Sir Terry Wogan was largely responsible for promoting Nanci’s records on his radio programmes. Now she can sing to him in Heaven. RIP Nanci, you had a beautiful voice.
The voice singing with Nanci on the studio version is none other than the legendary Phil Everly. I can just picture them singing it now in heaven. We love you, Nanci and Phil.
Add John Prine to the list. We love you Nanci, Phil Everly and John Prine. Nanci & John sang together on this earth and will sing out to the heavens forever more.....Nanci I will miss you so much.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video of Nanci. It has really touched my heart. I don't recall hearing this song before. Two beautiful people Nanci Griffith and Terry Wogan may they both Rest In Peace. They both brought great joy and happiness with their individual talents while in this world.
Saw this lady years ago at Wembley country music festival, this must have been when she had recently started and I hadn't heard of her and walked by her , She was promoting a recently released album.
My problem is I do not recognize old friends or celebrities from decades ago who I only keep in touch with by reading mainstream media or non-conventional (other person's spy-crimes) radio, (sig-int, signals intelligence, as if I am supposed to be able to read, or understand that stuff by trial and error but mostly by error in the school of hard knocks in spy-war hell}. Danny Shapiro from high school really annoyed me because I did not recognize him in Fiesta supermarket in Fort Worth. Later I realized my mistake. And they get all offended because we were not properly, or formally, introduced and identified. Sheesh. From my point of view, totally random. Get religious with states' rights. Only the amazing grace of Jesus The Christ of The Holy Bible has been saving a wretch like me.
Sorry but I have difficulty understanding what you wrote, maybe because I'm not proficient in English...did you write anything about this beautiful song? or something about Nanci?
@@FrancoS59 Marine Colonel Oliver North of the National Security Agency has not been a leader of the Contra army in a fight to overthrow the Sandinista government of Nicaragua since the Reagan administration. So I do not think that is what the song is about. I don't think Homeland Security would be secretly targeting Nanci as an enemy the way the FBI targeted anti-war activists in the 1960s.
@@nadeembitar5292 Nanci will certainly not have been involved in those matters you mentioned. And for the question where She got the bread from, I say that her magnificent art deserved much more "bread" than She received.

Another amazing thing I learned. The studio musician who plays acoustic and electric throughout the record is Bernie Leadon of the Eagles.
What a beautiful thought❤️❤️
An amazing singer, songwriter and performer. The legendary Phil Everly is a hero of mine so getting both on the studio version was magic.
The song that introduced me to Nanci, back in 1990. Never looked back.
Just found this, saw it 30 years ago and never thought I'd see it again, wonderful Nanci RIP
Nanci is an Angel, who has blessed us with her beautiful music.
Now she's gone. RIP you beautiful angel.
This is one of the best love songs in the world!
Always my favorite artist-shared her songs with the love of my life. He passed in 2012-Nanci saves him for me❤️❤️
Rest in Peace Nanci 💔 Thanks for the beautiful music

Beautiful song, sorry to see you go Nancy. BBC Radio 2 Folk music often played her songs: thanks Mark Radcliffe and particularly Mike Harding!
This is a great piece of writing. I especially like the bridge. Beautiful Nanci❤
RIP Beautiful Nanci....

Hi Buddy, take RIP off this. There's enough death going on in this world. Nanci lives on thru her music and that will never die.

Ave et vale. Rest easy.
What a treasure

I don't know how to accept the death of this woman. She was there all my adult life. So far away from her.
