I have that very watch and it's a keeper. Classic Hamilton field watch looks on the dial and one of the most comfortable watches I own. I have it on the OEM leather/canvas NATO styles dame as this one. And I'm always a full-on sucker for titanium
Unique crown design, for sure! Thanks, Rob.
That's called a canteen crown guard
That makes perfect sense. Thanks much
Nice watch. My Navy Pioneer has the same movement. Very accurate.
I like the crown design!
I too have a drink or three from time to time. Not before work, but not a bad buzzed-video :) The canteen crown guard retention setup is an Invicta Russian Diver mainstay many for decades now.
Thanks for the heads-up, Rob!
Looks great!
He has had that one for over a year. I saw it last year. It is very nice.
As a knife guy and tools guy in general the wear on titanium is the best looking to me.
This is based on the US ORD watches of WWII. The frogman watches had a canteen crown to prevent water damage. They were the same size as the ORD field watches (32mm).
I have my father’s ORD watch he wore into combat with the 29th ID in WWII. It’s small, simple, and reliable. No date. You don’t need the date on a field watch.
The date on that watch is absolutely unnecessary and hampers the aesthetics. I dunno why Hamilton does that.
What strap is that? It looks really nice and fitting of this watch.
🔥🔥🔥
Niiice watch. Im buying 1
Very common design started by Panerai. But yes a nice watch for people with a limited budget
A nice comment for people with a limited perspective
… over 1.000 Dollars? I will limitate myself.. it’s too expansive for this! Watch.
I will have to look at those.
This is not particularly similar to Panerai's protective crown locking bridge mechanism, really. And when it all comes down to it, Cartier pioneered a very similar 'canteen' style with their Pasha model dive watch around 1932, far before the Panerai innovation from 1956, first featured on the Radiomir Egiziano, that you're referencing.
Anyway, this particular style of canteen watch is a close modernized approximation (with some minor differences) of the early 1940's USN BuShips dive watch (also far predating the Panerai design) , a modified A11 design, which Hamilton, along with Bulova and Elgin, was contracted to produce for the US military during WW2 into the 1950's.
And welcome to the sponsors channel (do what I say - I pay you).
I received zero payment for making this video other then whatever google adds placed on video. So not sure what your comment means?
