❤
This is the Hayden I wish we had for the prequel trilogy. He simply wasn't ready at the time but his performance here and in Kenobi really do sell him as both Anakin and Vader.
personally, i felt like hayden was fine in the prequels, BUT i will say he has definitely stepped up his game since then
This episode of Ahsoka did what the prequel movies didn’t do:
THEY ACTUALLY MADE CLONE TROOPER SUITS AND HAD PEOPLE WEAR THEM INSTEAD OF LOOKING CG AND TOO ANIMATED
But goddamn I loved the Clone Wars flashbacks, Anakin in his General Attire, and just Hayden Christensen being back as Anakin😩😩😩
I wish they would’ve used CGI. The clones looked awful
I just love how when Ahsoka at 1:28 goes for the head Anakin don't even flinch.
I didn’t even notice in the first watch there Ahsoka’s eyes turned yellow for a second. 2:22
Hayden is just such a phenomenal duelist. He really puts all the others to shame lmao. He should come on and be the new choreographer 😅
I love how he has a hint of matt lanter anakin in his performance.
Ashoka’s Sith eyes before she throws Vader’s saber and chooses to live. 😮😮😮
Idk I think that was just the red from the saber reflecting on her eyes
Vader is already scary, but Anakin with SITH EYES and red lightsaber walking towards YOU 😨💀
Please give Hayden Christensen his own Clone Wars show or alternate universe Vader show. This guy deserves it.
Glad to see Hayden still has it after nearly 20 years and fans being more appreciative of him now! It's awesome how it seems he's blended form ii and form five saber style into a lethal combination!
This is the Vader that Sidious would have wanted
You can feel how dark, heavy, powerful and horrifying Anakin became to be with the sound of those footsteps.
Filoni was cooking with gas doing these scenes. Easily one of the best disney star wars scenes
0:51 1:05 1:43 2:06 Hayden is really the goat bro. The way he can go from the mentor older brother figure he was towards Ahsoka to the cold and menacing Vader persona WITHOUT THE SUIT in a flash is INCREDIBLE
