Nice man. I have a 2008 EXT and been wanting to do an upgrade on the lights. Quick tip if I can. It doesn't take long to pull the entire front clip off these trucks. You would spend 20 mins pulling the entire front clip off in one piece which would make it much easier to do work like this. I learned this when I put a big transmission cooler on my Escalade because I tow a lot and wanted to keep the trans cool. It's bad enough replacing those HID bulbs, so much crap to remove. Doing the lower lights too? Yeah I'm pulling the entire clip.

Yea aftermarket lights are not any better than stock, they are made cheap to be affordable to the consumer unless they are morimoto but those are quality and expensive, the way that I have mine it's definitely brighter and and gives off more flood light in both front and off to the sides

@Ricardo Wade This video is interesting in so many ways. Slightly different application, but I'm simply trying to get my sidemarkers on my 2012 (AWD "Luxury" Edition) to operate as sidemarkers (as designed) but then FLASH alongside my turn signal lights when I cut on the left or right turn signals (& presumably flash when I put on my hazards as well)... After finally figuring out how the heck to get my headlights out (which, mind you, does NOT require completely removing the front bumper cover lol), I managed to locate the appropriate wires that go to my side markers (actually just working on the driver side before even messing with the passenger side), & the most I could accomplish (WITHOUT blowing a fuse) was to either A. have the sidemarker AND turn signal constantly lit (after splicing the turn signal positive wire into the sidemarker+parking lamp positive wire) or B. have the side marker off but then have it flashing when I cut on the turn signal. Following my struggles, I eventually assumed (based on what I kept reading) that I ran into these issues because A. these were "2 wire" LED bulbs with no second "positive" wire (stock in the 2012 Escalade Luxury Edition?) & B. a relay would be needed in order for it to function how I wanted; This is where I was stopped dead in my tracks, yet now I come across this video & it seems as though your 2-wire fog lights are functioniong the way I want my sidemarkers to function (staying lit constantly but flashing once you cut the turn signal on)... @@Ricardo_Wade Thx bro! I actually grabbed a pair of switchback bulbs for my fogs a couple weeks ago. But as for the actual amber SIDEMARKER strips in my headlights (which [oddly enough] seem to be the only LEDS that came stock on my vehicle back in 2012 [alongside the rear taillamps, the high stop lamp & possibly some others in/around the cluster]), I feel like I'm stuck with the bulbs that came in place as I haven't found a way to remove those (unlike the bulbs for the low/high beam, the DRLS, the parking lamps, the turn signals, the fogs & rear tail lamps). Its like they embedded the amber sidemarker bulbs within the headlight so you can't change em lol. But yea, I've tried everything short of getting a relay/etc & just haven't been able to get em to work like this (where they stay lit but then flash when I cut on the turn signals). It works but I did end up with hyper flash (fast flashing blinkers) I ended up buying the resistors but have not installed them other than that everything has been good.
Thanks bro your vid really helped a lot. Now I will get me some resistors.
@@greghernandez5510 not a problem brotha thank you for watching
Can somebody tell me what is the middle bulb good for? What is actually it’s purpose Because there is no button to activate it in the vehicle
The manufacturer put a bulb in the middle, but there is no way to put it on
Note: the bulb never work from the day I bought the vehicle.
@beastvenom871 it's a daylight driving light it only works when the vehicle is in "D" without the parking brake on, that's why you never notice it on lol
Which is better,. LED lights or HID?
For projector headlight housings H.i.d is reccomended and performs better than led
@@Ricardo_Wade how do you know what kind of casing you have. I am having to replace my headlights and I ordered them from Amazon. It doesn't say what kind of casing I am going to get with these headlights? Things have gotten so complicated. The last time I had a headlight issue was when I had a 2003 Chevy Tahoe, lol
WOW!!! Looks amazing 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for watching appreciate it
Can someone tell me why the middle headlight is not on when the headlights are on
Because they are only daylight driving lights, I modified mine to have all the lights on
Thanks you actually know how to explain Thanks
Thanks for watching, the video was a bit long but I feel being detailed about what I am doing will give the viewer confidence and information to tackle it with confidence
Thanks for the vid. Going to tackle this next weekend. I've seen on the forums that you need to add a resistor to the switchback led turn signal to prevent hyperflash. It doesn't look like you had that problem. I see 3157 bulbs on Amazon that come with canbus resistor built in, is that what you used?
I did have hyper flash with the ones I used and added resistors the following weekend, I ended up getting a pretty good cash offer on the truck with is why I didn't do a follow up video but yeah if you get led with canbus wired you should be good with no hyper flash
@@Ricardo_Wade thanks much appreciated. You didn't need this resistor for drl right?

Nice job brotha..

I have a 07 My corner lights don't come on at the top, but I changed the bulbs, but my DRL come on, is there a certain way to get my corner lights to come on?
U had a bad ground. Ground the black wire from the harnes to metal
You'll need to remove the front bumper, for headlights
You need to draw up a chart I like the idea
Little late to the game. Had mine like this in 2011! Looks good tho
I didn't have this truck in 2011 otherwise I'd have it done truck is gone now
I like the idea but now u dont have DRLS only reason im not doing it
I drive with all the lights on even in the day time
Clean...may try this on my ESV
Defenatly an eye catcher and looks good with big face on these escalades
I also converted the hid bulb and ballast to 6000k H7. It's better than the hid shit we find on Amazon. Those ballast suck and new ones are too expensive.
You converted the headlights to led?
@@Ricardo_Wade Yeah man it’s way better than the headache hid.
@@BIGMANMUSIK brighter yes, but you loose the the whole function of the projector, a hid bulb in a projector housing will project the light farther by at least 25ft, my buddy has a 08 esv and he did the led headlights, his throws more of a ball of light vs mine keeps the light brigh, sharp, and low, when facing a wall hid will have a sharp cut off line and led hill be a hazy ball of light
@@Ricardo_Wade I adjusted the angle of the projector lower because of the brightness did a comparison test with my friends and their vehicles. Not much difference. Drove from NY to El Paso to Arizona and Back. No issues and with all the lights as you wired it. You know when it good when truckers don’t flash you. Hid does have a sharper line to it. Great video. Be safe 🙏🏻
Very very informative but I couldn’t hear
Thanks, I was using a ebay mic and did not know it would only Pic up when pointed directly at me
Your audio is breaking up
Yes I know, I was using a shotgun mic with noise canceling features, unfortunately it was a bit windy that day and the mic was working against me
The blinker light doesnt have the intensity as fog light. This is basically for cosmetic look not worth it.
It does give more of a flood light so it does have its advantage if it's worth it or not it's totally up to you.
That's how they were supposed to come out from the factory
Much better in my opinion
@@Ricardo_Wade yeah i agree definitely going to do that to mine
@@Ricardo_Wade thanks for the video.. very helpful
@@hacatan24 no problem
Any one who does this needs to add realys when just tapping off other light circuits
It's going from halogen to led, the draw is significantly less, the relay coil might draw more than those 194s
You can use a relay and also isolate the DRLs To work as intended (during the day) and also come on when the headlights activate. No need to lose that function only running them with the parking lights
Stop touching the bulbs with you hands!!! The grease and oil on the hands kills bulbs.
