Deck Class Crete to Greece with ANEK Lines KRITI II

- This vlog depicts what there is to do aboard Anek Lines Kritti 2 ferry during the ten hour voyage from Heraklion Crete to Piraeus Greece - it is possible to board around three hours before departure should you arrive at the port early.
Arriving into Heraklion by plane, outside of the airport is a public bus which costs around 2Euro to get into the city, around 15min away. When you see McDonalds get off the bus and walk around 5min to the port.
Inside the terminal are WC facilities, cafe, seating and the ticket sales desks for Anek and Minoan Ferries.
Facilities aboard Kritti 2 include cabins, reception, lounge/bar/cafe which is open 24hrs, prayer room, shop, self service and formal dining rooms, disco/bar, pullman sleeping lounge and extremely large exterior deck with pool, cafe/bar.

I sailed on board Kriti II in mid September from Piraeus to Heraklion. Poor old thing was not in good mechanical shape, and limped in to Heraklion three hours late the next morning. Very comfortable ship, though.

@@A2BviaSeaonTV I look forward to reading it. FYI on the subsequent return sailing to Piraeus the port engine completely gave up the ghost and the ship was pulled from service for several days of repairs.

I think operating a pool in domestic services in Greece is prohibited. Kriti II used to operate between Greece and Italy, where having a pool is allowed. I am not 100% sure though.

I'd wish for a try of the lesser family companies who operate between smaller islands. Express Skopelitis of the Small Cyclades is a legend. There is even a documentary about it. It was part of my endless Greek Summer experience since 1980.

Thanks for the Kriti 2 tour! When were you in Heraklion? We were in Rethymnon between August 18 and September 1. I have material for an arrival video of Sea Jets fast ferry between Rethymnon and Santorini. Two round trips per week. It also runs one round trip a week between Heraklion and Santorini. // Bertil.

@@A2BviaSeaonTV It sure was Naxos Jet that was doing the Santorini round trips from Rethymnon this year. This year she was based in Rethymnon and made 2-3 round trips to Santorini every week and 1 from Heraklion in between.
