I was saved in a charismatic church and I never felt comfortable, the music and some of the things said just didn’t strike a chord for me and I always felt bad, I thought I didn’t know how to worship properly, I think I know why now!
I've been healed by the Lord Jesus because I believe in the Word. I've asked the Lord to let His blood flow upon me and heal me. I've spoken to my bones. I've asked them to be healed in Jesus' Name. And yes, praise the Lord. I've been healed. There's power in the Name of Jesus and we have to speak it.
Sorry, we aren't promised that. We are told to take up our cross, and deny ourselves. God heals when he wills, we are neither promised physical healing or prosperity. Gods great plan to prosper Steven was to have him stoned to death for defending the gospel. The book of job, as well as those Ill people mentioned in Paul's epistles who weren't healed prove that it's not always God's will to heal.

I'm precarious in that matter as well. Been researching the Toyota Prius to live in because it has a hybrid battery that can run heat and AC without the need to use the gas engine. The amount of money being brought in is huge and there is no accountability to the donators. His sons are also making lots of money and aren't really earning it. There is general malfeasance and emotional abuse as well. All this is alleged, but she is a professional reporter who hasn't been proven wrong before.

Maryam Maghen, read those verses carefully. It says the angels in HEAVEN don’t marry. This is given as analogy to what we (humans) will be like. In heaven, we will not marry or have sexual relations either. Actually, there several parallels given in scripture between humans and angels. In Jude 1:6, it says the angels left their abode and came to earth. The word abode in Greek means “tent” or “covering”. It’s the same word used elsewhere in Scripture to describe what we (humans) will put on in our heavenly form. In effect, the fallen angels disrobed this covering while we will put it on in heaven. So going back to the verse you quoted, it merely describes events in heaven. In heaven, neither humans nor angels will marry. But on earth...I’ll let you draw the conclusion here. I understand this concept deeply disturbs many Christians. The implications are staggering. But it’s clearly what the text says.

Is there a "sickness and poverty gospel"? Is that more "Biblical"? What do we do with Jesus' words, "he shall receive a hundredfold in THIS time" referring to those who give up things and even family for the gospel. See Mark 10:29-30. Jesus' words. We have as little right to dismiss these words as Jesus' words on hell. Jesus preached the prosperity message - or is the Kingdom poor? "Blessed are the POOR in spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven, " Matt. 5:5. How can you have the Kingdom and stay poor? There was no material poverty before the fall. Jesus came to redeem us from ALL the effects of the fall. God is against greed, not spiritual, soulish or material RICHES. Check this part of God's word: "you were ENRICHED in everything by him (Christ)" 1 Cor. 1:5. Better yet, check the Greek. It is even more shocking. Either Christ has redeemed us from all the negative things of the fall, or he didn't. Let us agree: God is against greed. But the same God inspired Moses to write in Genesis 2:12, "The gold... is good." Have we forgotten that it was God who made gold in the first place? I hear Mr McArthur run down many preachers. I have heard a lot of teaching by Hagin and Copeland. They also speak against false teaching but l have never once heard these men criticize their harshest critics by name from the pulpit or so distort or misquote them.

Scripture is clear on this. God did not call us so He could give us money. He called us according to His purpose not ours. We are His workmanship and He will use us as He pleases. We deny ourselves and follow Jesus. We set our mind on heavenly things not earthly things. To have our minds set on carnal things is enmity with God. The word of faith preachers make the verses confusing and they use verses to appeal to our fleshy desires. Scripture says that if we love the world the love of God is not in us. jeff buchanan I think you're missing the point. There is a lot of dysfunction in the church which is what causes poverty, lack and sickness and depression and such things. I absolutely guarantee that God, our Loving Heavenly Father, does not want us dysfunctional. Besides, all of those symptoms listed above are also curses of the law (spelled out in Deuteronomy 28), but we have been redeemed from the curse of the law. Now, we are blessed with all the blessings of Abraham. ALL the blessings of Abraham. Do you have any idea how rich he was? Do you know he never even got sick, and when he died (with long life I will satisfy you), when he was satisfied with life, he simply laid down and gave up the ghost. His eyes didn't even dim. I think the problem is that too many Christians put off all the promises of God till they get to heaven, not realizing that ETERNAL LIFE starts today. Today is the day of salvation. Maybe, too, they don't realize what Salvation means. They have watered that down too, to mean only going to heaven when they die. Not so, it's wholeness, completeness and not lacking any good thing, prosperity in all areas. He gave us His Son, is there any good thing He would withhold from us? Is there anything He values more than His Son? I don't think so. He came to give us life more abundant. Satan comes to steal kill and destroy, and yet we tend to think it must be God's will when we are not overcomers. Grace is the Gospel (Galatians 1:6), and the Gospel was preached before to Abraham SAYING, "in you, all nations will be blessed" but the Gospel only works for us the same way it worked for Abraham, by believing it. By Grace thru faith. It only takes a mustard seed size of faith, so it's not how much faith we have, it's the object of our faith. Jesus Christ. Is He our provider? Our source? Our healer? Our peace (which is actually salvation in the Greek)? If we believe He died for our forgiveness, then we have a right, through Him, for forgiveness. If He died for our healing, we have a right to that healing. He already paid for it. Don't let the enemy steal your blessings.

The amount of money being brought in is huge and there is no accountability to the donators. His sons are also making lots of money and aren't really earning it. There is general malfeasance and emotional abuse as well. All this is alleged, but she is a professional reporter who hasn't been proven wrong before.

Maryam Maghen, read those verses carefully. It says the angels in HEAVEN don’t marry. This is given as analogy to what we (humans) will be like. In heaven, we will not marry or have sexual relations either. Actually, there several parallels given in scripture between humans and angels. In Jude 1:6, it says the angels left their abode and came to earth. The word abode in Greek means “tent” or “covering”. It’s the same word used elsewhere in Scripture to describe what we (humans) will put on in our heavenly form. In effect, the fallen angels disrobed this covering while we will put it on in heaven. So going back to the verse you quoted, it merely describes events in heaven. In heaven, neither humans nor angels will marry. But on earth...I’ll let you draw the conclusion here. I understand this concept deeply disturbs many Christians. The implications are staggering. But it’s clearly what the text says.

In this case, their earthly bodies died. Whether or not their heavenly bodies did as well, I’m not sure. But in parallel fashion, we humans will die in earthly bodies while inheriting heavenly bodies. So maybe it’s possible for angels too.

Ps 82 doesn't describe God addressing "rulers" on Earth; these are "gods"--divine entities, the same "sons of God" that are elsewhere placed "in the heavens": Ps 89:6,7. The same divine "counsel" as in Ps 82, and it's in heaven. Why would God say these ""gods" would "die like men" if they were just men? Men don't "die like men." They ARE men.
The "divine counsel", the "sons of God", or "Watchers", or "the host of heaven" is a well known doctrine in biblical theology. God has a counsel consisting of other (lesser) "gods" He created that are referred to hundreds of times in Scripture. They aren't angels; they are called "gods" plainly. Ancient Jewish cultures believed in their reality, and the Bible speaks of them. The Hebrew word "elohim" is the same term used for God and "gods" in Ps 82 and elsewhere. Human beings are NOWHERE called "elohim." NOWHERE.

One of the prosperity preachers favorite verse in the Bible is 3John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Prosper in the Greek is Euodoō (G2137) compound of G2095=Eu, meaning good or well.
And G3598 Hodos meaning “Way” or “road”
Prosper is not our word prosper and not our word health.
The word prosper is Euodoō , it’s constructed from Eu (well) and hodos (way).
Put the word together it’s Euodoō in the original Greek Bible.
Hodos is the common Greek word for “way”. It’s the same word Jesus used when he said, “I am the way” in John 14:6.
And Eu means “well”. We see that on our word Eulogy. A eulogy is when you stand at a funeral and say well logos (words), well words over someone who died.
Jesus said “I am the way (Hodos). He said there was a narrow Hodos (way) and a broad Hodos (way.

Either Christ has redeemed us from all the negative things of the fall, or he didn't.

I hear Mr McArthur run down many preachers. I have heard a lot of teaching by Hagin and Copeland. They also speak against false teaching but l have never once heard these men criticize their harshest critics by name from the pulpit or so distort or misquote them.

Scripture is clear on this. God did not call us so He could give us money. He called us according to His purpose not ours. We are His workmanship and He will use us as He pleases. We deny ourselves and follow Jesus. We set our mind on heavenly things not earthly things. To have our minds set on carnal things is enmity with God. The word of faith preachers make the verses confusing and they use verses to appeal to our fleshy desires. Scripture says that if we love the world the love of God is not in us. jeff buchanan I think you're missing the point. There is a lot of dysfunction in the church which is what causes poverty, lack and sickness and depression and such things. I absolutely guarantee that God, our Loving Heavenly Father, does not want us dysfunctional. Besides, all of those symptoms listed above are also curses of the law (spelled out in Deuteronomy 28), but we have been redeemed from the curse of the law.
Now, we are blessed with all the blessings of Abraham. ALL the blessings of Abraham. Do you have any idea how rich he was? Do you know he never even got sick, and when he died (with long life I will satisfy you), when he was satisfied with life, he simply laid down and gave up the ghost. His eyes didn't even dim.
I think the problem is that too many Christians put off all the promises of God till they get to heaven, not realizing that ETERNAL LIFE starts today. Today is the day of salvation. Maybe, too, they don't realize what Salvation means. They have watered that down too, to mean only going to heaven when they die. Not so, it's wholeness, completeness and not lacking any good thing, prosperity in all areas.
He gave us His Son, is there any good thing He would withhold from us? Is there anything He values more than His Son? I don't think so. He came to give us life more abundant. Satan comes to steal kill and destroy, and yet we tend to think it must be God's will when we are not overcomers.
Grace is the Gospel (Galatians 1:6), and the Gospel was preached before to Abraham SAYING, "in you, all nations will be blessed" but the Gospel only works for us the same way it worked for Abraham, by believing it. By Grace thru faith. It only takes a mustard seed size of faith, so it's not how much faith we have, it's the object of our faith. Jesus Christ. Is He our provider? Our source? Our healer? Our peace (which is actually salvation in the Greek)? If we believe He died for our forgiveness, then we have a right, through Him, for forgiveness. If He died for our healing, we have a right to that healing. He already paid for it. Don't let the enemy steal your blessings.

Pastor MacArthur is a tough Preacher. But he is the one that practically every pastor/preacher in America listens to. Whether they like what he says or not. I would much prefer Pastor MacArthur in my corner in a Battle than the much weaker preacher/pastors. The battle would be lost left to them.
