When Bud talked about 'friends of Red Skelton' doing his show, Red's son Richard passed away on May 10, 1958 at the age of 10 from leukemia. A group of Red's friends did his show for two weeks before Red came back to work on May 27

It is a real shame that kids today can no longer see Ringling Bros Barnum & Bailey circus. It is a memory that I will never forget when seeing the circus at Madison Square Garden. Joan Fontaine was fine but I hope Kitty and her laugh return soon. Thanks for the video.

They're planning to re-launch the circus next year. Sadly, it won't include any animals; apparently, not even horses or dogs. While I can understand the concern about the mistreatment of animals, Ringling had a great reputation for treating their animals well.

I am so pleasantly surprised that the topic of Cricket and Pakistan was on an American game show back then.

It was stated that the cricket team had come to the US to play some matches on special invitation. To play against whom, I wonder? I imagine there might be a few hobby cricket teams here now, but back in 1958?

Pride, greed, envy, wrath, lust, gluttony, and sloth? I do not see that in those characters. Rather, I see in the castaways’ behavior toward each other: an uncomplicated Gilligan who means well, a responsible and caring Skipper, a Mr. Howell who doesn’t want the others to know of his soft heart, a Mrs. Howell who has her own kind of logic and makes the best out of her current situation, a Ginger who is aware of her beauty but tries to use it to help in her own way, a professor who is always trying to better their situation, and a Mary Ann who works at keeping people fed and clothes washed. They were all giving characters. Love that show!
