Yeah anyone who tries this the 1st time can relate to those 2minutes. I spent around 4 hours trying to deal with the joycons. Only spent 2 hours on my 2nd switch actually went pretty smoothly compared to my 1st one.
I always enjoy clicking on these if only for the purpose of seeing how far off the thumbnail is from the end product, I will be waiting to see the result today.
I did the Extremerate SNES tribute shell and have been pretty happy with it. Kept some little ramekins on my workspace to keep fasteners under control. My only complaint is that the two halves of the left joycon shell don't quite line up perfectly. There's a little edge there that goes right into my palm. Between that and fear of the paint rubbing off, I went ahead and got one of those low profile clear cases to put on it. It's fun having a "custom" Switch!

The way they built the switch is awesome, it’s like an iPad or phone with a case or customizable controllers and only games that are owned by the company. And there are games of all prices.

why is nobody talking abt how GOOD that switch looks tho? the colors remind me of a zelda theme, hyrule shield specifically, with the blue and gold and the red ruby thumbstick covers.
Having doing a shell mod myself 2 times now, once for my switch and a second time for my girlfriends switch, I now have a immense hatred for the right JoyCon. It has more electronics in it compared to the left JoyCon as it has the IR detector on the bottom of the controller and some other thing in it that I'm not sure what it's actually for. The Joycons are the real hard part of this mod 100%
You can also change the color of the joycons in software so that the switch knows that they're now blue, you do it by connecting them to the pc with bluetooth and there's a software for it
