I just realised that Kefka & Sephiroth's final forms are almost angelic in nature, the wings and bright aesthetic around them giving such a godly feeling. *Meanwhile Ardyn is just him & Noctis in a ruined Insomnia.*

It seems this is Ardyn after starting his Episode, but not after his battle with Somnus. It's hard to say exactly how much time he took absorbing Deamons before attacking Insomnia, so he could be from then.

If he was trying to show Apathy or exhaustion with Bahamut, then it was rather weakly portrayed. People are treating this quote strangely. "I never much cared for you" is a clear statement. He's not saying he doesn't care, he's saying "I never liked your sorry ass" in a simple, succinct manner. It's the kind of thing you say to your worst enemy, not someone you're indifferent to. He dislikes Bahamut. Probably fucking hates him. It's why he has so little to say in retaliation. Words can't express that kind of animosity.

Every single summon quote was a direct reference to FFXV except Odin. And even then, you could say Odin is a reference to the fact that he's old as all hell. The time period when Ardyn was actual flesh and blood seemed to have a very "ancient rome/greek society" feel to it, so yeah - he could have feasibly ridden a horse in that lifetime.

The Final Fantasy series definitely has a knack for making villains with tragic backstories. (With villains like Sephiroth, Caius, and Ardyn being good examples of this)
I kinda like how Venat has her own Armiger like Ardyn and Noctis. Remember fighting her on Elpis and her crystal weapons started spinning around her. A big "Oh shit" moment for me😂😂

If you mean in terms of what they achieve then Kefka, Ardyn and Caius are king (Sephiroth was stopped just in time). Each have their positives, so it's difficult to directly rank them honestly.

It's safe to say I didnt survive the fights...he kept throwing meteors at me from across the way when the fight started lol. Love Ardyn's lines in this game, his lines are golden.
I love the fact you used emperor and ff12 villian(sorry can't remember his name) as team mates gives me a (again sorry if this is not the correct word) symbolic feel for ardyns world of the simple fact that he works for the empire.
The first portion is called Ardyn II, and you can hear it throughout most of the game. The second one is Ardyn IV. You can hear that during the alternate route in Episode Ignis just moments before fighting him. Hope this helps!
I mean, Liam O'brien was employed for Kain in this game, so it's certainly possible. Bit less likely though, considering the focus on Lightning Returns plus Snow taking the villain spot.
I feel like Ardyn's backstory was just rushed in the DLC and he really deserved much better. and I hate how they handled it. BUT, disregarding that the voice acting remains legendary.
Actually you're suppose to be helping the gods combat a greater threat, one strong enough to force the heroes and villains to cooperate and combine their strength
The deities you fight in-game want the same thing you do, it's just that they need to be beaten in order to deem you worthy of Summoning them. Materia and Spiritus (the two most important gods in Dissidia) keep the world alive by channeling battle energy, so having you fight is fine by them until the _actual_ threat shows up.

Now FFOO, yes of course, but it is same world as NT (and honestly in my opinion much more enjoyable to play.) though I don't think FFOO is anywhere close to revealing what is going on like I assume NT eventually did, I don't know as I just couldn't get into that one. Maybe at the end of this season?

Among other things, it was him who purified the fallen warrior at the end of each cycle, devouring their memories and healing them for the next fight. When the cycle was broken after Cosmos's death, the dragon chose to aid Chaos as his summon. It was Shinryu, Garland and Cid of the Lufaine who started the cycles of conflict to begin with.
The first song is Ardyn II. The second song is Ardyn IV. They're from the Final Fantasy XV OST and the DLC episodes. I'm not sure if they ended up adding these songs to Dissidia.

Actually you're suppose to be helping the gods combat a greater threat, one strong enough to force the heroes and villains to cooperate and combine their strength
The deities you fight in-game want the same thing you do, it's just that they need to be beaten in order to deem you worthy of Summoning them. Materia and Spiritus (the two most important gods in Dissidia) keep the world alive by channeling battle energy, so having you fight is fine by them until the _actual_ threat shows up.
The point of this game is to tie up one loose end from the PSP games: the dragon Shinryu.
@@Aqua311 I thought NT was a total reboot, cus I don't remember Shinryu from PSP version. Now FFOO, yes of course, but it is same world as NT (and honestly in my opinion much more enjoyable to play.) though I don't think FFOO is anywhere close to revealing what is going on like I assume NT eventually did, I don't know as I just couldn't get into that one. Maybe at the end of this season?
@@sparemobius7430 Shinryu played a key role in the lore of the PSP games. Among other things, it was him who purified the fallen warrior at the end of each cycle, devouring their memories and healing them for the next fight. When the cycle was broken after Cosmos's death, the dragon chose to aid Chaos as his summon.
It was Shinryu, Garland and Cid of the Lufaine who started the cycles of conflict to begin with.
One of the best villians in the franchise, easily. He deserves a better game than ff15.

The first song is Ardyn II. The second song is Ardyn IV. They're from the Final Fantasy XV OST and the DLC episodes. I'm not sure if they ended up adding these songs to Dissidia.
Just curious because I can't find any videos on it. What is his third color? I mean I love his default and his red one but can't find the last one.
