    I like rock and jazz/fusion and have been using a stratocaster for a long time, but after watching your video I bought a telecaster. Thank you.

    beautiful guitar man. Love that version of Round Midnight. Don't sweat the multiple teles. I have done it. Some guitars will speak to you and some wont. We are only here for a short while, best not waste our time settling for an instrument we have to fight with. At age 58, I have probably owned upwards of 100 guitars. Now I only have three. Of those hundred I can think of only two I regret selling. A telecaster that someone had pretty heavily upgraded, and and Heritage 535. The rest hold good memories but I don't regret letting them go. Lately I have been on a kick of playing one of my guitars each week all week. This way I kind of fool myself into that new guitar feeling. Love your videos man.

    There are a million different considerations that go into buying as well as keeping or getting rid of a guitar. Only the player can fully understand the reasons behind what specific guitar works best for him/her. This Tele is a beaut and sure sounds like a winner.

    I have a few Teles and found a Baja that is absolutely sublime. I also have an American Special with Fender Fat pickups and a few Classic vibe Squires that are equally great. Now I just need time to sit and play them. I am also unloading a lot of equipment because I am running out of house room because of amps. Guitars and Basses so I am putting a lot put on the market now lol😊

    Brilliant guitars.. I have one. bought 1983 dark rosewood kneck. Fender USA vetoed their sale there. a good story as to why.

    Do you still have your road worn telecaster? I remember you sold all your telescasters to stay with just the road worn?

    Totally get it Jamie; and by not moving on an instrument that isn't quite right for you, how will you ever come across the right one? It makes no sense hanging on to one that isn't right? Right? Four rights don't make a wrong. That's five I suppose. Just joined your beginners course and learning the sevenths...

    Hellow, your Tele sounds awesome (I know this song well and I play it too...) but I would like to know what equipment you are using and what's the key to buy a right Japan Tele, the weigth...? Excuse me for my doubts and congratulations for your fine job. Regards from Spain 🍻

      Thanks for the kind words! The weight is subjective I don’t know how much it affects tone. To be honest all the Japanese Teles I’ve had have been really nice. The main thing to do is upgrade the pots and find a nice neck pickup to put in.

    Jamie, next time you need to darken a fretboard try Minwax Wood Finish Stain Marker. Used one on a Jazzmaster with a light fretboard. Used ebony. It's a dark chocolate brown now.

    I've never been interested in Fender Telecaster anymore since I bought a G&L ASAT. Have you ever tried one ?

    Looking for another Tele - in particular for my small jazz combo -I found your video very helpful, indeed. Unbelievable how warm and jazzy the neck PU sounds, and that for a single coil. Do you keep all of the TL62 or is one or the other on sale?

      @@jamieholroydguitar Thanks, I am in Germany so it would not make a lot of sense looking at customs and tax. However, I am looking forward to following your channel and hope to find many more good hints…..

    Curious as to why you don't like a light rosewood neck?

      It’s all subjective but they look too dry and cheap to me!

    What is perfect weight for a tele?

    • @jamieholroydguitar
      @jamieholroydguitar  Год назад

      The weight of a guitar is very subjective and doesn’t bother some people. I personally like them under 8 pounds because I like to use a strap with a guitar and hold it higher up.

    Interesting video, Jamie. I always knew you as a jazzer but you surprised me with your chicken pickin''!🙂
