- 8/21/2021 - This past Saturday, Iowa Interstate QJ 6988 ran a series of excursion trips out of Oxford, Iowa to benefit the local fire department. The trips were a total success; all 5 trips sold out! As some of you know, I've been doing volunteer work with CSSPA (the organization that owns and maintains the 6988) for the past couple years, so naturally I was present to help with these trips. Unfortunately, this was the only day I could be around for as I returned to Pennsylvania for college the following Monday. It was a great day, though, and many got great photos and videos you can find here on RUclips and other platforms. I was assigned to help sell shirts to benefit the program for the 2nd and 5th run of the day, and I took a quick video of each run departing. Enjoy!
Huge thanks to the Oxford Fire Department and the Iowa Interstate Railroad for continuing to help make the operation of this engine possible!
Dennis was running the 2nd run and Robert was running the 5th. 6988 wore its GTW 6 Chime all day.

Nice work! What is the history on the whistle? Sounds a little like 261's.
It’s a GTW 6 Chime, I suspect the one off 5629
