Bro I think traditional genres including rock are on the comeback. I am someone who works in EDM and I feel it. People are getting tired of button pushing artists and want something authentic. A lot of EDM artists are trying to go "live" because it's what sells.

sandorx4 No, he doesn't. I hate these types of judgments: "Oh, your favourite flower is the snowdrop? You should really see some orchids." Maybe I've seen your orchids, and they're great, but the snowdrop is still my favourite flower. The same with this bass line. You could say, "You need to listen to some Bartok string quartets, if this mere shit is your favourite", but that's utterly irrelevant; one might listen to every single great piece of bass music, and still have a not particularly complex line as their favourite. Perhaps that particular piece suits them most.

    • @steveiannelli
      @steveiannelli 9 лет назад +132

Sarah Shepard You favorite bass line can be whatever you want your favorite bass line to be. It's entirely subjective. Don't let people tell you that you need to "listen to more music". If you like it, you like it. You do you.

Trying to deny that Matt Bellamy is basically Thom Yorke with a little bit more falsetto and a little less high chest is to be a blindfolded fanboy asshole. Matt almost stole Thom's signing voice. That doesn't make him bad. On the contrary, he does a bloody great job, and Thom Yorke is a really talented singer, so, if anything, makes Matt an even more amazing singer.
But yeah, there is Mike Patton, then.
Truly, to deny that he is clearly the most talented singer in the history of modern music is close to knowing nothing of singing. And don't anybody say Freddie Mercury because not only Mike Patton can sing far more than Freddie, but also other great male singers like Tom Jones are far more talented than Freddie (and I reckon Freddie is one of the greatest voices of the last 100 years)

This band is honestly one of the best of modern times. Not only amazing performers but their music has changed the history of alternative rock in so many ways, I recently paid tribute to them by doing a 100% live looping medley of their greatest songs, including this one, I'll leave the link in the replies below in case anyone wants to check it out!

The best part is hearing the echo of everyone in the crowd singing along the refrain, as you sing along the refrain.

Man, I saw them open for Foo Fighters and RHCP in Albany, NY when I was in 8th grade in......1999? The arena was at least half-empty and nobody knew who the hell they were.
    Now look at them. Crazy.

This was the first muse song I ever heard way back when. Didn't have a clue who it was by at the time and I spent a good few years hunting for it whenever I heard it again with no success......and then a mate told me to listen to this amazing song by this band he was loving one day and low and fucking behold it was Hysteria. I've been a fan of MUSE ever since! xD

@@alexeyvek6359 It happened to me in 2003....there was a song that I liked a lot which sang "our time is running out"...but I had heard of this bass line once on the radio..there was this British trio whose name I could not catch...well, I bought the CD with Time is running out and ...HELL! i discovered that Hysteria was the name of the track and that it was the same band! MUSE! Then I fell in love and I got all their records :-)

    It's bugging me, grating me
    And twisting me around
    Yeah I'm endlessly caving in
    And turning inside out
    'cause I want it now
    I want it now
Give me your heart and your soul
    And I'm breaking out
    I'm breaking out
    Last chance to lose control
    It's holding me, morphing me
    And forcing me to strive
    To be endlessly cold within
    And dreaming I'm alive
    'cause I want it now
    I want it now
Give me your heart and your soul
    I'm not breaking down
    I'm breaking out
    Last chance to lose control
    And I want you now
    I want you now
    I'll feel my heart implode
    And I'm breaking out
    Escaping now
    Feeling my faith erode
