Persona 5 OST
The fact that this design or idea was done on a blazer, a very ubiquitous and down-to-earth shoe, is just absolutely fantastic. If the presto collab was a well engineered sports car designed on the nürburgring, this would be an older track hero, with the owner retro-fitting performance components as older parts break down. Both equally cool and thrilling in very different ways. Hopefully that analogy makes sense, at least.

The customisation aspect of the heel cage is such an incredible idea. Giving it over to the community to freely create new designs and using the shoe as a base is genius. Imagine in the future if this takes off where people are trading and making all different kinds of aspects for their trainers, fully endorsed by the brand.
Same. I was not into these and totally passed on them. Now I'm kicking myself cause I want cool 3d printed back pieces! It's a cool idea that gave me a 180 on these. Might need to clench up and go resale

Agreed. The 10 designed at SOLEBOX are amazing, but I cannot wait to see what the community designs as well. I plan on getting some of them printed for sure.

what you said about lots of people not understanding them and thinking they are ugly is 100% true. I showed them to my friends when they were revealed and they all just said they were bad and overpriced, which is usually the reaction I get from them about anything that's not minimal fashion and especially techware.
Just give them a couple of years and they'll change their mind. Lots of people hated the LF1 when they released!

Big fan of these, I feel like the customizable heel adds so much even in its bare form. Lots of added volume/geometry without going overboard.
I liked these instantly when the mock-up was released and then heard nothing about a release. My husband recently found these for me for Valentine’s Day and they look just like the mock-up and I love them . The Blazer is by far my favorite shoe and I am thrilled to be able to have this affordable design style. Haven’t worn them outside yet as it’s been raining or too cold but looking forward to it.
The maroon ones look like Eva Unit 01. The customizable heel cap concept is so cool!
Picked them up in black half size up because I couldn’t get my true size, now I’m a bit relieved to know that they fit a bit narrow. I know not everyone will be into it, but the customization possibilities with the cage are insane. I already had my eye on a few of the solebox ones, the big exhaust pipe cage in particular

I'd love to see some action effects for the heel cage, some thing like anime style flames that wrap around the outside of the shoe, or a speed-line design would be awesome.

I have been hyped on these since they were first announced, and I actually got my first shoe W in a long time with both colorways. I took too much of a W though, and won every raffle I entered, so I ended up with 3 pairs of the maroon lol

I got the Black ones, my only complaint would be that cushioning some additional cushioning in the sole or even insole would have been welcome. After wearing them for a couple of hours the soles of my feet began to ache. Definitely interested in your take on the apparell.
Yeah you think? Its ancient technology by nike, useless and outdated in the modern world. I didn't get them for that same reason. I knew these shoes were 100% aesthetics and not for practical use.
yeah when I got my first pair of blazers I was a little bummed out that they had no foam whatso ever and just the thin insole. It sucks, def not a wear all day/lots of walking type shoe
I hadn't owned a pair of blazers since I was about 12, I had clearly blanked out that they were not the comfiest!
There is a Nike Zoom Blazer out there so surprised they don't appear to have used it for this release. All the other Acronym collabs have been fairly comfy underfoot so it is unusual. That would've increased the price though, and maybe the priority was to provide a creative platform without the cost being prohibitively expensive (e.g. the Acronym Vapormax were something ridiculous like $240 retail)
Yeah, I have a handful of blazers and they are not for comfort. I love some designs they have though. I have the Christmas ones, Coming to America ones (My favorite. Patterns and colors) and I have all 4 Kaws blazers edition.

As soon as I saw that cage thing i thought. I wonder if its removable if so I'd love to 3d print different color ones. And behold that's something they encourage. (I'm not a sneaker head at all but my god these shoes are awesome.)
I'm buying those Evangelion shoes, asap. I'm also a 3D modeller with a 3D printer, I can't wait to make my own designs.
I ended up getting a pair of these for myself on resale for a great price recently, and I'm excited to 3d print the other heel options.
The thing with this shoe is that I can absolutely see myself commissioning someone to create 5-6 additional designs for the heel clip. And doesn't destroy the shoe in the process like a "custom" paint job or physical modification.
The maroon does look nice with the light green cp pants. I grabbed the black and green, cause black and green, and already have a friend printing Alessandro Belliero heal clip! I absolutely love this release and can't wait for all my gear to arrive. I grabbed the football jersey in white and knit top in black, and the multicolored pants (after you posted them TBH). :wallet yells at ant: How could I not rep ACRNM+NIKE Football Club.

Absolutely love these apart from one unforgivable detail... THE STENCIL CUTS!? While very cool in theory and fitting in concept it’s a major detractor for me personally
Side note: I’ve heard you mention skateboarding in the past but wasn’t expecting that ILL 180 boneless to 360 pivot on the quarter, that was tight
Don’t lie Antwon, after the Huaraches I know you just dig the EVA 01 Colorway. And so do I. Lol. Not too big a fan of the “all ghillied up” part. But I like the heel cage part a lot. Makes em look futury. Also their Instagram page liked my comment when I called them Air Bosozokus.

Ay Tech decking. These stomp super hard and I’m definitely gonna double up, probably triple on the black pair. These are gonna be my preferred hard wear shoes this year.

Awesome review! These type of shoes and their creative platform is just what I look forward to! Unfortunately The shoe type is just not my thing, I dig the aesthetic and the modular platform on the heel. But I would really like a future version with a bit more in depth design. Loving this and what future designs will come.

I would have definitely bought them if they were comfortable or had a react drop-in insole. Also would love an indepth comparison of the NIKE X ACR jacket with any acronym jacket.
I didn't like the looks of the shoe, but you going over all the design details made me appreciate it a whole lot more

You nailed everything you said. These shoes got me back into collecting, I love wearing my green nightbtime sesert camo pants with them, I went wirh black bc it’s my go to but the other color way has grown on me and so has the ghille cuts, I wanna mix and match and hopefully use my printer finally for these. The price was the finale check im glad they chose this model and went with a great selling price it really drew me to check them out as a company as well. My fav show of last year

this shoe could potentially introduce a whole new vector of sneaker customization pass repainting, velcroing logos (af1 velcro) and cloths and the deconstruction/reconstruction kind of look that off-white shoes have
i could see a future where people would be designing and 3d printing their own heel cages and other shoe bits to really make their sneakers unique to them, like gluing 3d printed swooshes with weird patterns and colors to get a really cool look
edit: on the other hand, if these were blazer mids or air maxes it wouldve been an instant cop for me

I got the other colorway, but honestly wishing I bought this one as well. The colors on this colorway look nicer than in just picture. But I do love the fact that you can 3d print new ideas to attach to the heel. Honestly, may have to find a few friends with a 3d printer or even get myself into 3d printing (from liking it to a hobby).

Managed to grab both colorwats through the snkrs app. Can't wait for them to arrive as these will be my first acrnm pieces ever. Finally can start affordinh acrnm and these were a great way to start that journey. Also gonna give a go at designing my own heel cages!

Can we just take a moment to appreciate Ant's 10/10 Okapi cosplay? Man I hope I can cop a pair of the black & olive ones. My wardrobe leans more towards gray man with lots of graphite, gray, khaki, and muted greens & I legit feel like that olive accent might fit quite well into that color scheme.

Yeah. Thinking of buying both colorways. Was gonna put the lime green heel cage to the Maroon to give it that EVA unit 01 vibes. Can you try to take out ALL of the heel cage? Was thinking if it was possible to transfer the cage to maybe another Nike Blazer... possibly a high top.

I typically wear all black and use my shoes as an accent. Or a jacket as an accent. I love a pop of color to contrast a mostly black outfit.

As a industriial designer, with a master in shoe design.....those are amazing, one of the most interesting sneakers of nike in a long time. Always is good to see a product who challenges the consumer to be creative and not only an avarage lackerhead sneaker consumer. If you known how to use 3Dmax or another modeling software, bro, the skye is the limit. An instant classic in my modest opinion.

im not a huge fan of these shoes, but the apparel is just straight up offensive to me lol. im not even sure why but it sours my enjoyment of acronym in general.

I wish they went to town on the cage and had segments all over the shoe. I can't get on with the cut out ghillie style logos, just doesnt work.
I had a bid in for both colorways on SNKRS and managed to cop the black, I like them a lot already. Still figuring what they pair best with, as I usually wear mids and I'm not 100% sure these lows will match up to my baggy taper pants.
Is there a base 3d file for the heel cage online? I looked at the Solebox page the other day and only saw the six artists designs ( one of which you could probably revert to a base heel cage model with very little effort but the license in the readme specifically prohibits derivatives)
Would be interesting to see how the shoe looks with the end of the leather back material going up the cage and showing the hiden nike logo 🧐 anyways very good review and thanks for all your efforts, and wish your videos where at least 30minutes 😂
personally not at all a fan of the maroon colorway however this video definitely gave me more of an appreciation for the black ones! i have a J1A-GTKP so getting those matching DS custom cages would be sooooo sweet. would love to see a vid on the clothes next week, cheers (:

The maroon ones to me, look like they have an Evangelion color scheme. I bought the green ones and the maroon ones at the Nike Employee store in Tennessee.

Woohoo! I took an L on the shoes, but managed to grab the same "neapolitan" colored jacket you wore in the video. Found the shoes in Night Maroon on eBay the next day for $150 + $10 shipping. Shit, I'll take it!
