❌️ I made it this far & I'm kicking debt to the curb! I paid off my Capital 1 card balance today. Going forward I plan to carry less than 10% each month when it's time to report to the credit bureaus and I'll pay it completely off each month before the due date so I won't have to pay any interest!
I ordered a digital download copy of the paycheck tracker and the expense sheet from budget mom! I plan to start using it beginning with my 1st paycheck in March (this Friday). I would love fkr you to do an updated, completely new Debt Confession/ Debt listing sheet as of March 4th, 2023. Of course write down the debt carried over from the first Debt Confession. But include the newly discovered and also created over the next 6 months. The $59 very old debt would be something to add to the new sheet. If you seek info from the other 2 credit reporting agencies and find old debts, add those too. If you incurr additional tax liabilities, add them. May it not occurr, but if you add medical debt include that too. And thennthere is what ever may occur from court too. - You deserve to take credit for the wins on items which may come up like the old $59 item.
For general scoring, you want your utilization score at 35% or less. For a good general credit score, you want your utilization rate at 10%. It seems like those going for a mortgage are being told they should have no more than a 5% utilization rate.

❌ Still working on my journey. Thank you for the credit score ingredient list. It is very helpful. People need to know that all three credit agencies do not have the same scores. When applying for a credit card, large purchases, etc., not everyone pulls from all three agencies.

Do reconsider your student loan debt between now and graduation. For many of those loans, you do not accure interest before graduation and you may want to lay some of the loans off and/ or the balances down before you are required to pay. On some loans, if you begin to pay before graduation, you are obligated to a monthly minimum which can also mean that daily compounded interest.

I’ve paid off about 9.5K since the end of September. My goal is to have ALL of my credit cards paid off this year. Phase two is my personal loans. Phase three is my truck paid in full. Well done! Thank you for sharing!

That’s coming at the end of the month it’s just an update of what I’ve done this year.

Hi Bestie, I think that it is important to let your audience know that your debt free journey did not start in September but several months before. People need to understand that you had to take care of your unpaid bills first and sticking to your budget❤. It is a long journey but it can be done.....
You know what...You are right....I did start before September with my past due bills and I was paying the minumum payments of all of these debts...Now that I think about it....At some point, I am going to have to calculate everything paid. Thank you
Congrats on paying off half of your phase 1 debt. I kept hearing you say patience. Not being patient has a lot to do with me being in debt. It is something I will be focusing on this year. Please check with your 401k administrators related to your repayment, penalty, and tax obligations should you become separated from your company for any reason. Say you are in an accident, you quit, are laid off, or are fired. You may chose to put the 401k loan on a higher priority.

Then hit it hard on the other accounts listed. Notate calendar to do a second balance transfer before the date hits.
Then hit it hard again.
Now your 28.9% interest (x4) just became 0%.
And don’t ever do that again! :-)

Great job! Maybe consider freezing your credit at all 3 credit bureaus. I keep mine frozen so it helps protect your credit (its not 100% but its some protection) and it also slows me down and makes me have to think before I make an impluse purchase that requires a new line if credit. Best of luck on your journey!
