Pastor Mitchell is genuine. He deserves to have his ministry saved. He always preaches in a way that makes you realize that you are not doing enough, and I personally love it.
So I know someone who is a member of 2819 and according to her Pastor Phillips circle had begged him for years to keep pushing for money but he refused because he didn't want to manipulate anyone. You can argue that's why he is in this predicament but God is still with him
The church should be willing to give. If he is preaching and teaching truth. From the videos I have seen, he does. There are several Scriptures that support the idea of the body of Christ should give to the work of the church. And support the minister if the church can do so. It's sad to see they gave to move. But maybe when they find a new place. They will be better stewards with the money God gives. And give to the church for the church to continue to do the work of the Lord.
When you are in the land of prosperity Gospel I can understand why he has that position. When you start off with 283 people and in three years you doing three services with over 2k people each service this is a move of The Most High i dont think anyone expected

I live in Ohio. Not my church. I have not followed his church services. But I donated. I saw some of his clips; they all got me to read the Bible more. If you are real follower of Christ, then we're family. That's what family is for: supporting each other.

During his sermon, which he didn’t realize was The Holy Spirit using him, he said church PRAYYYY and he stepped back and let the church pray to God. It was so spontaneous and real-like the moving of the Holy Spirit. Heck I started to pray and I pray even now believing God will give him what he needs for the body of Christ.

The church is trying to live biblically where it supports itself. This is different than what we’re used to in the black community. Were used to, take the offering AND take the loan. Call it good and call it God

I’m praying for Pastor Phillip and 2819 church. I love this brothers passion for God, for the Word, and for Truth. I’m personally exhausted with fake preachers and false prophets, who manipulate the body of Christ. I believe others are tired as well and this is why his ministry has attracted thousands of believers who are hungry for an authentic relationship with God. You are wrong Corey. He did not know this growth would happen. You should do your research. He has been in ministry for 12 years and NEVER had a building because he NEVER had this many followers of his teaching. It wasn’t until he went to Jerusalem a few years ago where he had an encounter that made him come back to the US with a bolder anointing for the gospel. As a result, people started coming in droves. So this isn’t something you can prepare for.

I think it’s absolutely beautiful how the congregation is supporting him in this crisis. They prayed with such fervency! And even when IF he did err by not asking the congregation for more funds along the way - I’m still grateful that they’re actions, prayers and giving are saying collectively - “don’t worry pastor, we got you!”
I was there yesterday, and God is doing a work. We should lift him and our church up in love and prayer. God is able. Let's be supportive Christians. I believe many of us are clear that a building costs money, that having a structure to worship in is necessary, and that several of us do not take issue with giving our money to ministries that operate with integrity.

This Pastor has a good problem. Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain! If this is a work of the Lord and I believe it is then it cannot be stopped. God makes the way! There is always learning, challenges, seeking wisdom, growth pains, sacrificing and yes sometimes mistakes as we place our trust in the Lord and move forward. I can't wait to see what the Lord will do. Praying for this Pastor and his church.

Many have told us we don't mix.... Our faith is strong together. He's the giver, provider, fixer... I'm the compassion, comfort and voice of understanding. He's the strong arm completely black or white... And I discern things to bring in the peace. His faith is wide mine is deep.
I love this ministry! I will never agree with 100% of what any MAN says because you will have errors if you are a man. In your doctrine, your teachings, and your UNDERSTANDING of the Word. I'd love to sing in Spanish and Korean at Church! Those are two languages I've always had an affinity for. In Pre-K, my mother put my sister and I in catholic school and we would sing in spanish for God.I loved it. When I turned 15 I learned to speak Korean a little bit but quit for a while. I'd love to sing in multiple languages for our Lord! I wish I could find a place like that here.
When he started gathering a name calling out foolishness in preachers he caught my attention. Listened to a few sermons and loved what he was doing. Heard him live when he came in town. Visited 2819 shortly after during a trip to ATL. I was so blessed to see people parking far away, lined up, and WAITING to hear the Word preached unapologetically. I can def understand the neighbors complaining, but I saw 2819 trying to be good neighbors while dealing with mind blowing explosive growth. I’m grateful for this movement and I know God will provide here as He sees fit. What’s crazy is, people coming at Corey saying he’s coming at Philip. I’m reading comments and I’m a little ways into this vid and haven’t heard him say anything critical yet, only building him up. Stop jumping to conclusions, please. Other folks coming at Philip and obviously haven’t listened to a sermon or visited, because the accusations make no sense if yall actually heard what he’s said and how he’s moving. He’s (doesn’t seem to be) chasing a mega church and has worked hard to not ask for money. Can yall acknowledge that at least, please? Saints, stop coming at co-workers because you disagree with a minor point or don’t like a certain approach. Investigate the life and doctrine on the majors and stop dividing amongst each other. 2819 Church Servant Leader here. We have been working and saving to get a building of our own for over 2 years, so this is not a planning problem. It is a logistical issue. Also, to say that 2819 Church has gotten "too big for its britches" is a bad choice of words... there was no way to anticipate the exponential growth we've experienced. Lastly, we're not surprised about what's happening... we are aware of the fire code and zoning issues, and as previously stated, we've been working to find and fund a new building, but it costs, and we're NOT complaining about having to do it. But the way you're explaining things feels a bit passive-aggressive, so if all you plan to do is criticize 2819 Church and speculate based on last Sunday's gathering and NOT visiting to speak with Pastor Phillips to find out from the horse's mouth, as a pastor yourself, at least pray for us while your using our situation to generate content and engagement.

If the congregation is 6,000 people, and they need $250,000 to secure the Jewish bldg, thats roughly $41 per person. That's not an insurmountable amount to raise, especially considering the amount of support the church seems yo have.

I may disagree with Pastor Mitchell on a few things here and there, but that's the case with anyone. I do think he is a much better shepherd than most of the popular pastors today that are much more worldly and money hungry. I pray for him to remain humble and stay focused on spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ with passion and boldness.

This is a city property a school auditorium it's not permanent but temporary. People in the community complain to the city due to traffic jams, no parking, and other community strain. Church growth is good show the ministry its touch by God. This pastor knew in advance that this location is temporary, this city property has codes and laws to abide by, and he should have been looking for a permanent edifice. I know they have the funds to get started to fix or build an edifice or start raising the funds. No time for crying, pull your pants up, start looking for a permanent building and move, can't always fight, and win with the government. If this ministry is blessed and in God's hand, provision will happened 🙏

I watched this Video and I was touched because I realised that I've been in the same place for the last 5 years, needing 300k where we got an opportunity to purchase & Renovate a former Tennis hall to a Sanctuary. I wrote letters to almost 1000 Churches to raise funds for our property great opportunity in Germany but very, very few responded. Following the story of this Church in America, I'm seeing the results of what I prayed and hoped for " about the power of Churches and believers coming together to help another Church in trouble." This is a powerful testimony and example of how Christians ought to stand with one another and not redicule those in trouble or in need.
My Brother, I cannot say that I disagree with anything you said, but your lack of compassion for the man of God, the church and their pain seemed a bit harsh and somewhat ungodly (although I know that was not your intent or heart). You were accurate and truthful with everything you said but lacked empathy with the delivery. Even Jesus wept for Lazarus's sisters who mourned the death of their brother whom He also loved. It showed his human side in spite of knowing he had the power and would in fact raise him from the dead. I appreciate the way you ended this, but the beginning was a little tough. As it's often said great messages go undelivered and without results because of the package its wrapped in.

Jesus walked the land preaching, he didn't stay in one place and thousands followed so this situation shouldn't stop the progress. I believe pastor Phillip will be blessed in a way not even he expected. He can digitally preach until he raises the money to find a location, God has plans for them for sure. I watch digitally since I'm not in the same state and its a better experience than being at a location sometimes.

I know of churches right now who once had 6000 members and more who now can't afford the building because the numbers are no longer there. Without discipleship, people chase trends. I've seen it for years. The hot church that's trending gets the numbers, especially if your not preaching against idolatry and keeping people accountable to the Bible. I'm tired of seeing ministries fizzle away in trend, only to no longer be able to afford the mortgage which then becomes the thorn of that ministry.

People chase trends and then move to the next popular "church." This is why discipleship matters. Jesus prioritized building people via discipleship. The emphasis was never on building buildings. Furthermore, Jesus discourages "trendy" by making the cost for salvation clear via identity, mission, discipleship, crucifixion, and resurrection.
@mrdanielleebrown Yes, Jesus didn't worry about buildings, but we are also not living in the Middle East/ Africa and neither in those days. They have a contract that is not up. They also didn't expect the church to grow so fast. They were saving for a building, but they had their largest growth over the last 5 months. I am sure they expected the city to honour the contract, which would have given them a little more time. I can also understand that the neighbours are frustrated. What I am most concerned about is that people who say they are Christians are praying for this man to fail! How is that Christ like? It's behaviour like that that makes people want to leave the church. Christians need to really look at themselves. I would never want to be the cause of someone leaving Christ because of my actions as a Christian. We should be examples for the new converts. They should be able to see Christ in us, but look at the comments on here. People are literally wanting this man to fail, I am looking forward to God to show that he is still in the miracle business.
Did the Church learn anything from the pandemic? GOD does not need a building! I have seen this play a least two dozen times. The REAL ministry is outside the four walls. The church worldwide is supported by only 10% of its people. If the church has 6000 people only 600 give faithfully. Many people will come for the hype or newness yet, few stay for spiritual growth & development. GOD'S calling has provision in the vision.
Our church in Virginia grew during Covid and we did a church plant. That new church was separate and independent. There should be other elders qualified to teach. A church should never be too big that a pastor can't know each of the members.
I donated to them…but I love the growth due to the desire people have to get the gospel and not what is so common in Atlanta…however they are at a charter school auditorium and the residents are complaining about traffic…and there is a concern about capacity….all which are true concerns….they don’t need a building…there were 14k people on the 10am live yesterday (I watched)…people just want the Word of God!!!
We can pray and give, let God do the rest. He could have brought the need for a new building months before the actual need arose so as the people didn’t get sideswiped about the building not being open to them. The church I attend had a need our pastor brought forth the need to the body. He said this is the need and we want to pay for it so as not to take a loan to have a debt against the church. We prayed over it and God influenced two members to give and fulfill the need. God can provide a place in His timing not ours. He has provided even down to the final moments in my life, time and time again. Trust God and let Him straighten the paths that we need to take. 😊
Lord God, this is your servant, and you know all and even the unexpected. You ordained this pastor to his position. I believe You started and You will complete what You start that You alone may be glorify! To God be the glory.
Personally, I’d never want to regularly attend a church that size. I prefer the idea of a very successful church planting another church. Seems like that would be biblical.
They grew EXPONENTIALLY in a short amount of time. I visited 2 years ago and it wasn't THAT big. They didn't know how big they were going to get. It's beautiful but it's also a problem 😢
I served as a trustee for my church just before Covid during a period of planning to build a new building/sanctuary adjacent to our old building because of growth. Most people aren’t aware of how city/county codes for buildings holding 1000+ people drive the cost up astronomically!!!! $19 million is not unreasonable for 6000 people in a metropolitan city……
I found out about 2819 church from someone on KW‘s channel and I did not know that they were in Atlanta. But I want to go to a service, but I only joined the online one. Well, I didn’t join, but I saw I had some conviction in my life because this man was certainly teaching about the heart of man. He just ended a consecration fasting of seven days and I did that.
First, love the preaching I have seen so far 2819. Second, if it is a fire code thing because there are too many people, then yes, they will have to move. So, I pray that they get the money raised and I feel that The Lord will make a way as He always does.

I don’t like the way he’s talking about the city and the neighborhood calling on the church. I’ve been told that neighbors can’t get and out of their neighborhoods on Sundays. They are either trapped in or blocked out. That’s not right either. Let’s pray for ALL parties involved.

It was so spontaneous and real-like the moving of the Holy Spirit. Heck I started to pray and I pray even now believing God will give him what he needs for the body of Christ.

You are wrong Corey. He did not know this growth would happen. You should do your research. He has been in ministry for 12 years and NEVER had a building because he NEVER had this many followers of his teaching. It wasn’t until he went to Jerusalem a few years ago where he had an encounter that made him come back to the US with a bolder anointing for the gospel. As a result, people started coming in droves. So this isn’t something you can prepare for.

I think it’s absolutely beautiful how the congregation is supporting him in this crisis. They prayed with such fervency! And even when IF he did err by not asking the congregation for more funds along the way - I’m still grateful that they’re actions, prayers and giving are saying collectively - “don’t worry pastor, we got you!”
I was there yesterday, and God is doing a work. We should lift him and our church up in love and prayer. God is able. Let's be supportive Christians. Let's not pick apart a man showing emotion being too much. If you were in the room, you would feel the Holy Spirit every time. Please pray for that 2819 finds a home.
I believe many of us are clear that a building costs money, that having a structure to worship in is necessary, and that several of us do not take issue with giving our money to ministries that operate with integrity.

I'd love to sing in Spanish and Korean at Church! Those are two languages I've always had an affinity for. In Pre-K, my mother put my sister and I in catholic school and we would sing in spanish for God.I loved it. When I turned 15 I learned to speak Korean a little bit but quit for a while. I'd love to sing in multiple languages for our Lord! I wish I could find a place like that here.
When he started gathering a name calling out foolishness in preachers he caught my attention. Listened to a few sermons and loved what he was doing. Heard him live when he came in town. Visited 2819 shortly after during a trip to ATL. I was so blessed to see people parking far away, lined up, and WAITING to hear the Word preached unapologetically. I can def understand the neighbors complaining, but I saw 2819 trying to be good neighbors while dealing with mind blowing explosive growth. I’m grateful for this movement and I know God will provide here as He sees fit.

2819 Church Servant Leader here. We have been working and saving to get a building of our own for over 2 years, so this is not a planning problem. It is a logistical issue.
Also, to say that 2819 Church has gotten "too big for its britches" is a bad choice of words... there was no way to anticipate the exponential growth we've experienced.
Lastly, we're not surprised about what's happening... we are aware of the fire code and zoning issues, and as previously stated, we've been working to find and fund a new building, but it costs, and we're NOT complaining about having to do it. But the way you're explaining things feels a bit passive-aggressive, so if all you plan to do is criticize 2819 Church and speculate based on last Sunday's gathering and NOT visiting to speak with Pastor Phillips to find out from the horse's mouth, as a pastor yourself, at least pray for us while your using our situation to generate content and engagement.

If the congregation is 6,000 people, and they need $250,000 to secure the Jewish bldg, thats roughly $41 per person. That's not an insurmountable amount to raise, especially considering the amount of support the church seems yo have.

I may disagree with Pastor Mitchell on a few things here and there, but that's the case with anyone. I do think he is a much better shepherd than most of the popular pastors today that are much more worldly and money hungry. I pray for him to remain humble and stay focused on spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ with passion and boldness.

This is a city property a school auditorium it's not permanent but temporary. People in the community complain to the city due to traffic jams, no parking, and other community strain. Church growth is good show the ministry its touch by God. This pastor knew in advance that this location is temporary, this city property has codes and laws to abide by, and he should have been looking for a permanent edifice. I know they have the funds to get started to fix or build an edifice or start raising the funds. No time for crying, pull your pants up, start looking for a permanent building and move, can't always fight, and win with the government. If this ministry is blessed and in God's hand, provision will happened 🙏

I watched this Video and I was touched because I realised that I've been in the same place for the last 5 years, needing 300k where we got an opportunity to purchase & Renovate a former Tennis hall to a Sanctuary.
I wrote letters to almost 1000 Churches to raise funds for our property great opportunity in Germany but very, very few responded.
Following the story of this Church in America, I'm seeing the results of what I prayed and hoped for " about the power of Churches and believers coming together to help another Church in trouble."
This is a powerful testimony and example of how Christians ought to stand with one another and not redicule those in trouble or in need.
My Brother, I cannot say that I disagree with anything you said, but your lack of compassion for the man of God, the church and their pain seemed a bit harsh and somewhat ungodly (although I know that was not your intent or heart). You were accurate and truthful with everything you said but lacked empathy with the delivery. Even Jesus wept for Lazarus's sisters who mourned the death of their brother whom He also loved. It showed his human side in spite of knowing he had the power and would in fact raise him from the dead. I appreciate the way you ended this, but the beginning was a little tough. As it's often said great messages go undelivered and without results because of the package its wrapped in.
Jesus was a great example of super fast growth. after he preached it said 3 thousand were added to them.
One thing for certain, the enemy presents himself in times like this. I pray the Lord cover, protect and provide peace and clarity to the pastor, family and the leaders and their families as they go through this transition. ❤
Jesus walked the land preaching, he didn't stay in one place and thousands followed so this situation shouldn't stop the progress. I believe pastor Phillip will be blessed in a way not even he expected. He can digitally preach until he raises the money to find a location, God has plans for them for sure. I watch digitally since I'm not in the same state and its a better experience than being at a location sometimes.

I know of churches right now who once had 6000 members and more who now can't afford the building because the numbers are no longer there. Without discipleship, people chase trends. I've seen it for years. The hot church that's trending gets the numbers, especially if your not preaching against idolatry and keeping people accountable to the Bible. I'm tired of seeing ministries fizzle away in trend, only to no longer be able to afford the mortgage which then becomes the thorn of that ministry.

People chase trends and then move to the next popular "church." This is why discipleship matters. Jesus prioritized building people via discipleship. The emphasis was never on building buildings. Furthermore, Jesus discourages "trendy" by making the cost for salvation clear via identity, mission, discipleship, crucifixion, and resurrection.
@mrdanielleebrown Yes, Jesus didn't worry about buildings, but we are also not living in the Middle East/ Africa and neither in those days. They have a contract that is not up. They also didn't expect the church to grow so fast. They were saving for a building, but they had their largest growth over the last 5 months. I am sure they expected the city to honour the contract, which would have given them a little more time. I can also understand that the neighbours are frustrated. What I am most concerned about is that people who say they are Christians are praying for this man to fail! How is that Christ like? It's behaviour like that that makes people want to leave the church. Christians need to really look at themselves. I would never want to be the cause of someone leaving Christ because of my actions as a Christian. We should be examples for the new converts. They should be able to see Christ in us, but look at the comments on here. People are literally wanting this man to fail, I am looking forward to God to show that he is still in the miracle business.

Did the Church learn anything from the pandemic? GOD does not need a building! I have seen this play a least two dozen times. The REAL ministry is outside the four walls. The church worldwide is supported by only 10% of its people. If the church has 6000 people only 600 give faithfully. Many people will come for the hype or newness yet, few stay for spiritual growth & development. GOD'S calling has provision in the vision.
Our church in Virginia grew during Covid and we did a church plant. That new church was separate and independent. There should be other elders qualified to teach. A church should never be too big that a pastor can't know each of the members.

We can pray and give, let God do the rest. He could have brought the need for a new building months before the actual need arose so as the people didn’t get sideswiped about the building not being open to them.
The church I attend had a need our pastor brought forth the need to the body. He said this is the need and we want to pay for it so as not to take a loan to have a debt against the church. We prayed over it and God influenced two members to give and fulfill the need.
God can provide a place in His timing not ours.

I served as a trustee for my church just before Covid during a period of planning to build a new building/sanctuary adjacent to our old building because of growth. I found out about 2819 church from someone on KW‘s channel and I did not know that they were in Atlanta. But I want to go to a service, but I only joined the online one. Well, I didn’t join, but I saw I had some conviction in my life because this man was certainly teaching about the heart of man. He just ended a consecration fasting of seven days and I did that.

First, love the preaching I have seen so far 2819.
Second, if it is a fire code thing because there are too many people, then yes, they will have to move. So, I pray that they get the money raised and I feel that The Lord will make a way as He always does.
I personally believe he “puts a little extra on his emotions” because he preaches a hard message n he know “our” people need passion to listen lol

Thank you for highlighting the reality of the situation. He didn’t have to call the neighbor a “Karen”. It’s a city school with city codes and safety regulations. I don’t like the way he’s talking about the city and the neighborhood calling on the church. I’ve been told that neighbors can’t get and out of their neighborhoods on Sundays. They are either trapped in or blocked out. That’s not right either. Let’s pray for ALL parties involved.

He didn’t say anything wrong about the city. You just didn’t like he used the word Karen. He didn’t bad mouth the city at all. You are correct, there is traffic and it affects the neighborhood. However it was never intentional. Focus on what’s the real issue
I pray those who have clout or "merited influence" can/will help this ministry expeditiously WITHOUT any other motive but to bless them! I like this ministry & their passion for the gospel! If I had money, I'd MOST certainly donate heavily & anonymously. Thats my prayer...that someone who has a building or and the money will bless them!
I also think buying land out in an open (rural/outskirts of the city) space will be a good move for them.

You have a lot of anointed pastors here in Atlanta; however many are not getting the recognition. I pray for this young pastor that God will give him direction. I personally haven’t visited the church but I pray for him.
Where God guides, He provides. Lord provide for an assembly of your Church to further The Gospel in your way and your time. Give them wisdom, resourcefulness, resilience and strategy that glorifies your name in the earth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Pastor doesn't need to push for money The Lord pays His own bills everything will turn out the way the Lord wants stand still. Thank you Cory for the support and I'm in California it's for the Kingdom
