Funny that, barman been there 22 years and hears no complaints. I’ve been in Temple Bar once, for an hour and heard the American man at the bar moaning to his friend about the price at the bar. What are the chances eh?
I understand how pints from abroad can be expensive but how is a Guinness in Dublin between €6-10 yet a Guinness in Spain is €3. The bloody thing is brewed 100 metres down the road in Dublin
Ireland has better salaries than Spain. Irish people go to Spain and Portugal and say how much cheaper it is there but it's because people there earn less.
What good is having better salaries when the average rent of an apartment is 2000e per Month. This country is a fucking joke, being rode left right and centre, while the clowns in the Dail are laughing at the average Joe.
Great to see you posting again Daragh! Went to Dublin in March for the first time so watched a lot of your videos to get an insight of where to go. Dublin was ace. As a tourist one thing about Temple Bar pub was the atmosphere was worth paying the extra for the pint, all be it we had a better pint of Guinness in Bowes for a few Euros less but we were the only ones in there at the time. Having the music and a packed bar was worth it for me, totally agree with what you say about Temple Bar Keep up the good work mate 👍🏻👍🏻
great one Daragh 👍👍 planning my first trip to Ireland for next year, finally 🙂and your videos help a lot. especially as I'll try to not be in Dublin anyway 😋

Do a pub crawl between the 3 you can have 2 pints in each, that's 6 pints in real Dublin Pubs for pretty much the same as 3 pints in Temple Bar. Leave Temple Bar to the Tourists.

what you said at the end is quite important imo because many people online seem to not get what it means for a place to be "touristy". reddit threads will be full of locals going "shush, if you tell people where the good pubs are those will become touristy too" but when im looking for a "non-touristy" pub i just mean a high quality establishment with a sincere/authentic atmosphere, not whether other tourists are present. when i visited dublin i did avoid the pubs in temple bar solely because they were generally too crowded for me, but didnt mind paying some 8 or 9 euro for a pint when one had live music and good seats at the time
Great video. I go to town for pints regularly. I do Temple bar once a year and every year really enjoy it , always at Christmas. Does be great fun and a great atmosphere
The Temple bar is a tourist trap and every touristy city has one if not many. Anybody who walks in and gets stung by the prices is the same type of tourist who is gonna get caught in other tourist traps elsewhere. These places will always exist and since no Dubliner in the right mind would ever willingly walk in there for a few pints then so be it. Have never been in there despite working around the corner in a pub many years ago but am surprised with how cozy is actually looks in this vid. Still wouldn't be caught dead in there but at least it looks pretty comfortable.
Further to last comment, the average price for a Guinness in a Glasgow pub is around £5 which I think is reasonable. The best Guinness over here is a 4 pack from the off licence. Brilliant with a creamy head! Slainte !!!

First trip to Ireland about 18 months ago. Planning a return next year. Walked around the Temple Bar area but mostly hit pubs just outside the area, better and cheaper just blocks away. Doyles, Bowes, Stags Head is beautiful, Darkey Kelly’s, The Old Stand.

The most scary thing about the temple bar is I was in there in 2017 and the price was €6.50, then as u say 2021 its €6.90 a 40 cent increase in 4 years compared to a €3 increase in the 3 years that followed.
Went there 17th of October, Xmas decoration was already up and we where shocked of the price and felt it was to high. nice one Daragh!
Temple, front bar more expensive than one further inside 😂😂
My old local the auld triangle a great shop ..use to drink in temple bar when it was €4:65 a pint a Guinness that’s was 18 years ago …
Had 2 pints at an airport in Sochi last week……the equivalent of 28 euro….14 euro a pint…..i was so excited to see Guinness in the bar that I didn’t even look at the price……
Ouch
My nephew is 6 yrs old and I worked out what a pint of Guinness would be on his 18th birthday in Temple Bar based on the price increases, it will be €20/pint
I reckon we’ll have some economic crash before that. Prices didn’t go up a whole lot between 2008 to 2014 in Dublin (if that all!).
Wow you must be like rain man or something.
That’s taking pissh €9.90 a pint Guinness
My local Wetherspoon is £2.49!
Video ideas. Guinness guru at WIldhorse Brewery in Llandudno. Try all their beers and compare to the best Guinness in Llandudno. Rinse and repeat around the country with different breweries and cities. Always ending with the best Guinness in the area, plus throw in a few awful pints. We all love a shit pint
1:40 😯😯😯 wtf that is ludicrous.
The Guinness guru is back. Or is he
That looks a brilliant pub. I'm from Glasgow and would gladly pay £10 sterling for a Guinness there. Might come over😊😊😅!
